4350 for 32 gigs of ram and 1tb ssd. Seems both stats should be much higher for the price. Laptop meant to be purchased with a company account. Like how they add a zero or two for “server hardware”.
Yeah, should be fully loaded for that price. 128GB ram/4TB HD.

Oh, boy... It's not just the money this thing costs. I've seen a P16 Gen1 in person, for business work. It's a BRICK. Period. I can imagine bricks that are less heavy than that thing was. And reading the SPECs, this one is "Starting at 2.95kg / 6.5lbs" so it's not something you want to carry with you.
Got the P16 gen 2 a few weeks ago. 13980HX with RTX 2000 ada, 32GB of RAM, WQXGA 165Hz screen. Best Lenovo that I’ve had in 20+ years. This systems does not slow down in any app (OBS, reality capture, DJI Terra) fans come on but the systems never throttles.
Favorite keyboards by far for me. Whenever I'm looking for a good laptop I prioritize typing and having an ergonomic keypad is so nice. Not to mention the trackpoint in use with the mouse buttons is super nice.
A friend gave me an old thinkpad during covid when I needed a laptop to work for home. Last year i picked up basically brand new thinkpad off marketplace to run my lasers off of for $200 its been an amazing purchase.
Would be great to have a microphone shot showing how loud these systems get. Without noise it's hard to know if it's a good system. Thank You for your hard work! Best Regards and Best Wishes!
One thing that people should consider that Thinkpads are not for general consumer. Even if you're a content creator you're better up buying either Legion or Yoga Pro. And this P16 is more of a mobile workstation/desktop replacement type of laptop. He's right, this is a laptop designed to make money even though it has decent power to game.
The GPU in this laptop really isn't that powerful. From what I can tell, it's less than a 2070 in terms of performance. You can get a thinner, lighter laptop with better specs for half the price.
Yes! The display ports are in the back. I work in mental health and they provide us with ThinkPads to do client notes and all the ports are on the side. It's frustrating. Also, they aren't springing for a $4000 laptop for us. There is no dgpu.
This was a different one. Kindof a little off the usual content. I like it. Happy forth everyone! If your not in the US, it's probably just another day for you.
Yup. But when you drop this it would likely survive. In the event it doesn't you will probably have a better time having it serviced. Plus some users of this SKU would probably have next business day on-site support if it breaks down. A technician goes to your place to check it.
@@EAL007 I gotta give Lenovo credit there. My refurbished T480 from 2018 that I bought in 2021 happened to come with 5 year premier support. Ran into a weird mobo issue earlier this year around February and they provided me a new mobo. Because it was premiere support I had the option for them to come to me which is what I did. Three days later dude was in my apartment changing my mobo. In and out in about 30-45 minutes.

For around 663 usd, you can probably pick up the Lenovo p15 gen 1 with an i7 10th gen 8c 16t and RTX 5000, with 2 ssd slots and ram that is upgradeable to 128gb. I think I'll be getting that one instead
It is sad seeing your channel becoming an advertisement channel. You're completely out of touch with your average user. We are living in a post pandemic world. We are also living in a world where people are retrenched (layed off) en masse. All you care about is your personal gain. You don't review products, you advertise them. A sincere and thorough review also includes negative points, things that are always missing from your "reviews".
I really don't understand the justification for buying high end laptops. You're compromising on the dollar for value so hard by the fact that it's portable but a high majority of people that do use these type of things almost never move from the spot they plonk these laptops onto which means they could have bought a computer of similar spec for a fraction of the cost or a computer several times better in all metrics for the same price. Also the best laptops are almost always 10+years behind the best desktop out at the current moment in terms of performance. You'd be better off using a low end laptop and RDP (remote desk top) into something more powerful to get things you need done in a quick way.
this laptop is stupid i just bought lenovo legion slim 5 for 1100 $ , it's lighter at 2.4 kg , has better gpu 4060, great display 16" 1440p 500 nit 19/10 , about the same perf cpu 13700H and did i say it's 4 times cheaper .....
Who is this video for ETA Prime? Is it for ETA Prime? For ETA Prime's rich friends? It's certainly not for us your viewers. We don't have the money to get this. So, who is it for? I know right, just showing off tech in another video, right? Well, here is some news for Mr. disconnected from his audience. We don't have the money to buy that.
Sorry, but I can't imagine paying that much money for those specs. That's twice as expensive as the desktop I just built and my desktop has better everything except the CPU. There's not a single spec that I think justifies nearly $4500. It's not even a thin and light...it weighs 6.5 lbs.
Remember when ETA prime was about budget emulators?

well.. technically you can emulate on this device.. if you have a high budget..

Lenovo laptops, especially thinkpad prices are egregious at launch. You gotta wait for them to chop those prices.
Computer meant for corporations are the volume sellers since the manufacturers can basically ramp up the price whatever they want

A shop not too far from me is selling one for $1400. I kind of want to trade in my Lenovo X13 gen 2 for it.

This laptop is a performer and a looker but yikes the price tag though 😲
It's how you build it. There is an option where you can "build your PC", but prices vary.

The good old IBM nipple and 2 button left and right options are still way better than any trackpad.
As a MacBook pro user I completely disagree. Total trash compared to mine. Part of that is software though.
I agree that nipple is terrible

A thinkpad WITHOUT linux on it? Heresy!
I have a p16 Gen 1, I9-12900hx 128GB RAM, and RTX 5500 16GB best purchase i have ever made, with a low prixe of $5000
Just wait 3-4 years so you can buy for 600$ lol
I don't even think that long.
It’s actually pretty bad. My partner was given this through work and it overheats so much and the system freezes a lot. Fan always running like crazy.
You need some Apps to dynamically control the fan speed.
I hope the speakers got better. I have an older thinkpad and they are horrible. The rest of the device is really solid and good for work.
Aren't there some gaming laptops that's better than this under 1k?

Pre-owned high-end thinkpads in good condition are cheaper and much much better than most budget/mediocre NEW laptops.
Powerful! I liked! 👍
I wish they would use those rubber nubbins on gaming handhelds
Will Thinkpad be coming back out with a 17" or larger screen in the 4th quarter 2024 or during 2025?
How about running some Davinci Resolve comparisons with a Macbook Pro M3?
