  • I plan on using my Dump Trailer for hauling logs and need a way to get the logs into the trailer so I decided to mount a winch in the front. I needed it mounted high so that I could load multiple logs which took a little bit of fabrication! In this video, the fabrication is finished, Winch is mounted and its time to upgrade the controller!
    Here is a link to the Upgraded Controller amzn.to/2ECfc4S
    Here is a link to the jumper cables I'm using amzn.to/33WOgoU

    Success is so sweet almost time for you to tackle building your own band sawmill from scratch! I think you could do it.you have the skills. I think a lot of people would watch process.

      mark goins I contemplated building my own mill, I fully believe I could, but I really want to get milling so I can start sawing logs and building structures here on the farm.

    That’s a nice winch setup. I had some bodywork done to my daughters 2011 Nissan Altima. The body shop welded on the car with the battery hooked up. Completely took out the body control module. Its real. The BCM part was $949. I vote 2 tone look. Makes the winch stand out.

      You want to come up to Louisville and get some trees? Lol

    You might want to think about doing a brake fluid flush. You don't want to have to replace the master cylinder (like I did on my '03 LX). It's pretty straight forward (does take 2 people), and doesn't require you removing the wheels. Although the bleed screws are a little more challenging to get to on the front with the wheels in place.
    You'll need/want about 3 of the large bottles of brake fluid, and access to tech stream. Many tutorials online and on mud.

      I'm actually getting ready to sell the LX470. It is one of the hardest decisions I've made in a while because it is my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. I plan to sell it and buy and older f250 and an 80 series. I need a 3/4 ton truck to haul the dump trailer and will have to get an older "less nice" vehicle to offroad.

      On the plus side, overlanding has never been more popular! I find myself needing/wanting a truck over a 100 series frequently too.

    Hey Wes, nice upgrade. Glad you worked that issue out. It looks so tactical now! lol. I would not paint. It ain't broke so don't fix it... Stay safe.

      I agree, at first I thought about painting it, then I reminded myself it is a tool, and I have a lot of other priorities that need my time and energy.

    The black would look tactical... I am surprised your son wasn't there for the test. Sounded he was excited last episode for the winch.

    If youre ground looses contact while youre welding a charge of electricity can surge through youre vehicle looking for a ground. Keep the ground as close to the place youre welding as possible. Its also good to run a ground from the vehicle to the actual earth as a backup and also keep it close to the welding.

    Well I’ve looked for this upgrade kit and It is no longer offered at Warn Winch. Do you know why they have stopped offering it? Is yours still working?

    • @shaweehillsworkshop4226
      @shaweehillsworkshop4226  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine works great. My best bet is that like many manufacturers right now they are low on man power and supplies so they are probably focusing their efforts on their highest demand products. I imagine if you’re patient it will come back as the workforce gets going again
