Hey Dr. Ekberg, I have a couple of questions.
You mentioned in this video that one of the issues with the liver is that it isn’t producing enough bile therefore fat stays in the liver. I watched other video of yours where you mentioned that apple cider vinegar helps with producing more bile. Is that the best way to remedy this? (Outside of good ole diet and exercise). Also, if you do take some apple cider vinegar regularly, will your body adapt and stop making as much bile than before? Thanks!

@@mercyln6646 Allow me to insert my non-professional experience. I had the worst diet for a couple of months. My food was nearly 100% processed all the time. I went cold turkey on November 1st. The first three days I had a slight head ache and sleep was often interrupted because of frequent bathroom visits. I also had a bit of trouble during morning hours to fast. I ate a little something at around 10.00h in the morning instead of waiting until noon. That only lasted for a week. From the second week on, I have no trouble whatsoever respecting my fast (min. 16/8) and I'm never hungry, which is miraculous since I've been a binge eater for a long time. Eating enough fat is crucial to avoid the cravings.

Thank you Dr. Ekberg for schooling me on my liver. I was diagnosed with NAFLD a decade ago. After seeing 2 gastroenterologists and having my gallbladder removed, they offered no real solution except to lose 10% of my body weight. No nutritional guidance, nothing. It is because of doctors like you that I am steered in the right direction. I started transitioning to a Ketogenic Diet and going to do some Intermittent Fasting and I'm on my way. Why can't traditional physicians think more outside the box instead of lining their pockets and advocating for the pharmaceuticals? Their oaths are to us, not the stock markets. Thank you so much.

      - if nobody ever gets sick, we won’t need to visit physicians and all the doctors will need to get a new line of work. The more people get unhealthy and sick, more profitable the doctors will become.

@@corymichael8445 You can do high protein keto without a gallbladder. I know several people who have had success, but they watch "what fats" they eat very carefully. Lots of salmon and avocados. NO fried foods and certainly no seed oils, which is healthier for all of us. The problem is the low fat foods are generally high sugar.

@Taiwo Omotosho Nope. Itʻs still a sugar. Look into stevia, monkfruit, erythritol, and if you donʻt have dogs, xylitol. (Xylitol is very poisonous to dogs. I have it, but I hide it from myself so I donʻt use it very often, and only with recipes that I would never share with my dog.) Dried fruit, fresh fruit, honey, maple syrup, agave, "table sugar," coconut sugar, any other kind of sugar, all has to go.

I saw a specialist about 4 yrs ago who told me I had chronic liver disease, non-alcoholic. from an old medication I had been put on to help me sleep due to having chronic insomnia. Dr told me I was going to die, my liver was 3 times its normal size, that because I was a type 2 diabetic, I wouldn't be able to get a liver transplant, and I was AB - Blood group. So I went home did juice fasts and went onto a heap of vitamins, 4 yrs later I'm still here. it plays up from time to time, but this specialist didn't even want to see me again, SMH what kind of Dr tells a patient there going to die and nothing can be done for you, then refuses to see you again.

My daughter was diagnosed last May with inflammatory breast cancer. She was a 34 year old breastfeeding mom of a 9 month old baby with no history of breast cancer in the family. It had moved very quickly and metastasized to the liver. She had 5 months of weekly chemo as well as targeted and immunological therapies and as of November her PET Scan was clear - no sign of cancer! Dr. Ekberg: please consider going into academia. You're extremely good at presenting things in an easy to understand format. Invaluable skills for a good teacher.
The material you present here should be the basis for all medical school students. Currently there is no nutrition in the medical school curriculum (not talking about what they teach in nutrition as a major). All medical doctors should understand the link and relationship between our bodies and nutrition, and not just identify symptoms and treat with medication. Goal should be to avoid symptoms.

There's a reason doctors aren't taught nutrition... research the Rockefellers...they purposely took over and dictated the medical education and pharmaceutical industry. You need to understand who creates curriculum in medical schools, how political that process is including the hierarchal power structures that own expertise. Why would they want him when the job of the Industrial Medical Complex is to sell expensive treatments and products to the American public? Standards of Care dictate treatments and they don't include eating beets. These outliers are the only hope for wellness - a word not used in allopathic medicine.

The healing profession has change greatly bc more people are getting sick with diseases and not being educated on real health solutions just needing to pump people with meds a slow poison. My Dr never said anything. I read my chart and it said severe non alcoholic liver disease. I asked the doctor at the next appointment and he just said lose weight as an aside. Just blew me off, I felt. Nothing at all to help me.

      Exactly, Same with my Dr.
I read my chart on a MRI and the radiologist drew attention to the liver while checking lungs after Covid.
I had to bring it up to my Dr. and he blew it off as Fatty liver disease.

This is great but I wish I had seen this video before my liver failed. Two symptoms which you haven't said is vomiting. I was vomiting about 5 times a day as my liver was failing. Also acting strange .i thought I had dementia because I was writing strange things on the white board (im a teacher) and putting my car keys in the fridge..things like that .When I eventually when to the hospital they gave me 12 hours.
Thankfully they found a liver very quickly.
The recovery is hard after a liver transplant. My memory was at zero.
    I couldn't speak or walk.
Im now 6 months after my transplant and I still have a hard time remembering words.
So, take care of your liver 😉

The irony that I have seen in life is that some people obey all the rules never drank never smoked and end up with liver cancer cirrhosis of the liver and lung cancer. I do believe that you should do what you should do to maintain health and quit doing the things that destroy your health, your health is your wealth.
