    Thanks very informative; did you drill into the padding stone under the base plate to put the fixings in? Hammer drill would have loosened the bounding to the underneath and adjacent brickwork. No?

      Yes we drill into the concrete pad or foundation. Use a smaller drill bit and work up to required size . If your worried.

    How much load can those hangers take? The look somewhat flimsy if they're to be holding up a big load. Great video mate, thanks a lot!

      Hello thanks for your comment. There designed to take the load of floor joists. Easy hold 150kg.

    Nice work pal, also good seeing the process. How much would this add to the cost compared to having a bulkhead and just sitting the floorjoists ontop of the RSJ?

    • @pauljamieconstruction1871
      @pauljamieconstruction1871  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks james. Not much different time wise really. Only cost to move services passing through, once it's sunk in the ceiling there is no boxing to do just plaster board as normal. The answer to your question maybe £500-£1000

    How much roughly would a job such as this cost these days? Looking at getting similar done.

      This project was £3k plus vat. Including building control fees. Id be happy to come and do this for you. Send me a dm on instagram. Or email via website .

      @@pauljamieconstruction1871 I have a load bearing wall just like this and ideally no bulkhead. Also with a vertical beam. But you are 5 hours each way!

      @sajulldin5147 i no its a long way lol. You not got any decent builders your way? We can do it but obvs expenses would have to go on the price.

    Why do you need to paint the rsj?

    • @pauljamieconstruction1871
      @pauljamieconstruction1871  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its called anti oxide paint comes in red or grey usually. It stop it from rusting.
