    More About This Video:
App number one is Sketchbook. If you're looking for a versatile app that's perfect for both drawing and photo editing, look no further than Sketchbook. Its extensive toolset and customizable interface make it ideal for artists on the go.
App number two is Clip Studio Paint. If you're into comics and manga, Clip Studio Paint is a fantastic app to bring your characters to life. It provides a multitude of professional tools, including specialized brushes, panels, and 3D models. So you can download Clip Art Studio for free, but you won’t be able to save anything without paying for the app.
App number three is Tayasui Sketches. Those seeking a fun and interactive drawing experience should try Tayasui Sketches. With its realistic brushes and wonderful colors, you can let your creativity flow freely, whether you're drawing landscapes or portraits.
App number four is Paper by We Transfer. It's perfect for quick sketches and doodles, allowing you to capture your ideas spontaneously. But out of all of the apps in this video, this is the most limited option, and probably not worth checking out.
App number five is Art Studio Pro, which has a similar look and feel to a lot of the other drawing apps, and a decent selection of brushes pre build into the app.
App number six is SketchPro. They have some decent features and an AI integration if you pay for the yearly $40 plan, which is rather steep for a drawing app. It does have some redeeming qualities in the streamlined interface.
App number seven is Adobe Fresco, which is extremely powerful for vector illustration. While it is a little bit on the more advanced side, I could still see new to intermediate artists trying this one our if they have an Adobe Subscription already.
App number eight is Vecternator, which is completely free and allows you to draw in vector. While it is extremely limited, it can come in handy for quickly vectorizing your paper sketches.
App number nine is Procreate, one of my personal favorites and an extremely powerful one-time purchase for $12. If you have an iPad, this is the application you want to go with.
App number ten is called Concepts, which is a free flowing endless artboard style sketching app that will be extremely powerful for storyboard artists, comic artists, architects and so much more.

Art studio pro used to get on my nerves bc I was only used to procreate but after procreate kept having little bugs here and there I opened it back up and I forgot how good it was. The pro version is absolutely worth it. Way more options and settings than procreate and brushes are actually better in a lot of ways, I never would have said that a year ago. Procreate UI is definitely better than art studio pro though, in my opinion and it’s just a little easier to navigate but it’s worth the trade off for all the things art studio pro can do! Anyway, nice video, I had forgot about some of these apps bc it’s been so long since I tried them years ago. 😊

Thanks for the helpful review. I have a wacom one rhat I use with PC laptop, but mainly work on an Android tablet, for which there are few options sadly. I have Sketchbook on my tablet, but use Fresco with my Wacom - there's no Android version of Fresco. My tablet has a paper screen protector which gives a nice feel to draw on. The wacom is good to draw on, but not something I can use on my lap as it's quite large. Health issues mean I can't sit at a computer for long so tablet on my lap is easier. I did bite the bullet and buy a 2nd hand iPad to give myself more options as I've been frustrated with only having Sketchbook on the Android. I got a trial version of clip studio with the wacom, but I haven't tried it on the tablet. It seemed a bit daunting to start with!

    • @VincitDesignCo
      @VincitDesignCo  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yea clip studio is very daunting! And it's really limited without the paid version. That's cool to hear about your current process though. I hope things work out with the iPad you bought. Having Fresco on the iPad, and Procreate, is a real game changer.

@@VincitDesignCo I tried both Procreate and ArtStudio Pro and went with ASP. Sadly it has bad marketing, so most people don't even know it, and it's features are quite hidden (to achieve a clean look), but when you figure out where to find your stuff it's extremely powerful. It comes closer to PC software, while not looking too crowded.

    • @VincitDesignCo

Hey there! So the SSD is great for storing extra projects so that you don't take up so much memory on the iPad or tablet itself. I haven't trying running the program itself off of an SSD, but what you can do is store the actual projects on the SSD and free up that space from within the program (so you can free up the space on your iPad).

Great list of apps, Drew! I’ve not used the concepts app but am definitely going to check it out.
I LOVE to draw in procreate and feel my brushes and style are good there, but I love the photoshop like features of Artstudio Pro, I had purchased it before it went subscription so it’s not quite so low on my list.
Fresco is that oddball one for me. I want to love it, I just struggle to. Maybe it’s cause I don’t have tons of PS brushes though…
