There are also other things that play its not only about image quality.
How about better IBIS or weather proofing, better view finder etc etc

Yes you are absolutely right about these other features, but knowing you can get almost the same image out of the XS20, are you willing to pay the extra USD$1200 to get those features. Technically you can get the XS20 with the 23mm, 35mm and 50mm f2 trio for the same price as the XH2S body only, there is no right or wrong answer here, I’m just trying to tell myself I don’t need the most expensive gear and hoping to cure my G.A.S. At the end of the day I did buy both of these cameras and it is a lot of money… and about the thing u pointed out, IBIS i don’t find it to be better tbh, weather proofing is not too important to me because i don’t shoot in heavy rain, view finder is better in the XH2S but definitely not $1200 better, and I like the screen of the XS20 better than the XH2S, just personal opinion, have a nice weekend!

@@kenyudoit hey man i agree with you but what i ment to say it all depends on what is important to a person. If you are out and about a lot street / landscape photography you might want to chose something with weather proofing and strong body. Thats why i say it is not ONLY about image quality. I`m not a fuji user never have for yearsssss i uuse Nikon buut i`m not to happy the way Nikon went. First that silly Z-mount that for me a DX shooter makes totally no sense than now they uuse Z mount for so many years and have less than a handful DX lenses and for those who want to comment silly things like but youu can use FX lenses on a DX body i also know that buut why would i want to carry around or infest in FX lenses when i`m not going to buy an FX camera and i also dont want to carry all that extra weight. I have been looking at the XS 20 buut i`m to scared to take the step knowing about the autofocus problems Fuji has / had for so many months. Even though they seam to have fixed it according to many TH-camrs i see commenting about it this still scares me how can a company bring out firmware after firmware and making things worse. Is some one not doing their job over at Fuji or what ? I also look at Sony now but for DX theyy only make rangefinder style cameras which i dont feel comfortable to use. But on the other hand there is a lot good to say about Sony autofocus perfect and IBIS perfect I never look at Canon maybe because i used Nikon to long and there was always this rivalry between Nikon and Canon that still makes me feel i can not go to take that step (yes i know i`m being silly but it is my personal feeling) Have a great day and happy shooting with your Fujis

@ I agree with u, at the end of the day there is nothing more important than having a camera that feel right to u n fit your needs. For me I will always pick the camera that makes me want to pick it up and go shoot photos, I’ve used a lot of different brands in the past few years at work and felt for a lots of hype on TH-cam. Fuji autofocus have been unreliable for years n I feel they r more focused to create hyped camera than fixing their existing cameras… I honestly had lost confidence in Fuji this year, for my personal use case, I have Fuji Sony and lumix camera but the camera I used most this year is the Sony a7cii, it is definitely not the best camera on paper but it just make me want to take it out and shoot, this is something no TH-camr can convince u with, so maybe try rent a camera to use for a few days before making any purchases just to have a feel of what u like and don’t like using a camera. Have a great day

WOW - I would be extremely disappointed if I had spent all of that money on an X-H2S right now. The dynamic range, colours and detail is a lot better in almost all shots on the X-S20. I have an X-T5 and was going to replace it with an X-H2S for video work, but now I have totally changed my mind. It seems more expensive can actually be worse than cheaper!

i swap to xs20, mainly for photos even though is more video focus camera. all i can say is, the xs20 is good enough for everything unless you need bigger evf, weather sealing and dual sd card slots.
for me, the xs20 is everything i need. small, light, bigger battery, has ibis at decent price (though pricey from where i come from)
if you buy third party lenses you can save even more.

Hello, first of all amazing shots! From your account you seem to have both the A6700 and XS20 and have a question.
Which would you reccomend for my use case? Currently have an X-T30II, 2 TTArtisan lenses and the kit 18-55., as well as the XF 35mm F2. I really want to transition for more video and heard the AF is much better on the XS20 with AI and firmware updates, but nothing compared to the A6700. If I sell my extra gear I can get an XS20 and one Video lens, or sell all my gear and get the A6700+ 18-55 2.8 Sigma. Want a hybrid camera but focus more on Video.
Very conflicted on benefits of Open Gate, AF, etc. With the XS20 essentially I'll get the same IQ as my X-T30, which is fine but definetly want to get more into video/travel filmmaking. Looking for a camera for the next few years. AF has missed quite some shots (May be user error I'm still relatively new). I like the FX30 sensor in the a6700, 4k 120, and Dual Native ISO. Fuji Colors have wowed me lately, but if I shoot in log it won't matter as much.
Just need something reliable, portable, great video & photo and have narrowed it 2. I'm in the Fuji ecosystem which is making me want to stay, but the jump is tempting, let me know your input!

First of all, thank you very much.
I started off with fuji, the XT30 and the kit 18-55, after using and sell a bunch of bodies and lenses... I found the 18-55 kit lens have the best autofocus, so if you want to stay in with fuji, keep that lens. XS20 with the 18-55 kit, pairing that with a fast prime for night shooting will be a good start for video and travel filmmaking, To be honest I am not finding much benefit with Open Gate because I don't shoot those instagram talking head reels or anamorphic, and cropping that for 9:16 is still cropping out a lot of footage, I like posting the 3:2 as if it is a moving photo but that's pretty much it. the biggest upgrade from the XT30II for you will be the IBIS and the battery life.
for the Sony 6700, I think it is a super good value for money, in my experience s-log3 grades easier than f-log2, the AF is still a lot better than fuji, especially touch tracking, I think Sony's AF will still be ahead of the competition for the next 2-3 years. The 4k 120p can only be use in bright day light, otherwise it will be very grainy. the second base ISO will be a little noisier than you expect so don't base your decision just on this one. one more thing is I have used the 18-55 sigma at work, the f2.8 is great but at 18mm there is a big distortion, I guess it is necessary to keep the size down and large aperture.
They are both good cameras, fuji's problem is the autofocus and bad firmware update like the one in xh2s, Sony's problem is the camera will remain what it is without adding any new features like other brands. I hope this help you a little bit with your decision, let me know if you have other things you wanna discuss.

@@kenyudoit Thanks for the response! Quick update: I'm still on the fence. I got great deals for each lined up. $1250 for the a6700 with a 27mm TTArtisan, and $1200 for an X-S20 and 18-55.
For Fuji, I also don't have a need for Open Gate right now, but eventually I want to shoot anamorphic. Battery life will be a huge plus however, and if I eventually upgrade I can keep lenses.
As for Sony, limited firmware updates, but much better AF. Weather sealing is a plus. But glass is expensive and upgrade path would mean selling my APSC lenses, or buying Full Frame right now. I also don't care for AF joystick when there's touch to track. I'm gonna feel both in hand and make a decision within a week, your insight was very helpful!

ALL Fuji cameras on X Mount have the same IQ, they always have. My XT30II was as good as my XT4, my XT4 as good as my XH2S, my XS20 as good as my XS20. The difference on fuji cameras comes down to features. The reason XH2S is much more expensive than the rest is because of stacked sensor, nothing to do with IQ. In fact... XH2S might be slightly worst than the rest because of this (though I doubt many would be able to tell in a blind test). It's simple, you either need stacked sensor benefits or you don't.

    • @kenyudoit
      @kenyudoit  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

So here is my thought process, I know the fuji camera used to have the same sensor in the same generation of camera up to generation 4, therefore the same IQ, but things change in generation 5, xs20 is using the older gen 4 sensor and the xh2s is using the one and only stack sensor that have 14bit read out and the dynamic range tested by cineD show the xh2s have 13.4 stops compare to 10.8 stops of the xs20. So i got curious and made this video to see what will happen in a real world test.

I think camera manufacturers have to wake up and see the phone’s camera r so good nowadays that intuitively user will expect the video coming out of their camera to be stable and looking great, hope this help
