@@thefilmalliance Astounding work on the production quality yes, but way too little actual research done beforehand. I'm not trying to be rude, but so many of you TH-camrs are way too quick at making the video itself before actually learning how the stuff you're making the video about works. You DID put an amazing effort into the video production itself, but you didn't spend enough time trying getting the actual foundation (information) right. Try the other way around.

Switched from Sony system to Fuji. I still have a lot to learn, but I'm very happy with my choice. I think the Sony is excellent if you have to do a lot of post-processing afterwards. If you want to get almost ready-made material from the camera and use it immediately, then Fuji has won.

As just a casual shooter, it’s hard to beat Fuji in my opinion. I don’t shoot raw and do not want to do any post processing what so ever, so the film simulations that Fuji provide is really fun with very little effort. I wonder why other companies don’t provide more profiles? Sony has S-cinetone which is nice, but even just 5 more useable fun profile for casual shooting would do wonders for 95% of casuals camera enjoyers.

For beginners, I might lean towards recommending sony over fuji. I use the xs20 but it works for me because I've not been pampered with sony autofocusing powers so fuji felt sufficient from my previous nikon dslr and olympus camera. However, I already had the pleasure of trying out sony auto focusing system from A1 and a7iv and it is alien technology (ridiculous!). I'm not selling my fuji though, love the film sims and flexibility of having a huge community sharing their recipes.

I am a Fuji user and lately I shortly tested a6700. My findings were better IBIS on A6700 and option of Catalyst Browse is such a great feature. I will take that extra step and ditch gimbal totally. Autofocus was another big one. People are saying that Fuji is catching up but nope they are not. With Fuji you always have that little devil on the back of your head that is saying "maybe this shot is out of focus or maybe not, maybe you just lost this crucial moment of your beloved kid blowing candles on their second birthday party". It was such a liberating feeling when I tested A6700 and I knew that everything will be perfectly in focus especially in video. Colors for photos it's a tie where with RAWs I easily got great colors from both. Colors in video I preferred Fuji by a lot but I totally don't know how to setup Sony. I find it strange that you mention magenta cast on Sony (is that in S-log specifically ?). My experience is still yellow/green cast in Sony while Fuji many times have too much magenta especially on skin tones (perfect example of this is in latest video of Camera Conspiracies about Viltrox 75 f1.2 - he compares Fuji to A7SIII). As mentioned in this video you really need to be cautious of highlights in Fuji as they are really easy to blow out. Fuji is more ergonomic but I really love smaller rangefinder style of Sony plus weather sealing. Rolling shutter, 4k120, 4k60 with no crop and photo/video switch are also big pluses for A6700. LCD screen is a big plus for Fuji though - makes shooting experience much nicer in daylight. Although I love Fujis colors and fun factor I think I will switch to A6700 or A7C II. Autofocus being the biggest reason.

    • @MrRafalEn
      @MrRafalEn ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@shephyk.u2573 It really depends what you are looking for in a camera. If you shoot stills or do some video as well. Do you shoot people, street, sports. What kind of lenses you already have. I can tell you on my example that I shoot X-E3 + 35 f1.4 since 6 years. Now I have kids which are very demanding for autofocus and wanted to do some video as well. Those are the only reasons why I look for an upgrade, especially video as X-E3 without IBIS is not very well suited for this task. Apart from that I wouldn't change as sensor technology shows nothing new. Meaning you won't gain great improvements in image quality. Usually it is better to invest into lenses and travel unless current body is limiting you severely.

I have an FX3 & a ZV-E1 but bought an X-T5 for stills (the X-S20 was not out or I would have got that instead). The Fuji stills experience its second to none. Not only can you shoot with the gorgeous simulations, but if you shoot in RAW you can apply simulations after the fact on your computer. But I dislike the video out of the X-T5. It is too sharp (like the 4k on the A7IV); I just love - for video - the inky, organic look from the FX3/ZV-E1 (& AzS3/FX6) sensor. Sony for video & Fuji for stills! Awesome video BTW; just so much value here (as there always is with your videos). Thank you !

If not, Red, Canon or Sony is probably the way to go.

Great comparison. Thanks!! I have the X-S20, upgraded from the X-S20 and I also own the X-H2.
Menu issues: I add those difficult to find menu items to the MY menu slot at the bottom of the menu list. Don't know if Sony has this feature.
AF: Sony wins hands down if for the simple fact that Fuji separates face/eye detection from subject detection. I have to customise a button to switch between them. Fuji has auto subject detection but only in fully automatic mode. Perhaps this will change in a firmware update. The X-S20 has the best AF of all Fuji cameras.
Bottom line from the comparisons I've seen: Sony for AF, Fuji for image quality and the film simulations.

      @grafixnetz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@ancient3186 Depends on budget and purpose. The X-H2 is a weatherproof workhorse. However, you'll be dealing with 40mp files. That means you'll also need more disk storage space. The X-S20 is more than capable of doing what the X-H2 can in MOST respects.
The only real drawback I have for the X-S20 is lack of weatherproofing. I like that it's smaller.
I now have both and it would be difficult to say which one I would sell. I USE the X-s20 more.

Great video! Both wonderful cameras, but I disagree about them being close when it comes to specs. Here are the notable advantages of each from my understanding. According to this, I’d say it isn’t as close as it may seem
    XS20 ($1,299):
    -Shoots 4k DCI 24/30/60, and 6k 24/30
    -6k Open Gate recording
-Shoots True 24 frames per second
    -Has ProRes Raw recording output
    -Nearly 3x the burst capability (30fps v 11fps)
    -16bit raw files (stills) v a6700’s 14bit.
-Uncompressed RAW shooting (non existent on the sony)
-*Automatic* Subject Detection (birds, planes, bikes, cars, insects, people, dogs, etc)
-Compatible with fuji’s cooling fan attachment
    -Built in flash
    -80% higher resolution LCD
-50% more battery life (which is a huge difference in the field)
    -Premium APSC lenses
    -Has a joystick
    -$100 less
    A6700 ($1,399):
-4k 120 (although at a sensor readout smaller than m4/3)
    -No crop 4k 60
-Able to use Sony’s fullframe lenses
    -Focus breathing compensation
    -Autoframing in video
    -Import LUTs

Awesome video.I basicly want a light setup for traveling, that would do better photos than my old Note 10+ (I have no other cameras), so I was leaning more towards sony a6700 with sigma 18-50 lens, but after watching this video started wondering about xs-20. In my local market sony (only body) basicly is like 320 EUR more than a fuji xs20. So should I give in and buy a fuji with a same lens combo, or sony a6700 is worth it those extra 300EUR?

Fuji XS20 user. Regarding the Ulanzi fan…game changer! That fan deserves a whole TH-cam video on its own
Before the battery died (75% charge), I got 1 hour and 15 minutes on 6.2K open gate, 30fps, indoors (with my AC broken), while filming my training session. Ironically enough, I managed to over hear before the camera did 😂
You gotta keep the fan charging to get the most power out of it. DON’T charge the camera while recording, this only adds heat to the system. I can’t imagine the Fuji fan doing any better, nor do I need it to, especially when factoring in the considerable price difference!

Great comparison! I switched from Fuji to Sony earlier this year; based on my experience with both, this comparison was well-thought. Currently own an FX30 and am getting the A6700 soon as a B cam.
For me, it came down to which system made it easier to tackle the projects I was starting to work on, which is now primarily lots of video stuff. I don't think Fuji is awful for video, but after using some Sony gear I really loved how their products integrated with my workflow, especially with the current lineup allowing for integrating LUTs into the cameras.

Hi Joe. I'm a Sony owner (ZV E10 owner). I'm researching a new camera and the choice would be the 6700 or the XS20, obviously with preference to Sony as all my lenses are E-Mount and the accessories are specific. Yet there is something that pushes me towards Fuji. That slightly slower autofocus, the film simulations, the colors. It all looks nicer than on Sony. Why? Joe, save my wallet please :-)

Great video, I just subscribed! I like how you speak, and you come from a creator point of view instead of a gear review, which I like because it sounds more real. Some gear review channels hype up features too much so it gives you the idea that you need it but in real life it affects your shooting experience just a little.
I would choose the a6700 because the weather sealing is so important when you are traveling. The last thing you want is to be in a good location and not being able to shoot. You have to make the best of it when you travel because you may never be back for better weather conditions.
It was surprising to see the difference in sharpness though, it's a bit concerning, but I guess you only notice it if you zoom in a lot or print big.
