Great Video. Hard to tell from a TH-cam Video if the new coating / reflection handling is really better than on my G2. It's for sure different. Is the G3 black as the G2 or is it the same issue as with the QD Oleds in a bright room? Thanks!
Wondering the same thing. The Forbes early look article said that there may be some black level raise. If you have any new information on this please let me know.
May have to pick this up for my living room. Picked up the G2 for the bedroom because I can control lighting in there much better but this seems to work great! Great video!
Looking excellent. This tv is a winner I’m in love 😊 the MLA tech is working incredibly to give amazing brightness and colors and lg os even better than before

Looks extremely Bright 😎, definitely a leap over previous LG Oleds. Very Nice……. Thanks for the great video from talking points , camera work and overall presentation/information 🔥
One thing you should mention when you turn off logo dimming and all protection of the screen is that while its true you never had a burn in issue it is also very true that you change your OLED every year or so.... so yeah not sure we can really trust your experience in usage since you are a special case of person who buy the new model almost every year while normal people will try to keep their tv the longest. Therefore, I strongly advise people not turning off logo dimming and at least keeping it at low and same thing with screen shift.
There hasnt been a single report from anyone with a WBE panel which started in 2020 having permanent image retention. Even using one as a monitor with all dimming including in the menu for a few thousand hours. It's all about the usage of the display. Screen shift will not help at all, and logo dimming only if the same static images are not being changed and on screen for very long periods of time, ie hundreds to thousands of hours.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations Great video! I've subscribed 😊 Interesting all this stuff about pixel shifting but I can't find anything confirming that there is a loss of resolution when enabled online? TV looks great. I somewhat wish they released a new model every 2-3 years. I find that there’s not a massive leap between 1-2 years. I have the c2 and for me it gets bright enough. I sometimes have to put the reduce blue function in as I do suffer with eye strain/ dry eyes. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
MUCHAS GRACIAS for going through the Quick Setting Edit screen, I was curious how many "picture" controls you could put on the 10-card popup. Looks like plenty, though a few more (like turning DTM on/off, Expression Enhancer on/off) would be handy.... Maybe next year, LG?
I've had (picture move) set to on - going back to my Plasma days, though I had PCs and consoles connected to my Plasma sets, and never got any burn-in. As for 6-7 years of using my C6, I have boatloads of burn-in, though I never noticed the picture shifting, where I could notice it on my Plasma sets, and now notice movement on my A2. So either (picture move) has always been broken on my C6 or LG decided to increase the movement on their newer panels.
Very eagerly waiting for your review and specifically "Gaming Review". Would like to see how it holds for gaming specially with Service Menu Options to control dimming gone. Will the in settings options be enough to lock its brightness for Gaming. Let's see.
On the C1 it would move the entire scree/image around by a feww pixels to the left/right/up or own. But as far as sharpening the picture, that Im not so sure off. Dont know about the G3 though, if they changed it.
Hey brother, does the new MLA panels have a polarizing filter? Are the blacks washed out a bit if any light source is present in the room? I know the QD OLED panels have an issue with the problem i mentioned, how about MLA? Oh and how about DTS? Can the TV internally decode DTS or just pass it through? Thanks!
Nice video, oled always have a great picture quality i still have my 65inch CX until now working almost as new no issues of burn in, but maybe 3 more years before buying new tv.

Thanks Classy. Can you tell if LG has improved the smooth gradation over the G2 and hopefully caught up to and as good as Sony's smooth gradation processing on bit starved content?
Thanks for the quick dive Classy! Looking forward to your longer term findings, mostly for the dark shadow low luma performance & tweakability as well as the Static APL dimming for gaming in SDR/HDR. Peak Brightness High available in SDR? One can hope.

I was about to buy the LG G2 77 in and I believe it’s 3600 but just checked to see when the new model was coming out and saw that this G3 can be ordered now and will be out soon and believe the 77 in is like 4500. Is it worth to get the new one or is there really no difference?
There is a noticeable difference in HDR performance for high APL. But the G3 is pretty buggy right now and will need some firmware updates to get it working as smoothly as the G2.
If you can go up a size as well, that would be best to get a more immersive size plus better HDR. If not, I would still say its a nice upgrade but wait a few months for prices to come down.
If you already have a G2 then no I wouldn't upgrade. If you haven't made a purchase yet I would consider it, but recommend waiting for a couple months for a price drop.

Black does not raise across the screen like QD OLED. There is a polarizer that stops the light from spreading.

Upgrading to the G3 from a CX. I expect an nice uplift in picture quality, but the CX has been a real nice quality TV.
