“Presenting Unova’s waifu, Skyla”
**cries in elesa**
And shauntal too
Litterally any other waifu from unova:
Am I a joke to you?
Skyla is waaaaay better waifu material than elesa
I mean, he did say pilot waifu
*cries in Roxie*
Unova had the best gym leaders because most of them did more then just be gym leaders. Many of them actually meet up with the player and save them from the Sages, and have meetups about team plasma.
Many leaders pursue team plasma with the player, and others have heartfelt moments before the gym battle such as Skyla or Elesea. They are all more then just gym leaders
Mystic: Marlon is the strongest Unova leader
Elesa: aM i A jOkE tO YoU????????
Wait, wait. I click on this video and SHIRTS weren't on sale?
My list:
1) Dreden(his swords dance haxorus)
2) Elesa(I found her harder in black and white than 2nd part)
3) Leonora(many people probably did not have many pokemon while facing her and hypnosis is irritating)
4) Clay(His excadrill)
5) Cheren(if you don't use riolu, it can be hard)
6) Skyla(Skarmory make the battle difficult)
7) Marlin(I had magnezone so battle was easy for me)
8) Brycen(It's ice type gym, one of the worst defensive type)
9) Roxy(I had magnemite so it was pretty easy)
10)Bugsy
11) the chef's gym( in my playthorugh my elemental monkey had fainted after dealing some damage so it was my starter who had defeated both pokemon )
I swept Burghs entire gym with flame charge from pignite and brycens entire gym with arm thrust/flamethrower from emboar
Mystic: recommending teams and stretagies to beat the gym leaders.
Me: Hehe overleveled team goes zzzzzt
cheren should be WAAAAAYY higher on this list. work up was a pain to deal with
cheron is also difficult because normal types are usually pretty damn strong since normal moves are neutral vs most types youll have by then
Unova actually had pretty great gym leaders
And when the region is in danger they actually get involved unlike the rest
Sword and Shield had some trash ones
@@melissaardon2294 I disagree, Raihan and Bea/Allison were difficult (especially with there gigantamaxes)
Melissa Ardon sword & shield had some of the best ???
@Bomber D awesome I found them quite easy, I didn’t have a single game over, I almost got one from an Onix in the Wild Area in Shield
Unova is criminally underrated, really love replaying it
It’s not underrated it’s hated as HELL.
Unova is so good though 🥺
Highly agreeable. Unova is my favorite region
Black/White 2 is my favorite main series game and I’m currently playing thru Challenge Mode
I just did a monotype steel run
Unova had some of the best designed Gym Leaders, in my opinion
Yessir 😍
Completely agree
Agreed!!
Also it had hands down the best gym ideas in the whole series.
Huck Agar-Johnson you could say marlon was a surfer or life guard or something also you forgot Roxie she was a musician
I would love to see the ranking of every 1st gym leader in every generation.
If the kahunas count hala is definitely one of the highest
I ruined you 69th like
samir kedoui *Laughs in Popplio’s Disarming Voice.*
samir kedoui if we count it like that, wouldnt every trial captain count?
So tham it would be gay guy the normal user
@@QuokkaCore Actually all Kahuna is weak to the Popplio line
Hala - Disarming Voice
Olivia - Water type move
Nanu - Fairy type move
Hapu - Water type move (And Fairy type for Flygon)
Unova is different that’s what makes it a fantastic region seriously underrated
Yeah the unova tv series is actually what introduced me to the pokemon franchise. Then I became more familiar by playing a game on roblox Pokemon Brick Bronze
@@xShadow_MD I miss that game
@@notalbvin6845 yeah i miss my OG team
Fallen unova trash
Hell yeah :)
I find Unova Gym Leaders challenging overall
Yeah..and then x and y come along
I think for the most part, the reason that these games are too easy is because this was gamfreak's first time creating the permanent exp share so they ended up making it broken as hell
@@desiterdane4286 And the trainers in the game don't have good movesets... I mean, it becomes predictable when most trainers don't bother to fill up all four moveslots on their Pokémon even in the lategame.
Same here, I thought it was a decent challenge with the EXP changes they made.
@Desiter Dane Sword and Shield had some trash gym leaders
Definitely the most challenging gym leaders. I love every one of them. Skyla is easily the best (and favorite gym leader of all).
I think the unova gym leaders had the most to do with the story
Yeah, literally every gym leader (expect cilan, chilli and cress) has soemthing to do with the actual story in the original black and white
The trial captains in Sun and Moon were also this way
When they Avengered their way to help you *chills*
Hm, Lenora should've been higher though...
Eagan Wright the only gym battle I lost....
Eagan Wright got it second time though
Lost more than 10 times to her
Right now Unova is not underated anymore.
Happy gen 5 noises
The reason why elesa isn't the strongest gym leader in this list its because mystic didn't mention her bw1 team 😂
Nah elesa isn’t great. She gets walled by any ground type. Not close to leaders like dreyden, marlon or clay.
Bw1 elesa with two pikachu clones is annoying af
In my opinion Roxie is the coolest.
I like Roxie because she's one of the few Poison Type Gym leaders 💜
Poison is my favorite type and it sucks how underrated it is
retweet her design is literally god tier
@@liamheneghan4977 shes actually the reason why I liked poison.
I like Roxie, don't get me wrong. She's my favorite gym leader second only to Drayden.
But her battle is stupid easy when you can easily find a magnemite in the workplace to the south of Virbank City. It's steel typing means that poison type moves won't affect it and all other moves that roxie has on her pokemon (Normal, Bug, and Dark) will do hardly anything to Magnemite.
Honestly, she, Lenora, and Straiton Leaders are the weakest imo.
Edit: I paused the video before he discussed why you might consider lenora stronger IF you decide not to use Magnemite.
If this were the 5th or 6th gym leader, then I think using a pokemon just based on typing that you just caught would be ridiculous.
The problem is that this is B2/W2, and you fight a poison type leader, a grass leader, a flying leader, a dragon leader, and a water leader. All of these can be weak to a full powered up Magnezone, which I had by the time I fought Skyla.
Why WOULDN'T you use Magnemite?!
@@ResurgentRaven what about Brysion?
Those goddamn volt switching rats.
Doesn't change the fact that my favourite gym leader from Unova is Elesa.
Mystic: *Gets antidotes*
Magnemite: Am I a joke to you?
4:56
@@Sazzyjo3 It's a joke bro xD
I was gonna comment that, goddamnit
@@flooffys Sorry m8
2020 comedian
Calling it now- Elesa or Lenora win.
Edit: Cheren was soo difficult and lenora was a pain at least better than marlon, roxie, skyla. Brycen was easy but gave me trouble in a wedlock and killed two of my pokemon.
The only reason I prefer the unova gym leaders over any other is because they’re the most interesting bunch of them all
Straight up, Skyla and Marlon were two of the easiest gyms in my playthrough, as I remember having the traded Gigalith for Skyla and my Zebstrika for Marlon. I might have been over leveled at the time too, but I'm not sure. It was a while ago.
I'm suprised they're not at the bottom. Serperior or Liligant just destroy Marlon and one can pretty much beat Skyle with Tynamo alone
I beat them both easily with my Galvantula ngl
I one shot sweeped their whole team with galvantula in bw and with magnezone in bw2
Having both a galvantula and a serperior made those gyms easy
Mystic: gets antidotes
Magnemite: am I a joke to you
Haha lol
Is this a joke in a joke
Got him!
Ah, so *YOU* are the 4:56
You can also get Lucario.
4:56
Mystic must have had fun doing this
When I played through Black 2, Elesa and Clay were far harder than Marlon. My team was Emboar, Azumarill, Leavanny, Swoobat, a pokirus Krookodile (my MVP), and I kept swapping between Magnezone and Beartic.
Elesa in black and white 1 is strongest with 2 emolgas imo
I agree. She whooped my ass like 3 times in a row.
Lol i destroyed her with a ground type mon having dig + Rock tomb in both games. But i guess you guys had no ground types.
In B2W2, I used a Trapinch with Magnitude and Rock Slide
@@getspamed2208 nah, I’ve just used sandile about 7 times now. I’d prefer to use some other pokemon
I thought Marlon was the easiest. I swept through his team with Serperior and I wasn't overleveled.
The games are sick, but the anime is just stale.
Yeah
Aaryan Naresh both games are anime are awful
CokeCan the games are so meaningful and beautiful, especially the story and plot with N. I don’t appreciate you saying that the games are stale. The anime isn’t the best though.
Elesa got a huge nerf in Black2 and white2. In Black1 and white1, Her two emolgas are immune to ground type so you basically have to use rock type moves
Cheren should probably be higher...
Also what marlon was soo easy lmaoooo
Burgh's Leavanny actually destroyed half my team.
Them crit razor leafs was no joke
If you chose tepig then he is a piece of cake
And that's why you guys should use emboar
Oresti Ismaili no way lmao
@@oresti9271 Emboar is an obeese pig and not good for the elite 4, Samourott all the way.
Everyone here knows that every last gym leader is very powerful before league cups.Still Skyla was good.
Whitney strongly disagrees
I beat skyla yesterday with underleveled mons but still there were some problems
PurePotato - Fortnite
Whitney it’s a joke if you have heracross
Who thinks Unova is underrated? Some of the mons are quite bad, but some are excellent like Excadrill and Zoroark
I chose Snivy as my starter. Roxie was hell. Without exaggerating (and I’m a little embarrassed to say it) I lost to her about a good 10+ times. Then on, everyone else was pretty challenging, but not like Roxie was. That moment made me wish I had a fire type at the time to deal with that bug pokemon
You could have caught a magnemite in Virbank complex
She literally can't touch you
Edit: And also you can catch a growlithe in Virbank complex that knows ember
Athi Narayanan my 12 year old brain did not want to do that. I kept using my same team in hopes of winning and wanting to get through the story so I can get Zekrom ASAP 😂
@@athi1970 That will also most likely learn Flame Wheel before Roxie.
probably the only time i used Pansear
If you have a servine and use growth 3 times, you can beat her with return
Brine: Deals more damage if Target is under half health
Metal Claw: I raise my users attack
Mystic: Brine deals more damage the more damage the User takes, and Metal claw raises the users defense.
Me: 0.o you good bruh?
*He must’ve had a migraine saying that*
Don’t worry, I was saying that as a joke
Ok I have never disagreed with a list more. Brycen is by far the easiest gym leader, I went against him when I had only two Pokémon both in red health and I still won. Elesa is the most difficult, simply because as the 4th gym leader she has a fully evolved team, and unless you want to have to train up a trade evolution Pokémon you have little choices for super effective moves. As well, Lenora should be much higher as you would usually only have around two Pokémon at this stage, and watchog will usually one hit ko one of those Pokémon with retaliate
You forget how absurdly strong lenora's watchog can be during the first turn its out with that retaliate
Prediction time again!
From weakest to strongest (assuming this goes for all gym leaders, BW and 2): Roxie, Lenora, (Chilli, Cress, Cilan,) Burgh, Cheren, Brycen, Marlon, Skyla, Clay, Elesa, Drayden/Iris
Edit: Didn’t get anything, true. But this is just wrong, I’m sorry.
"Marlon is the toughest Unova gym leader." Serperior:
Me:laughs in ampharos
Honestly, I think Elesa's Black/White team is the more annoying one.... In Black 2/White 2, her Emolga doesn't know Aerial Ace anymore...and her entire team in the originals just stops you from using Grass types....
Idk if it was just me, but lenora never missed hypnosis
She secretly gave his watchog wide lens
Mystic: Marlon is the hardest gym leader.
Me: *laughs in T. Punch/Discharge Ampharos*
Unova is my favorite, underrated Pokémon, underrated plot, and of course, underrated people.
I don’t get why it’s so hated, I love so many of the gym leaders from Unova, Mainly Drayden, Brycen, Cheren and Elesa
Uhm, I think Mystic just contradicted everything he had said in the past videos of Unova gym leaders. (like Cheren being the most difficult to deal with in the sequels according to him)
I think elesa should be the first
I think Brycen is one of the easiest ones. As you said, Vainillish is not a threat. Then, there's Cryogonal. The thing is that it has a lot special defense, but the Pokémon that are strong against it are all literally physical attackers. Fire tipes: Emboar and Darmanitan; fight tipes: Conkeldurr, Sawk, Thoh, Scrafty; steel type: Klingklang, Ferrothorn; Rock: Gigalith Carracosta and Archeops. At the end, Beartic it's also not a big threat. Brine could be a problem but apart of that is not that difficult.
On the other hand, I think Leonora deserves to be way higher. When you fight her, all the fight type Pokémon you can use are all physical atackers. Her Herdier has intimidation, which is a problem if you start with one of them. Also, her watchog is pretty fast, probably faster than any of your fight types. If she uses hypnosis, then pray so your Pokémon can tank its boosted retaliate
A lot of these early rankings are put down with “IF you do this” or “IF you grab this Pokémon”... But in my opinion the three that your ranked as the weakest are actually some of the best in the region
Elesa was actually the one who gave me a hard time… because I wasn’t prepared and my guys were under-leveled. Not even my Sandile stood a chance. However, after some extensive training in the Lostlorn Forest (I caught a Venipede along the way), I beat her on my third try.
So, yeah, I feel like Elesa should probably be the strongest. Marlon didn’t really seem all that hard; my Emboar’s ThunderPunch and Magnezone’s Volt Switches were able to beat them. I know it sounds weird to send a Fire-type in a Water Gym, but it’s coverage.
Roxy, Skylar & Elisa are 3 of my all time favourite gym leaders! I just love their aesthetic
Marlons easy especially for trainers woth serperior, if not then elecktross, galvantula, jolteon, ampharos, electabuzz/vire ,leafeon, roserade, virizion, tangrowth or even leavanny for pro's i wouldve replaced marlon with drayden
Metal claw doesn't raise Defense. It raises Attack.
Mystic Umbreon, I beat all of Marlon's pokemon in one hit, and I was under leveled, too. I was using an Ampheros, though
Lenora is one of the hardest wdym
For Burgh, you can also get a Darumaka just north of town which also works great.
I always thought 2nd and 3rd gym were the hardest! I’m going to be doing this series soon on my channel, so thanks for the info :)
When I read the title I went, so the first three in the list will be Marlon, Burgh and the trio. Seriously, of the about 5 times I've fought Marlon, I've never had even a speck of difficulty with him (including my very first time ever playing a pokemon game). Now this is probably helped by the fact that I tend to use strong grass types, but I will never understand how anyone could lable Marlon the hardest in Unova
I enjoyed bw2 more than any other generation
I love pokemon world tournament
But my favorite is gen 4
I loved everything about platinium cynthia gym leaders elite four team galaxy ...
the pokedex was awesome too
Bro I lost to Cheren and Lenora so many times 😂 Edit: They should be higher than Roxie imo
Me sitting in the corner with my over leveled Emboar that sweeped everything in one try
Your picks for the 2 hardest gym leaders weren't so horrible for me honestly. Clay was a decent challenge and Marlon was a bit tougher. Now, if we're talkin' elesa and drayden...oh god, those 2 were a nightmare. BW1 elesa especially was a long, miserable, annoying volt switch fest, made easier in the sequel (which I'm real glad for). drayden's ENTIRE gym was a pain in the nuts, gym trainers included. I had to get a haxorus (who ended up overleveled at the end of it) just to deal with all the dragon types.
I honestly feel like Cheren is an extremely strong contender for strongest Gym Leader. Yes, he may be the first one you fight in B2W2, but I think that (especially, but not exclusively, on Challenge Mode, Nuzlockes and so on) his power level/available options ratio makes for a deadly opponent.
Finding a Riolu is probably your best way of fighting him (again, not guaranteed in challenge runs with limited encounters) and even then Palm Force is level 15 so it's going to be a pain to train due to no Audinos available until after you've gotten that badge.
Challenge Mode Elesa (heck, her in general) is definitely runner-up material because where Cheren's difficulty stemmed from limited options, she makes up for in raw power: 30 IVs in everything everyone, a team with only 1/2 Ground-weak Pokémon (Zebstrika, Flaaffy too I believe in Challenge Mode), smart AI... almost makes you forget you just went through a cave and desert with Drilbur, Sandile and in B2W2 even Sandshrew and Trapinch.
Marlon is a terrible gym leader. His entire team is weak to grass AND electric, because his entire team has terrible coverage with their whole THREE MEMBERS! All three are super slow and have no place to be the only members on the team of the final gym leader. I think that's part of why Marlon is so forgettable.
I believe Elesa is the hardest by far. In black and white she has two Emolgas meaning any ground type moves you thought you could use are useless. Also the fact her Pokémon are so fast means they can volt switch in and out of battle at any point. Brought in a rock type to hit emolga? Volt switch into Zebstrika. The only reason I beat it was because I had a Sandile with rock tomb.
I loved Unova so much and honestly she sticks out so much to me and tbh to this day idk what happened or how but Lenora the first time I battled her , handed me my first loss to a gym leader since childhood , like I think I’ve mentally blocked it out so that’s why I don’t remember how it happened but I ran in . She beat me . Then the next time I had 0 issues , for some reason idk if it was RNJesus or whatever but it was jarring 😂 since then I’ve never taken a leader lightly again just in case . My pride can’t handle another defeat like that
Best generation in my opinion
You don’t even need to use magnemite for the rest of the game though. Your team doesn’t have to be the first 6 Pokémon you catch, you can switch them around. Just like you would do for an hm slave, you can catch magnemite and use it for Roxie and then box it afterwards
I beat Marlon first time with just my Serpirior. I had a full team of six, I used just my Serpirior and won first try. And then watched Marlon drown himself in shame.
7:45 Brine doesn't work that way. Brine is a finishing move, in the same vein as Fell Stinger. If the opponent is at half health or less, Brine does double the damage
Burghs leavanny is crazy, Lenora is fucking tough, Cheren can be horrible to fight, not too sure about this one chief
Marlon is easy af, there are some GOOD grass types is unova.
Lol I swept through Marlon and Clay's teams. Lenora, Elesa and Drayden would be the toughest in my opinion.
My Top 3 Favourite Gym Leader in Unova most off all are...
1.)Drayden
2.)Roxie
3.)Marlon
all the gym leaders that helped you and made a sick entrance in N's castle as you're being cornered by the seven sages are straight to s tiers
It’s funny how this came out while I was playing Pokémon black and am facing a gym leader right now
Galar and unova are the only gym leaders with personality
Tbh Elesa and Marlon were the hardest ones for me by far! I think I may have lost to Noura and Drayden as well but Marlen was reltless and Elesa was so strong.
I one hit k.oed Clay's Excadrill on my first try. That was a good day for me.
Also Marlin was the easiest gym leader for me in the entirety of Unova.
White 2 was my first pokemon game and I thought Elesa was inncredibly hard
I find it funny that I decided to restart my White 2 game yesterday and now a video appears about Unova region
It's comical that I absolutely love Unova and this comes out ON my birthday!
I just replayed black and I went against bugsy with only servine and drilbur and it was not fun
I'm not first
Im not last
But when mystic posts
I click fast
;)
Brine hits for 2x damage if you're below half health; not if the jellicent is
who else started with gen 5?
Everyone: Gen5 had very easy gym
Me playing volt white 2 :🤔
Imo elesa is the hardest , I ve never had trouble with clay or marlon but elesa hits really hard
Marlon was hands down the easiest for me
If we're being perfectly honest I think clay should have been right after the triplets! By the time you get to clay you should have your fully evolved starter and it should be a walk in the park regardless of any starter you pick!
I enjoyed the list. The only changes I see are switching brycen with cheren, and drayden with Marlon
Mystic: Gets antidotes
Magnetite: “Am I a joke to you?”
Ha, totally got him.
Elesa was a pain in the butt for me
how did marlon get first place, he's so easy?
I was so badly beaten by burgh that by the time I had completed the gym, my servine evolved into serperior and was level 75 when I faced ghetsis
RIP your opponents
same happened to me in emerald i choose treecko and by the time i defeated Winona it was level 55
Ah yes, I am, in fact, higher than average for difficulty. Thanks!
Can you do a ranking on the gym leaders with the same types like. The electric type gym leaders as an example Theres Elesa, Wattson, Volkner, Clemont, Sophocles & Lt. Surge! But do it with all the leaders if there’s more than 1 gym leaders of that type! 💕
for the electric gym leaders i;d say the list goes like this
1.)Elesa
2.)Lt.Surge
3.)Wattson
4.)Volkner
5.)Clemont
6.)Sophocles
don't get me wrong Sinnoh is my favourite region and generation 4 my favourite generation but Volkner's team is just carried by Jolteon that has better Speed and Sp.Atk than all the other members.Still , a Garchomp can easily handle all of his members. At least Elesa has an ace in her hands for Ground types
Pokemon black 2 is my favourite Pokemon game 🎮
