I’m so glad Wally made number one on this list. He’s a personal favorite with Silver being my second because of backstory and that he uses Ralts my favorite non starter in that generation. I was so glad they updated him when the second release of ruby and emerald came out.
I always loved fighting Barry; I would always go to the survival area to have a rematch with him after I beat platinum :)) I’m not surprised that he was one of the stronger rivals too lol
Next to Blue, Barry is unironically my favorite rival. I don't really know why, he's just entertaining. (Wally is a close third - I really liked them all).
Barry is a very comforting character for me because he is funny and seriously acts his age and it’s cool seeing him and his Pokemon grow to develop a lot and that’s class :3 he has grown on me because I’m autistic and I place some sort of resemblance of me in him and I would thus kin him and just like I love him and he means a lot to me and I just can’t change him for anyone
I agree that Hau is a strong rival. I mean, remember your fight with him in Malie City in Sun and Moon? In that fight in particular, his Raichu was a MONSTER.
I saw wally coming to be #1 and I was still happy he is. The dude gave me a serious challenge that made me want to play further and actually try for a bunch of NPCs. Such a good generation.
Barry freakin ambushed me when I only had my level 50 Alakazam in front of the Pokémon League. I still beat him with 0 hp lost. I GAINED hp because of shell bell.
When I saw Wally at the number 1, I screamed "YES!" with tears of happiness. Wally is my absolute favorite rival of all-time and my most difficult battle to face. If you think this guy is a pushover? No no no no... His team was a sight to behold, he sweep my team not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE times! It's ridiculously crazy that I'm not even joking! Overall these placements are great imo and seeing Wally taking the crown not just me being bias, but also facts. Wally is THE rival I love forever!
I don’t get why people always want mean rivals. I mean sure they are fun to beat but, rivals like Wally are much more stronger in many different ways. And his nice attitude compensates with a fantastic team
@@superryan9551 ı love wally too because His most strongest team has 2 pokemon that are in my top 10 (6.gallade 5. Garchomp) And that team was an godtşer competitive team and u really like him because of him
Exactly. Wally's team in the Battle Maison was so competitive I thought I was fighting in smogon not a pokemon game. 😂 Also Wally's ORAS battle theme slaps so hard I think my favorite rivals are Wally, Cheren, Hugh, and Barry.
I agree with your list but I would have put Bianca over trace. Cheren and Bianca and Hugh are still my favorite rivals and I feel like if they had access to pokemon from other gens they would be higher. N and Blue were the hardest for me personally. Don't agree with the Wally spot but everyone has different experiences so I understand.
I thought Trace’s Pidgeot had U-Turn But no, he just does cheeky switches. He would be much better if it had U-Turn. Well, it’s annoying if you use an electric type and he switches into Marowak. But if u use an ice type and he switches into Marowak or Vileplume it’s a cakewalk. Make sure he doesn’t switch into Rapidash tho! But if he switches into Rapidash if u are using a. Rock type then game over for him Edit: you said the gen 6 and onwards makes the games too ez. No. It just removes the incredibly annoyance of grinding in the Pokemon games. Grinding SUCKS!
I honestly Love Silver and Barry Barry the most as my rivals. They tested me and pushed me the most❤👏👏 Also Hop is an underrated gem,I thought he was another Hau/ Serena but he changed my mind throughout the game 🔥 I also never considered Tierno and the others rivals honestly
There's one video I'd like to see you make a video of your favourite episode from each Pokémon season. Or maybe your favourite and most hated episode of each season. Could you try
I still have flashbacks of playing ruby and FINALLY getting to the very end of victory road and Wally coming *out of nowhere* and wrecking me, making me start victory road again
If Paul from the diamond and pearl anime were in the games, I feel like he would be a really strong rival. Not necessarily the top, but based on how he acted, he would probably have a team with really good IVs and useful items.
Don’t kill me but I wasn’t really fond of Barry. He brags a lot and all he does is whine and runs off. But I guess that’s because I prefer Cheren over Barry.
Hugh and hop are my favorite rivals. Hop is not useless. He's a walking exp tank. I nearly lost to him once when I had a rematch with him in the after game (I didn't use my main team and no potion). That pinurchin was so annoying , the shield doggo and g-max corviknight knock out my 5 pokemons.
I never lost to him in a normal playthrough, but he did once OHKO my Cinderace with his Rillaboom by using a ground type move I didn't expect that at all, it was pretty amazing
Barry’s final post-game battle and the battle with Hop before the end of the game (the battle after he gets Zacian) are the only ones i actually lost to .
Wally is the ultimate rival. He is my favorite since playing Emerald and ORAS. If I have my own PokeMon League, I'll make Wally a member of my Elite Four.
My team wasnt super well equipped to deal with Psychic Types, but I don't recall having too much trouble with him. The rivals in Galar usually didn't give me too much issue, although I had trouble with two of Hop's battles, but one of them was in the Post game when I was underleveled.
Plus the fact that N's team is always different, since he uses the local pokemon, I'd say he's pretty interesting (though I only ever played the sequels).
I loved Hop and Hugh. I like Hugh for his team and his battle style. I love Hop for his character development through the game and not to lie, I just love Hop.
Imo Hop is definitely the most human rival, he’s my second favorite behind Wally. He has actual personality and I actually kinda feel bad when you crush his dreams.
I'm glad that the rival with my absolute favourite Pokemon on their team, (that being mega Gallade) is the strongest. Also, I love Wally as a character in that he just wanted to be able to have a Pokemon with him and that he managed to beat all the gym's before you did, and finally challenge you at the end of victory road for one of the biggest fights in those games.
TBH glad Bianca ranks so low. Nothing like when N said "She was meant to be a weak character to show the spectrum of players and that you don't need to become the champion to be strong. Was nice seeing her in BW2 choosing to follow Juniper by becoming her assistant!!!EDIT: SO glad to see Wally getting the recognition he deserves

I’m so glad Wally made number one on this list. He’s a personal favorite with Silver being my second because of backstory and that he uses Ralts my favorite non starter in that generation. I was so glad they updated him when the second release of ruby and emerald came out.
Great list. As much as I love Silver’s personality, I always felt his team was lacking. I feel he should’ve had Weavile and Magnezone in HGSS
@@paulpolomint1339 omg paul, you're a cool guy
I agree that Hau is a strong rival. I mean, remember your fight with him in Malie City in Sun and Moon? In that fight in particular, his Raichu was a MONSTER.
Unless you had Incineroar.
But that would mean overleveling drastically, @Peterson Byrd.
Maybe an Alolan Dugtrio. That thing is the ultimate Alolan Raichu slayer, as I learned in my Nuzlocke of Ultra Sun.
@@empoleon7750 What about Krookodile?
Can you even get a Sandile in time for that fight?
I saw wally coming to be #1 and I was still happy he is. The dude gave me a serious challenge that made me want to play further and actually try for a bunch of NPCs. Such a good generation.
Hugh was my first rival and he’s the gold standard for rivals in my book. So far (in the later games), Hau, Marnie, Bede, and Hop have passed.
When i saw the thumbnail, I went " that 80-HD kid is back
Omg lol 😂
When gen 4 remakes drop 80-HD will be in 1080p

I don't like how Bianca is below Trace.
i don’t understand HOW she’s under trace. bianca gave me issues sometimes

she is what
Barry freakin ambushed me when I only had my level 50 Alakazam in front of the Pokémon League. I still beat him with 0 hp lost. I GAINED hp because of shell bell.
wow gg
YES MY BOY WALLY IS ON TOP
nicr pfp
“Let’s just HOP right in”
You are on thin ice Mystic, THIN ICE
hop getting the respect he deserves
my guy took a lot of time and effort to restructure his team over and over too
Yup
He also proves he is the protagonist by catching a legendary first try with a poke ball and not lowering its hp
I’ve always loved Wally, cus he’s just so cool and the development was nice to see. I wish he go more time in the games
@@Randmiers *claps* THANK YOU! Finally someone understands me!
Even in RSE alone, he is hella lot stronger than May and the other one (can't remember the guy's name)
@@superryan9551 ı love wally too because
His most strongest team has 2 pokemon that are in my top 10 (6.gallade 5. Garchomp)
And that team was an godtşer competitive team and u really like him because of him
@@Randmiers ikr I love Hop so much, he's such a sweet cinnamon roll, and Marnie too, though I love Blue and his character arch, as well as N!
excited to see what barry’s ranking will be after the DP remakes
OMG YES!
@@paulpolomint1339 hope you might there in dp remakes
@@sengar1645 Paul is just anime Counter part Silver lmfao.
no
Exactly. Wally's team in the Battle Maison was so competitive I thought I was fighting in smogon not a pokemon game. 😂
Also Wally's ORAS battle theme slaps so hard
I think my favorite rivals are Wally, Cheren, Hugh, and Barry.
I thought Trace’s Pidgeot had U-Turn
But no, he just does cheeky switches. Rock type then game over for him
Edit: you said the gen 6 and onwards makes the games too ez. No. It just removes the incredibly annoyance of grinding in the Pokemon games. Grinding SUCKS!
@Travis Fitch bro thats kinda sad
I’m so glad my boy made it to the top or the list and una glad you heard us by considering their strongest teams.
Jaiden: “Wally just needs to stop.”
In ruby he does 😂 in the remakes he really improved
I knew Bianca would be low, but still somehow feel bad because she was meant to be a poor rival.
There's one video I'd like to see you make a video of your favourite episode from each Pokémon season. Or maybe your favourite and most hated episode of each season. Could you try
Wally has spent too much time looking up competetitve movesets, that's why he's so powerful. Also his battle theme is pretty fire.
I'm just glad that N made it as high as he did cause gen 5 is one of if not my favorite gen
Don’t kill me but I wasn’t really fond of Barry.
He brags a lot and all he does is whine and runs off.
But I guess that’s because I prefer Cheren over Barry.
I agree berry is pretty annoying he's like blue only he can't put his money where his mouth is at least blue did become champion
yes but Barry actually acknowledges that you are better than him
It's even sadder when you realize that not even the boastful human showboat Crasher Wake wanted nothing to do with him.
@@Jollofmuncher2000 that's true but I still find him more annoying than blue
Cheren's my favorite rival
Hugh and hop are my favorite rivals. Hop is not useless. He's a walking exp tank. I nearly lost to him once when I had a rematch with him in the after game (I didn't use my main team and no potion). That pinurchin was so annoying , the shield doggo and g-max corviknight knock out my 5 pokemons.
I actually lost to him after I got my fifth badge I was quite literally struck
I never lost to him in a normal playthrough, but he did once OHKO my Cinderace with his Rillaboom by using a ground type move
I didn't expect that at all, it was pretty amazing
Finally someone gives my boy Wally some respect
Barry’s final post-game battle and the battle with Hop before the end of the game (the battle after he gets Zacian) are the only ones i actually lost to .
Infernape is definitely the best fire-fighting starter, as it could mega-evolve during the remakes (if created)
But blazikin and Infernape are equally great.
@@eveegirl2878 Emboar*?
no it probably won't mega evolve. sorry to crush your dreams
Wally is the ultimate rival. He is my favorite since playing Emerald and ORAS. If I have my own PokeMon League, I'll make Wally a member of my Elite Four.
I’ve never really found Bede to be that strong. Even when I’m not overleveled, I always just sweep his entire team.
My team wasnt super well equipped to deal with Psychic Types, but I don't recall having too much trouble with him. The rivals in Galar usually didn't give me too much issue, although I had trouble with two of Hop's battles, but one of them was in the Post game when I was underleveled.
@Firestorm Soldier I personally consider Bede a better character than Blue, but I will agree that his battling skills leave a lot to be desired.
That is sort of the big problem with having a mono type team, especially when one of those team's members is Mawile.
@@esteban8471 Some monotype teams have given me trouble, but not with the rivals.
HeavyDonkeyKong I had some trouble on his second battle, I had to use 3 potions.
Plus the fact that N's team is always different, since he uses the local pokemon, I'd say he's pretty interesting (though I only ever played the sequels).
10:06 why on earth Serenas starter has only 3 moves
Because yes.
Serenass
@@BisonGaming3334 lmao
Yeah, and if you use your starter against their starter, they can only hit you with resisted damage

You did Cheren so dirty. His Simipour was super strong for no reason. And the Dragon gem Haxorus. And sturdy gigalith with stealth rock??? Man.
I loved Hop and Hugh. I like Hugh for his team and his battle style. I love Hop for his character development through the game and not to lie, I just love Hop.
My boi Hop!
I really like Hop as well and I knew he was underrated the moment I saw him in the screen for the first time playing the game
I'm sorry but I just love generation 3 and especially the rival wally he's team isn't even close to bad and I don't think he's a bad character at all
You'd be happy he put wally at the top
@@kek-senpai243 Hell yeah that's amazing Wally Brendan And May deserve it
@@FuriousFireDude Wally has a hell of a team at that battle resort.
Sh*t!!! No wonder Wally's team looked familiar in a certain balance/difficulty hack.
Barry and N are my two favorite rivals. ^^
N also has a bunch of different teams in black 2 that you can fight depending on the season
Does people consider bianca is the most powerfull female rival because of her post game battle in black2
And also white 2
When you were talking about Bede you said “Her,, Bede is a boy not a girl
actually he was talking about both bede and marine
TBH glad Bianca ranks so low. Nothing like when N said "She was meant to be a weak character to show the spectrum of players and that you don't need to become the champion to be strong. Blue from Firered and Leafgreen will always be the strongest rival to me. He had a well balanced team that made him really hard to beat.
Its too bad we got Tracy as our rival in the Lets Go games.

barry will always be my favourite - not just because Diamond was the first ever pokemon game I played. i loved him from the first second he fined me and i panicked that he was for real, to his character changes and BOOOOMs which were so cute and nice to see
I swear after gen 5 every game just got easier and easier, and when X and Y came out, the elite 4, the champion both were such a joke. Compared to the earlier games it was like hot knife through butter, not to mention the exp share which just made your team jump through levels.
Looks like Hoenn characters are always a part of top 5 in every video of Mystic. Idk but that says alot about gen 3.
Yeah he's pretty biased when it comes to his lists
@@d.gersby5080 You do know that mystic likes gen 2 more than any other region? So why would he be more biased with another region that isn't gen 2?
I always liked Wally as a rival, always in your shadow and can't beat you then comes out of nowhere with a power house team
'Porygon with BOLT-BEAM'.
I'm taking the mick, it's just funny.
In RBE, May and Brendan are actual jokes. You can skip out on them twice. Literally the last time you are forced to battle them is BEFORE the 6th badge.
