I have to admit that the Brave New Worlds panel was easily the most underrated. I'm really looking forward to Jungles and Redwood forests the most, but weather is my most anticipated. What about you? What was your favorite panel or favorite part of this panel?
6:30 imagine all the dynamic splinter cell or assassin creed style of gameplay in star citizen. infiltrating an ORG base or encampment to take out a high value target. now this is what i signed up for!!
I've only just started watching your videos and you only have a couple thousand subscribers, but I've been very impressed by your videos. They're very well done and interesting. Keep it up!
Agreed! But I do think there will be a lot more to explore than loot. Honestly i want a fully on exploration loop where we can be a treasure hunter in many cases.
Looking forward to varying biomes on each planet. Gives one a reason to explore each planet in more depth. As much as storms sound and look very cool. I'm concerned about everywhere I go having a storm present. You know like now, where ever we go, it always seems to be night time. Though not much shown, I'm really looking forward to the future of water. Waterfalls :) I grew up always having access to enjoying water activities.
Now that they're setting up this genesis tech, I really hope they begin to scale up planets to true size soon. I feel like Terra and Castra deserve to be full sized and with the tech they're developing, it shouldn't be too difficult anymore.
We currently have random "events" with server errors, which are exciting in a way and give an idea of how plans can be interrupted. It will be nice to experience unpredictable gameplay that is more immersive.
I have so many questions about the things in Genesis they showed off. Like do seasons mean we are finally getting planets and moons moving in their orbits now? Will Global Illumination fix the flickering sun light issue that make light beams and shadows look jittery? Will Star Audio finally add sonic booms to the game and is space vacuum audio still planned? Will there be different types of weather like real snow and acid rain ,sleet, hail, actual hurricanes, etc. So many more but thats some of my main ones.
That's actually something that Benoit mention being in game now, but disabled. The intention is that planets will actually be in an elliptical orbit of their star. Global illumination should fix the issues with flicking in some ways; but that's usually a bug. The song booms will likely be added if ships are exceeding the 343 meters per second at some point. I'd bet Star Audio would assist with this. And yes they've talked about a lot of other weather types, but for now, just rain and thunderstorms, blizzards and sand storms
I think I'm most excited for the advanced resources, refining, and crafting systems. That said I'm trying to wrap my head around crafting ships and weapons. I would get taking a shattered Hornet hull and restoring it to full operation. But are they going to explain the legality of building a brand new Hornet from scratch? Even if we have the blueprints, maybe we'll have to buy a license from Anvil (or the owner of whatever intellectual property we're copying)? Or is copyright and patenting just a thing of the past 900 year from now?
There's been a lot of promises for 12 years. I have to admit. But... for the first time since the beginning of the project... this is the first time I've felt the game has direction towards the end. And the first time it's ever felt close. Closer than 5 years if I'm being honest. Especially with what I've heard internally.
Be aware that "vaulting" the ability to climb or lift yourself up ledges has to be placed in particular spots by hand so true exploration is going to be limited. If you can't lift yourself over a small ledge that you would be able to in real life it's stupidly risky on foot.
Nah, sadly not yet. They haven't implemented the new vaulting, slide and ladder mechanics. I really hope that they come in within the next year at the very most.
Not sure why I should belive starchitect will work as advertised. I member when they showed how spacestations could be randomize to create hundreds of stations. Same with landing zones, they showed lots of assets but where is that payoff of all that work. I don't know anymore
Honestly? That pay off is something we haven't seen yet because of they needed to get the tool to where it is before they can fully implement it. But I forsee Stanton changing quite a bit once they have it implemented
This all sounds great but there's a lot of mention of discovering new 'x' thing. If it's a plant or fauna, this won't be very diverse. There are only so many plants and animals they are adding to the game. I can't see how you can explore and find something NEW this way.
I'm certain there will be a lot more and plants and fauna given that they'll have full on missions where you can discover various other locations. Especially once scanning is fully realized
@Fuar11 they stated this first batch of animals is just meant to establish archetypes. Pack hunters, grazing herbivores, flock birds, etc. Theyre going to continue adding more archetypes and as they do, differing behaviors. The cosmetic skins for the animals will be relatively simple compared to establishing the archetypes behaviors and AI.
Yeah they got a ton of fauna planned that they showcased at CitizenCon. But they've been talking about the FPS and ship scanning mechanics for the last few monthly updates. I don't know why it's not implementented, but i think when scanning and the new quantum travel are added, we'll actually have a bit more semblance of exploration. But they definitely need more missions
This year it's called Genesis. What was it called last year? I forget. Or the year before that. Do they delete all the planets they have made and start over every time they change how they make planets? Cause 12 years and we will have 5 systems 2 years from now or whenever they release 1.0 unless they move the goal post again.
It wasn't called anything last year. Genesis is just the culmination of all of their tools put together into the ecosystem that is world building. Stars, planets, moons, structures, caves, settlements, and various other locations. It includes Starchitect, Star Audio, RaStar (which is their modular structures and it's placement), their planet Tech and every thing else that's part of their StarEngine. They don't start over from scratch with planets. They use what they have made to make the existing planets better. It's a tool that seamlessly integrates with what they already have created.
@Hav0k I've been on the band wagon since the kickstarter and I'm trying not to regret all the money I have given them over the years. I didn't mean to put you in a defensive stance. But every year they give us the impression that we just need to hang on a little longer it's just 2 years away. I think I'm just ready to put down my cup of cool-aid. Peace brother.
@@DarkHeartofBlackmoor its all good! I'm not defensive at all. I just assumed that it was a legitimate question. So i thought I'd give all of the info I have about it. I completely understand what you mean, though, and I'm with you in that regard. They have a ton of tools that will undoubtedly exponentially increase how quickly they can build things, but we definitely haven't seen that yet. I honestly think that there's quite a bit of things behind the scenes that they're keeping quiet for the most part. I'm getting pretty low on my kool-aid too. So I know how you're feeling. For me this was the first time I saw the most direction towards getting to the end than I have before. So let's hope we see it soon.
they tore 4.0 apart that means 25 will be nothing but patches and bugs they show off what they think we will like and give us nothing but bugs and heartache
I have to admit that the Brave New Worlds panel was easily the most underrated. I'm really looking forward to Jungles and Redwood forests the most, but weather is my most anticipated.
What about you? What was your favorite panel or favorite part of this panel?
I can’t wait for the immersion of this new planet tech. I think it will take this game from being beautiful to insane!
Space lightning OP
Agreed!
Due to the weather's physical nature, you can see storms from space. It will be so damn awesome.
It really would be amazing!

Hell yeah! My favorite moments from the splinter cell series was Blacklist. And i dig that style of gameplay just as much as the rest.
The Genesis panels were my favorite after building and crafting.
Can't wait to fly a Nomad into a tornado like in Twisters
Lol tornados would be cool to see
Im seeing someone holding on to the nomads back tray for dear life.

I really appreciate the comment! Honestly I'm just happy to have what I have right now. Hopefully I can earn other viewers as well 😄
Don't forget the search for blueprints, which is imo the biggest reason for exploring the plants and moons
Agreed! But I do think there will be a lot more to explore than loot. Honestly i want a fully on exploration loop where we can be a treasure hunter in many cases.
If they have tornadoes... I'd literally be blown away. Storm chasers FTW 🌀
That'd be pretty cool

really nice vids, great visuals and concise.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
I'll take a 240..er, Demeco and reduce all cover. Everywhere.
🤣 sounds like you're remember the good ol times with the Queen of Hate & Discontent
man those bagpipes go hard
Have to admit that I'm a sucker for strings, but bagpipes got a power over me that is unexplainable
I hope you are right, friend, because the rain puddle in my backyard is deeper at this moment.

Was that penguin being beamed up? 7:50
That was part of their global illumination part of Genesis. Just a clip from it.
in 5 years or so maybe...alot of new players dont understand that part...i mean i heard promises of all of this 12 years ago
