I’m going to try and get a pioneer. It being able to extract and build basically anything is appealing to me. Like you could fly around and gather high quality resources then use those to build weapons, armor, components, or even small ships and sell them directly out of the pioneer. It could really just be the one stop base shop.
I hope that after these ships are released, more emphasis is given to ships we already own (polish, development, etc) instead of making more. I want them to put more effort into implementing the features that compliment these ships.
You know they won't. 10 years waiting for the BMM and Orion, if they cared about it they would have hired devs already to finish those. It doesn't take a decade for a company to hire people and getting these things done.
Crusader Intrepid wasn't in the teased ships for next year, I believe you're looking at the RSI Apollo, which will be interesting to see if they're going to implement the next medical improvements next year.
I think the Polaris will replace my Carrack. I feel the whole exploration game play will be very limited. Unless CIG announces other uses for the Carrack, aka refining module or base building module. ETC
Carrick cargo wtf? The next thing that they need to do is A Carrick cargo module. For this reason, I’m not buying any more ships until they get full implemented gameplay .
Hoping to hear about combat titan suits soon. Wouldn't be surprised if they only drop after SQ42 but the recent mentions of their combat abilities in the files of 3.24.3 and of course the atlas suit has got me hoping again.
They talked about bonues for playing 42. So perhaps if you finish the game, your reward will be to get the skins, or buy the ships ingame. They look cool, so it would be nice hehe
this is one of the problems, early on the idea seemed to be that your actions in squadron assuming you had it gave you pointers to where you were going to start in the verse once you got out, so that squadron was kinda an intro to the game of sorts, but of course now they are separate games and we are having an independent introduction to the PU so it will be interesting to see how they mesh
It would be interesting to see what state SC would be in now if they only released ships that were 100% functional when purchased, and if all the ‘in concept’ ships you could pre-order but not actually pay for until ready 😄
Yeah I think the Squadron 42 ships are probably the prototype group, so having a mix of Mk1/Mk2 tech would make sense for them. Also I thought they showed a Nomad fitting inside the Pioneer as well in another video.
When they showed off the new Pioneer design at CitCon, John Crewe explicitly mentioned the Nomad as a ship that you could build inside the Pioneer. However, the tease silhouette shows a tiny hornet above the Pioneer. Draw your own conclusions.
Cant wait to see the massive groups of solo players rolling around the verse in the polaris. I know it will be quite a sight because ill be out there as well! 😂
I very much expect to see the Pioneer at least go on a limited stock sale and I hope CCU is going to be offered because I'm totally going to turn my Carrack into that if it is.
Once the Polaris makes it into the game, I will be fine about waiting until 2025 for the others. Base building is going to be fun; I am really looking forward to making some really nice location in the verse a home, no more habs for me. It is going to be great.
I was thinking of melting my Carrack or CCU to Polaris and use that as a space station base. Just park it in space where I can find it, and use the hangar to park a C8R or something.
@@jbirdmax I already did that some time ago, so of course I think that that's a great idea. I will place it in space right over my base. Can you say long range detection/protection system?
cannot wait for 4.0, mostly curious to see how server meshing turns out. just hoping this will open the flood gates for more playable content.. in the meantime, let's fly some cool jpegs
I think that those custom F8As are flown by all of SQ42. If you look at the other accompanying F8s, they appear to all be the custom models as well. I just want to be able to upgrade or customize mine to that of those as well. They look so much better, more streamlined.🇺🇦🇭🇹🇵🇸
I definitely Would like CIG to bring Suit Lockers to functional so I can switch between clothes and amor. I bet they are waiting for Star wear! But I actually am looking forward to the Drake Baby corsair
I'd love to see a update on if CIG is actually going to release the new models for Vanduul player ships, or if they are actually going to force those of us with them still to wait 6+ years (they likely had the models done when we saw them first shown in 2020 for the SQ42 teaser that christmas or even before, and if not, it would have been shortly afterwards) Once squadron 32 is released for those new models; Every time the question is raised, CIG ignores it.
I love the fact that the Mirai Furies are meant to imitate the TIE Interceptor, which makes the Mirai Guardian the Star Citizen analogue of the TIE Defender. Even has the same themed nomenclature: Guardian / Defender! Definitely one I'm going to pick up
I'm hoping we'll also get some good updates in the ship livestream they normally do during or after IAE. I don't think there's anything coming this year that I'm particularly interested in, but there are some that they're going to start working on soon.
Bored, CIG have said you will be able to craft and customise ships with blueprints and materials. I believe the F8 and Hornet in the demo are simply end game high tier crafted ships of this type and you should be able to get them if you have the right blueprints, materials and skill level at crafting
I think you're right about Cal's Hornet, I think that's his own heavily modified, or maybe even prototype mkIII Hornet, but the F8, if you look just before Scully says "have you seen the F8s up close?", a couple of them fly by the window, and they're both sporting the new design, I think (and hope) that it's an F8 redesign, the old ones cool and everything but I think the one from the trailer is much more unmistakably "Anvil" than the current one, which I like. I don't want to see CIG do any more MkII ships before release, fair enough with the Hornet, it was something they said they were doing a long time ago (if I remember right), but it feels pretty lame to buy a ship and have it be superceded before the games even out, and in the Hornets case, before the MkI even got a gold standard pass.
@@senn4237 yeah, I was going to always keep a starter ship around for something small with a quick claim timer. I have a cutter now, but I may swap for the intrepid depending on how it looks.
really looking forward to more variety of single role ships like miners and salvagers, not just different sizes of ships but different makes and models of the same weight class, would be cool to see what a origin mining ship would look like
I'm really hoping that all the old ships will be rebuilt on the newer tech and become fully functional. I can understand not re-doing all ships each iteration, but there are bugs/missing features that have been effecting some ships for years now.
I wish they made ships with components so we could do things like swap out a stateroom with a med bed to make ships more customizable to meet character needs.
Really wish they' start putting a bigger focus on updating some older ships to make proper use of all the stuff that's been added since their release and still to come
With the ship backlog as big as it is, I am worried about the lack of science / research ships beyond the FL DUR. Hope we see some viable options to progress low-tier science to high tier Endevour.
I'm hoping we hear about data gameplay, and potentially a concept in-between the Herald and the MSR that is still strictly a data ship. But is used more publicly as a messenger runner rather than covert ops (although who says it couldn't 👀). Maybe something from Consolidated Outland to bump up their number of usable ships?
Super curious about all those new ships but the crusader starter ship and that Corsair lookalike along with that maybe misc salvager are what I'm most interested in!
I'm starting to have a bit of opinion change. One good thing I will now attribute to Starfield is the ability to customize ships. Star Citizen has too many variants and not enough modules or ship customization. Look at the OG Terrapin for example. There's no reason I should have to keep that central scanning chair at all. I should be able to remove that chair and change that functionality to be usable from the cockpit the same way a remote turret works. Wasn't Cousin Crow's supposed to be able to make such changes? Has that plan changed?
With the player based economy, will Pioneer owners be able to create base building blueprints and make them available to the other players? A player then choses a "builder whose floorplan they like" and creates a building contract for said plans? Much like we irl to build a new house, can we contract a "builder" to build us a base?
I'd be interested in hearing about any news on drones. With Pyro opening, the Carrack will be more useful, and it now has a useless drone room. Then there is also the Apollo which is depending on drones. There seems to be some (probably unrealistic) hint that such things will exist in early 2025 (like January). Anything at all regarding drones would be nice to know about.
Excited to see what CIG does with packs and base building this year. Will I be able to buy all the base building ground vehicles as a pack? Maybe a Base Building Complete pack that includes everything from the survey trolley up to the Pioneer?
I would like to see them implement a lift in the Caterpillar so I can use it for Cargo; I brought it out for the first time in years about a week ago, and realized I still can put cargo inside. It's very frustrating. Needs a cargo lift. I love this game, and am a very big investor, for over eleven years now. But I'm concerned about the direction it is going with all the micromanagement. I'm afraid it will become a headache to play. But thank you for the update.
I’m adamant that the guardian wasn’t in the blue silhouette video. I think it’s an entirely new ship. They do throw ships we’ve never seen into these things. The intrepid is not in here either. I don’t think they want to repeat ships from last years silhouettes.
I think the ships/vehicles are probably on the mark. However I don't think we will get them all in 18 months. I think CIG could be working on them in the next 8 months, but not necessarily in our hands as flyable/drivable.
Every time I see the silhouette of the ship that everyone thinks is a baby corsair, the ONLY thing I see that has the same feature to the corsair is the wings. Nothing else about that thing looks Drake to me. It looks very Alien, possibly Banu or Xi'an. You're crazy if you think it's drake though. Looks nothing like a drake ship.
I think we’ll get a teaser of base building but personally I’m most excited for real medic gameplay support (no matter how far in the future that may be).
Hope the Persius becomes the loaner for the galaxy. On the galaxy really feel it should grow in size and have a crew dedicated infirmary if only a small one.
It's likely but not definite, that these ships will eventually go on sale as collectors editions. Keep them limited to say 1000 only and sell for 500 a pop.
Getting the Polaris is certainly nice, but everybody is waiting for 4.0 with server meshing and the addition of some features like the transit refactor.
I really like the idea of the TAC but I feel like it won’t be as useful as I want it to be. The large ships are usually pretty terrible in a fight against fighters. If it’s anything like the freelancer the turrets will be useless
We will get a medical Terrapin but who knows when we will see the Apollo. Ironclad will come soon, but no word on when the Galaxy will be released or even start production. I want a few reworks as much as many of you, but considering that the backlog of concepts continues to grow in favor of new ship sales, chances are those reworks are years away.
I want to see more different i dustrial ships from different manufacturers. Right now you don't have a choice. There's just one option depending if you want solo or multicrew ships. A manufacturer like c.o. could fill the gap and offer other ships for mining and salvaging.
As others have said new ships are nice but there are a lot of old ships and concepted ships that need a rework or just need a release. I get that some ships have priority for gameplay and campaign reasons but there is a lot of current ships that could use to TLC and a lot of concept or unreleased ships that have been in the cards for ages that could be worked on/ released.
@@davewills148 Any statements about the Odyssey coming after they get done with the RSI ships or just speculation? The Odyssey is the one I'm waiting for the most.
@@senn4237 Well i hear the Galaxy is slated for 2025, and the Odyssey will be built from HULL assets, you can see the HULL in the Starlancer and the odyssey. CIG are working primarly on RSI ships, but a few from other manufacturers. I wouldn't waste credit on having asn Odyssey in your hangar, enjoy other ships, no need in game for the odyssey for a couple of yrs.

Excited for the Polaris. It'll be interesting to see how people react to big ships after engineering.
I have a feeling people will have rework their fleets. I am one of those people. A lot of my friends have already given up on this game.
I think the Polaris will replace my Carrack. I feel the whole exploration game play will be very limited. Unless CIG announces other uses for the Carrack, aka refining module or base building module. ETC
It has future drones, and CIG might make their mounts and configurations universal. 🙏
They can at least fix the cargo doors
@@the_realcheezy They could fix the tech demo instead.
Carrick cargo wtf?
The next thing that they need to do is
A Carrick cargo module.
For this reason, I’m not buying any more ships until they get full implemented gameplay .
Carrack?
Or are you talking about something else?
Oh and I agree about the Carrack cargo pods. Completely useless with cargo refactoring.

@@jbirdmax thanks
The BMM is becoming a dream with every patch
Or nightmare if you own it.
New Ships are exciting. hopefully they wait until closer to base building before we start seeing the base building vehicles being sold.
@ we have another 1,5 years to find out. Let’s expect the minimum and hopefully get something amazing
It would be interesting to see what state SC would be in now if they only released ships that were 100% functional when purchased, and if all the ‘in concept’ ships you could pre-order but not actually pay for until ready 😄
It would probably be dead, bankruptcy.
I'm super excited for the Ironclad. A medium salvage ship would also be amazing though!
Cant wait to see the massive groups of solo players rolling around the verse in the polaris. I know it will be quite a sight because ill be out there as well! 😂
Plenty of salvage....cant wait
I very much expect to see the Pioneer at least go on a limited stock sale and I hope CCU is going to be offered because I'm totally going to turn my Carrack into that if it is.
remember friends, that are just some of the ships they are working on next year. they explicit said working on, not delivering! SO :^)
Once the Polaris makes it into the game, I will be fine about waiting until 2025 for the others. Base building is going to be fun; I am really looking forward to making some really nice location in the verse a home, no more habs for me. It is going to be great.
This
I was thinking of melting my Carrack or CCU to Polaris and use that as a space station base.
Just park it in space where I can find it, and use the hangar to park a C8R or something.
@@jbirdmax I already did that some time ago, so of course I think that that's a great idea. I will place it in space right over my base. Can you say long range detection/protection system?
@@jbirdmax Do it.
What will you be doing wit hthe Polaris, your obviously planning to go out SOLO?
cannot wait for 4.0, mostly curious to see how server meshing turns out. just hoping this will open the flood gates for more playable content.. in the meantime, let's fly some cool jpegs
Terrapin medic sounds like a good idea. In fact, the Terrapin would be quite suitable for many variants.
The Pioneer seems like a very fun and interesting ship
Im surprised we didnt hear anything about hacking at citcon
I love the fact that the Mirai Furies are meant to imitate the TIE Interceptor, which makes the Mirai Guardian the Star Citizen analogue of the TIE Defender. Even has the same themed nomenclature: Guardian / Defender! Definitely one I'm going to pick up
I'm hoping we'll also get some good updates in the ship livestream they normally do during or after IAE. I don't think there's anything coming this year that I'm particularly interested in, but there are some that they're going to start working on soon.
Looking forward to see what the Mirai Guardians is like!
WE DONT NEED ANY MORE SHIPS
I'm really curious to see what the Intrepid turns out to be, whether it's crusader starter ship or something a bit more capable.
Early suggestion is a small ship with very big bespoke gun, similar to the Ares.
@@junior-fj8ud That sounds like it could be pretty great!
The starter ships are some of the best ships in the game really. Crusader's will be interesting to see.
@@senn4237 yeah, I was going to always keep a starter ship around for something small with a quick claim timer. I have a cutter now, but I may swap for the intrepid depending on how it looks.
really looking forward to more variety of single role ships like miners and salvagers, not just different sizes of ships but different makes and models of the same weight class, would be cool to see what a origin mining ship would look like
I think one of the ships shrouded at 4:11 is the Apollow Triage, I could be wrong of course.
4:45 definitely want to see what exactly these ground vehicles are, and whatever the heck that asymmetrical ship ends up being.
I like the Pioneer redesign, I like the fact that it technically has two hangars
Super curious about all those new ships but the crusader starter ship and that Corsair lookalike along with that maybe misc salvager are what I'm most interested in!
I think they should make a military version of the Pioneer called the F.O.B. (forward operating base). Very generous of the lunar wolves.
The SQ42 variants explain a lot about why we have the F7a MKII in our hands now.
Terrapin variants sound like a good idea. Seems like Anvil could use a little more attention as a manufacturer overall.
No, the Pioneer will depend on external protection from others. It's a utility ship.
Haven't heard anything about the 600i rework, though with them nerf batting everything lately, maybe that is a good thing.
its nice that new ships are coming to the game, would like them also to revisit some of the older ships especially now that cargo has changed
Not sure why people think that drake ship is a smaller corsair.....look at the person in that picture, that ship is huge
I always like to see more ships/vehicle in game .... even through i wish they would speed up the backlog a bit more.
Disappointed the Liberator and Galaxy are not coming this year
what would be cool is if they did other sizes of space stations like the ground bases
I'd love to hear more about the CIG content creator program.
The clause isn't punitive in any real sense.
I really like the idea of a SAR-Terrapin. But as much cooler would it have been to get an gold-standard Freelancer?
I think we’ll get a teaser of base building but personally I’m most excited for real medic gameplay support (no matter how far in the future that may be).
Hope the Persius becomes the loaner for the galaxy. On the galaxy really feel it should grow in size and have a crew dedicated infirmary if only a small one.
The hero ships are so cool especially the paint on them. I hope we get more paints for the F7 MK2 and the F8C in the future.
Honestly, I'd be the most excited if they went back and reworked some of the older ships. The Constellation is due for an update.
I like that they made a little base builder for solo players.
They caught me by surprise with F7 stuff. Maybe it shouldn't have surprised me, but it did.
I really like the idea of the TAC but I feel like it won’t be as useful as I want it to be. The large ships are usually pretty terrible in a fight against fighters. If it’s anything like the freelancer the turrets will be useless
I am interested to see what size the gun on the Intrepid is. It looks like it takes design cues from the Ares.
I thought we would see the F8 and F7 hulls we saw with SQ42 as blueprint upgrades as part of the upcoming manufacturing system.
Can't wait for the drake iron clad to come out.
They haven't even started building it yet, they need the assets 1st. 2yrs away 2027, Galaxy 2025, Odyssey 2026.
