    Just bought mine today. Price wise there was a $100 promo on Shark’s website, which made the purchase $299 before tax for the standard attachments. Cheaper than the Apex, Vertex and Stratos on Amazon with that promo.

      Let me know what you think? It really cleans well imho for the price.

      Do they take the same replacement filters HEPA and motor filters as the other sharks ?

      @@Rjjamess it does a good job. But it is a bit hefty and due to strong suction on carpet it pulls a bit. Can get tiring depending on user. Wife doesn’t care for it for those reasons, preferring stick. But a stick vacuum isn’t going to do the same job with a lot of carpet in a timely manner. Ended up getting a Levoit stick vacuum for lighter duty hard floors and basically keep the Shark for carpet and deeper cleans.

    Another complete review. Thanks for comparing the power detect and the shark stratos. That made it easy to understand all the improvements.

    I really liked your review. I just ordered the Power Select and was hoping it would be as good as the infomercial says it is. I have owned 2 other Shark vacuums but after a couple years they both began losing suction despite my taking them apart and cleaning them. And I was tired of cutting and pulling hair off the 2 bars. I hope this will be the last vacuum I have to buy. Thank you for this review!

    Not being able to remove both rollers is fail. Sharks get filthy easy and its already hard to clean them.

    I like the manual power change especially when using the handheld portion of the vacuum. Don't need full power sometimes with the handheld. Also did they put a light on the handle since removing it for the last few iterations? That was very handy.

    Definitely has its pros and cons I've had mine about 2 months and all I can say with certainty is, idk if it was worth over 500

    why not just keep the suction at max all the time? I'm fine with the power bill.

    • @TheFrenchGlow
      @TheFrenchGlow  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I thought about that but different floor types and debris respond differently to how fast your brushroll is spinning. And if you have max suction all the time, the suction level is powerful enough that vacuuming rugs and carpets would take more effort. The shark has the power to lift up rugs so max suction isn't always needed.

      @@TheFrenchGlow You are right, I was doing a carpet this morning and the brush kept sucking up the thin carpet. Then I thought, wow that vac is good. I think I will get one. Don't know why But I Keep buying them just to see.

      @@michaelm7901It's probably not good for the vacuum.Either way, but I has to keep adjusting the power.It's also not good for your breaker either

  • @M1GarandMan3005

    I think I'm going to wait for the AZ5000 models to hit the market. The Shark Vertex in my opinion is the best vacuum Shark has ever made, even better than the Stratos.

    • @TheFrenchGlow
      @TheFrenchGlow  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have all of them and the PowerDetect is slightly better than the vertex. Do you need to upgrade if you have a vertex? No way.

      hello, thanks for your like, and I am the design manager of shark strator and power detect and now is thinking about AZ5000, can you give more opinions?

      @@liupeter8039 Yes, here are a few things I want to see in the next Shark Vacuum.
      1. Handle Light/LED - This was something that the Shark Apex had, but was missing from the Vertex and every Shark since then. Bringing back the handle LED would be a massive plus, and make it much more convenient for me to not have to wear a headlamp when cleaning my car/truck.
      2. Removable Brushrolls - For some reason, None of the top-of-the line vacuums don't have the option where you can remove both brushrolls, yet the Shark Rocket is the only one that allows me to do that. The ability to remove both brushrolls from the vacuum would be a HUGE plus for Shark, so I can clean whatever debris gets stuck in the chamber and the hard bristle brushroll. I know you guys what to stop competitors from copying your design and reverse engineering your product, but those of us who love our vacuums would greatly appreciate it if you would allow us to take out both sets of brushrolls, not just the soft velvet one.
      3. Additional filters - I believe that every top-of-the-line Shark should come with two foam filters and two felt filters. If I need to clean one set of filters, a spare set can take their place while I wait for them to airdry. For what I pay for a top-of-the-line Shark model, I should get more value with two sets of filters. If I need anymore, I can just get them online.
      4. More color options - Red, Blue, Green, Black, Grey, anything that isn't effeminate like Purple or Rose Gold.
      And that's probably about it in terms of feedback. I hope you'll relay these suggestions to your boss Mark Rosenzweig.

      @@liupeter8039 Here are some ideas of what I want to see on the Shark AZ5000 Model:
      1. Handle LED. - Please put a light on the handle just as you did with the Shark APEX.
      2. Both Removable Brush Rolls. - PLEASE allow us to remove both the soft velvet brush roll and the hard bristle brush roll.
      3. Additional Felt and Foam Filters. - For a top-of-the-line vacuum, I should get a spare set of foam and felt filters in case the filters get worn out or when I clean one set and wait for them to dry.
      4. More Colors - Red, Blue, Green, Grey, Black, etc. - Give us more color options to choose from that aren't purple or rose gold.

      I agree with you 100%, I’ve had my trustee old Vertex for almost 4 years. It’s been a great machine and it has held up very well. My only complaint is I wish they sold a replacement brushroll without having to buy a whole new powerhead, the silicone flaps on mine are beginning to wear down a little bit. I bought the Stratos last year but I still preferred using my Vertex. Ended up giving the Stratos to my mom lol

      multi cyclones is a IP of dyson, other companies can't use it.

      This is actually an amazing shortcoming considering how "advanced" Shark is supposed to be. Mid-priced Eurekas and Hoovers use dual/multi-cyclone tech. Dyson has doing it across the board for over 20 years!
