catholic Christians are a minority among the Christians in south africa. Little land is owned overall (stands in urban areas and plot sizes rural areas), bought from various government regimes and tribal chiefs.
If you take farms or land that is productive to give back to indigenous people who will only grow for themselves you are going to end up with another Zimbabwe. You conveniently avoid the fact that those farms only benefit the minority white people who lived in Zimbabwe while the majority lived like second class citizens in their own country and of course the sanction didn't also play a huge role.

Do you think that last option is viable? The threat issued by the Freedom Front leader and today's Minister of Correctional Services Dr Pieter Groenewald was "If anybody thinks in South Africa that you can take the land without compensation you're living in a dream!" He goes on to clarify that "if you want to start a civil war in South Africa, do that!"
Just a side not, not in opposition but I've heard people complaining about scarcity of land in the country. I would like to point out that the issue of land on the country is not the same. Where I'm at Mpumalanga, land is not as scarce as I've seen in and around Gauteng. So as we tackle the land issue we specify the issue at those regions.
That's what they did in Zimbabwe. Britain had been buying back some land on a willing buyer, willing seller from the beginning of the 1980s. Mugabe ended up with 1600 ha of land to himself.Todate there is epic corruption regarding land. What they did to whites, they are doing to each other as blacks. At the end of the day, productive individuals should stay on land, however, some sort of restitution will be needed. Occupying land is not fixing land issues. The challenge now is the huge population- not everyone will have a shot at owning land.
When you talk about productive individuals do you ask yourself whom they are productive to. We have a very high unemployment and inequality the salaries amongst black farm workers beyond the minimum wage.
It's called capitalism. Such enterprises thrive on exploitation. The higher the wage bill the less viable - that's why historically these industries have thrived on a workforce that is prepaired work for less. Rhodesian farmers brught in Malawians and Mozambiquans to work on farms. In Zimbabwe today workers of Malawian origin are more valuable than rural Zimbabwean workers. In SA Zimbabwean farm workers are as valuable to the commercial farming as they are to the hospitality industry, in Germany Turkish workers have been more valuable than German workers. In Isreal Bangladeshi workers have been more valuable than Isreali or Palestinian workers. Business is about profitability, collective bargaining and competence. In Zimbabwe just after independence some new Shona landowners dismissed their inherited, highly skilled Malawian workers and paid the price for that, instead of creating managerial think tanks based on their vast experience and historic proximity to knowagable white farmers. One day people will learn, as Clinton put it that "it is the economy stupid." By all means find ways of offering restitution but don't destroy the economy while at it. An individual who starts a family must by default be abe to cater for it. When people become non committed impregnators while political actors bungle is where the problem truly lies.
I don't know but it can be true. There is a white man who is responsible of two bowling clubs. He doesn't even rent them. He is paying only for the water and electricity he uses. Believe it or not he is working with black municipality employees because they get kick backs from him. He has bars in these bowling clubs and he charges old people when they want to have bowling tournaments or functions in these bowling clubs. Municipality employees don't want black people to come close to these facilities because they will feel entitled.
He must be referring to the Rondebosch golf course which is state owned that Ndifuna Ukwazi(NPO) wants to turn into affordable housing. But people are so stupid they don't realise that the golf course has purpose beyond just being a golf course, it's real purpose is to deal with potential flooding.

A question regarding the confescation of land: If it was unethically obtained using the the property law of 1913, but now rest in the private ownership of a black person after being purchased, should that land be confiscated by the state?
Yes of course it should be. If he bought it from those who unethically obtained it.If I get hijacked and my car is sold to another black brother when I find him in possession of my car I take it regardless of ethnicity.
Okay, so continuing with this logic: Should the government confiscate all Zulu lands that were forcibly taken during Shaka Zulu's violent conquests? And to whom shall those lands eventually be returned to 200 years later?
