The Shagohod is not in this countdown for one reason: no legs. Every Metal Gear has legs. While it filled the role of pre-final boss mech battle, the Shagohod was a precursor for the lineup of Metal Gears to come.
Shagohod wasn't the precursor to metal gear. Remember, it was developed in parallel to metal gear as a competitor to the original metal gear idea. It was stated in metal gear solid 3 that they went with shagohod in the Soviet Union instead of metal gear. Granin's conversation with naked snake made that distinction very clear.
I feel like Shangohad walking up on it's turbine tracks should count to close enough to legs. But whatever. It's your list....I guess the games don't really count them as legs either, according to Granin.
In defense of Sahalanthropus, Huey had 10 years to develop it, and Strangelove helped him for some of those before he became a douche to surpass Adam Malcovich. Dr. Madnar was forced to make TX-55 under Venom Snake or Big Boss' orders. He didn't have the experience or time that Huey had to build bipedal tanks, so his two Metal Gears are understandable downgrades.
Sahelanthropus, looks a lot like Rex doesnt it? Liquid high jacks it. Then turns it in to Rex. I cant remember the details. But the heads are the same and such.
I'd say that Ray is the ultimate. Sure Rex is iconic and such, but Ray is just about the Metal Gear everyone fears sans nuclear capability. A mass produced MG, and that fear can be felt in extreme in MGS2 when you gotta down 20 of them.
Also, nothing in the metal gear series can beat all of the mg rays together, I’m talking about the prototype, the mgr one, the mass produced ones and etc

Arsenal’s insides are also surprisingly creepy, the music, visuals, and glitchy codec really make it the only Metal Gear I’d consider “scary” aside from maybe Sahelanthropus. Also Liquid put a Mt. Already started off bad. Snakes revenge really?
Rex is not king Sahelanthropus is true king.
Admit it, you didn't rank the gekkos because they're too good and could blitz any other gear
I do love the Gekkos (they always get me tensed up). But they're not here since they were never written as the big bad machine you tackle near the ending like other Metal Gears, they more like suped-up grunts.
Well, exelcus can Spawn infinite gekkos
Metal gear gicco
WTF... The first one isn't even canon... 🤦🤦🤦
Basically, Dr. Magnar is a not a good Metal Gear designer.
tbf he was basically forced to design it as quickly as possible with a gun pointed to his head
@@jart1984 Only the first time, the second time was voluntary.
nope the tx-55 is literally stated by venom to be the ultimate weapon (ultimate by definition is to be the peak achievable of it's kind)
Metal Gear Snake Revenge is not canon so it shouldnt Count in the list
He includes not canon gears
Excelsius is strongest
EXCELSUS isnt even a metal gear lol.
Sahelanthropus = Rex. Liquid takes it, and salvages it to make Rex, i believe.
idk if that's true, but would be cool. both have weiners that shoot so rex and sahelanthropus are my favorites
Liquid didnt have anything to do with the original rex.
Shal got destroyed at the end of mgs5 (Cut content)
And armstech wanted hal to make REX
Youre that ninja
