Hey Ben mate, have you ever thought about getting one of those little sandblasting guns ? Would that be any easier for de crusting awkward little nooks and crannies?
Ben, that was absolutely enthralling from start to finish! You somehow, as a one man band and presenter, absolutely captivate your audience with your dialogue, enthusiasm, sense of humour and skills. This was by far your best car restoration in such a short time and your best video by far! It's about time some freebies come your way from sponsors.

Another fantastic job getting a lovely little car back on the road Ben. There really is nothing like driving an MX5 “enthusiastically” along some curvy country lanes! Enjoy those smiles for miles!!
Pretty much identical to the 1995 MX5 1.8iS I bought for £890 back in 2017 and drove home to France. I had to do all these jobs on mine too. Make sure you check behind the front wings (they fill up with crap and rust from the inside out) and that the drain holes at the rear which evacuate water from the soft top) aren’t blocked with crud. Excellent project, I really enjoyed that. We had a Eunos Roadster 'J'' reg 1.6 Automatic, in silver and leather seats. I say 'we', It was my wife's car, but I did all the servicing and maintenance. A real hoot to drive, even with the 'slush box', the kick down worked brilliantly. She only got rid of it due to increasing age. She found it hard to get in and out of (ended up rolling on the floor). I did the headrest speakes as well. They all fail due to the cones detatching. Unusually, on the original leather covers, there was no zip, so I had to remove the whole cover. I replaced with new leather covers, (the originals were a bit rotten)which actually came with zips and I got at the speakers at the same time. The little elliptical ones were unobtainum, so needed to rig in small round ones. They are actually wired Left and right, so you get full stereo, round your head (Not tweeter and woofer as suggested). A classic. I think it was Jeremy Clarkson said that 'it was the best British sports car, built properly, by the Japanese'. Styling influence came from the Lotus Elan.
WOW brilliant video Ben a lot of hard work and effort in to this project, thing you left out, price of paint, time with the detail guy, and labour charge. You are to honest. Roll on the next video. SUPERB
Back in the early 60s when MOTs were introduced, the test was a lot stricter. From 1960-67 the cars were elegible for a test after 10 years, we were allowed to use riddle guns, hammers, screwdrivers etc to poke and prod any signs of rust, in otherwards if we could poke a hole the car failed on rust (they can't do that today), we could take off any plastic trims to inspect under them (A no no today) we could test drive the car on the road. After 1967 the mot's were every 3 years and testers had to take a new test which was more comprehensive, we could poke, with a screwdriver or light hammer, but not with excessive force, we were not allowed to dismantle anything (put it down as an advisory (advisories was a new thing) We could still test drive until the rolling road brake testers came into force around 1974ish, then this was not allowed. I am glad that I am now retired, but am dreading to think the rigmarole in testing hybrid/electric cars, some of them kicking out voltages of many hundreds of volts, A bodge up by an owner to get his car through an MOT could potentially kill the tester, this is why many MOT stations will not test EVs. But their you are m8 a quick history of how we did MOTs when I was a spotty faced apprentice mechanic (now 77 and still tinkering 👩🔧)
bit of advice again mate if filling in always use fiberglass bodge on rusty bits as its waterproof ie arches ect , and you can mix bodge with fiberglass as halfy halfy makes it more durable ...
I didn't understand a lot of this because I'm a little dumb.....there was a lot of screwdrivers and spanner things involved, but it was all very interesting to me. Melody is lovely and sounds very healthy!! 😊😊

Winning personality too - a natural! 😊
Brilliant Ben, great laughter as always, car is cracking and Kylie Daileys I Get in my Own Way during the Timelapse was class
bit of advice again mate if filling in always use fiberglass bodge on rusty bits as its waterproof ie arches ect , and you can mix bodge with fiberglass as halfy halfy makes it more durable ...
Better than wheeler dealers! Great videos! 😊
Love Border Terriers, and Eric looks a little beauty !
I didn't understand a lot of this because I'm a little dumb.....there was a lot of screwdrivers and spanner things involved, but it was all very interesting to me. Melody is lovely and sounds very healthy!! 😊😊
Just started watching the 2nd video on the eunos.great so far. But being a master technician who is 325 years old I would recommend some proper work trousers with knee protectors. You will thank me at the end of the day.keep making these brilliant videos
