This supports my theory that Karen's can only hear in Karenese, which their tiny brains mistake for English. Whenever words are spoken at them, their brains can't comprehend the language and it gets translated into whatever fantasy narrative they feel is correct for the situation.

The language block effect is real. It even happens in reverse. I live in Taiwan, where tea shops are plentiful. It was a hot summer day and I started walking up to the counter of a CoCo Tea shop. I can tell that the worker is having an existential crisis as she sees me walking up. She's panicking because my foreignness is intimidating, and she likely either can't speak English or doesn't have enough confidence to do so. I walk up and I say, in Chinese "Don't worry, I can speak Chinese." The worker, still looking like I'm Micheal Meyers about to stab her through the eye, says in Chinese "I don't understand English." I try again. "I can speak Chinese." She panics even more and says more loudly in Chinese "I don't understand English!". I look at her coworker, who is standing next to her, and we share a super confused look. He tells her "She's speaking Chinese, I understood everything she said."

Story 3: OP's mom is awesome.
Story 4: another Karen who would deny her own racism.
Story 5: I hope the woman got jail time, as well as being banned from the store.

Besides, actual Mexicans living in the country LOVE seeing this sort of stuff overseas. Mariachis, big sombreros, maracas, cut paper as decoration, Virgen Marías, luchadores, tequila... We *love* that stuff. The only way we see something as racist towards us, is if it deliberately paints us as subhuman, mentally deficient, or monstrous. To put an example, the old animated series *Mucha Lucha* is an odd case, since while we AGREED it was racist, people here loved that series as well.
Sometimes I feel Hispanic Americans are so ashamed of their heritage, they declare anything RESEMBLING Mexican culture as racist. Hence them banning Speedy Gonzales and trying to cancel Mexican Mario from *Super Mario Galaxy*.

For the story about the girl that was in choir at a restaurant, her mother or the manager should of called the cops on the Karen and have her charged with harassment. The next story the woman should have been charged for filing a false report along with harassment. The last story was a wholesome one, guess not all people are crazy.

    • @hardcorenativextreme
      @hardcorenativextreme ปีที่แล้ว

Calling the cops would escalate to the Karen way. Honestly it would help get the false point she was going for to look true. Specious and spurious things you don't add validity to, she was trying to say racism is happening when it was not even occurring. As a man of color and that's not black but as a man that has experienced racism. l know where it is racist and when it just plain bad customer service. Nowadays with social media the superficial racism that is just not actually there is being blown up. People are willing to throw the race card everything and don't realize it is the boy who cry wolf and makes it hard to actually reveal true evilness that dwell in the shadows. Too many wannabe activists are out there that the real ones can't be in the light.

I don't know the laws, I asume this incident was in America, but where I live it's illeagel to publish any fotos, video or audio footage without the consent of the people that are portrayed in the footage. So if someone would upload this kind of video without scrambleing the face of the person and the make the voice different (especially if this person is under age) the one who uploeaded the video would get heavy fines or even jail time if the people portrayed in it would find out and sue.

*Fourth Story:* Had that happen to me when some Karen/Kevin on a social justice kick thinks I'm "appropriating" Chicano culture. I _am_ a Chicano and a mestizo! I'm just fair-skinned FFS.
*Fifth Story:* Nice to hear the lady got arrested. Having PTSD myself, I know what OP means they say it can flip a switch in you. You devolve into pure survival mode and react on the most instinctual levels, sans any real conscious control and sometimes even memory after the fact. Depending on whether it's fight-or-flight that wins, and if the sufferer has any self-defense training, things can go horribly wrong pretty fast for the provocateur.

It's really not that difficult to be honest. If you are someone, who pays attention to their environment you notice sth like that. It's all about bodylanguage. I do martial arts and our sensei always teaches us how to have an "impressive" posture, how to keep our back straight, etc.. If you keep your head down, your shoulders buckled down you will be seen as someone who doesn't want to be seen. There are even statistics that say, that people who "walk confidently" even if they are shy, are less likely to be targeted by robberys or (in thst case) wild karens. I think those karens instinctively seek out those who seem sheepishly or shy.. But that's just my hypothesis 😊

IMHO, the OP in the restaurant doesn't ever have to worry about THAT video surfacing anytime soon or ever for the mere fact that the EW (Entitled Woman) really embarrassed herself badly in public. She probably deleted it immediately so none of her friends or family would find out about it. That's not something that can be lived down or swept under a rug easily. So, I and a friend were at Wal-Mart and I had on black shorts and a gudetama shirt. And I had my earphones in due to sensory issues. And a older woman came up to me. And said. "Excuse me, do you work here?" I turn around and politely said. "No, ma'am. Sorry." And she then said. "Oh my God, your a kid!" And I smiled at her and said. Provoke an angry black woman My mother has admitted she's racist towards white people. She just a lot better at hiding in that. You can have a normal conversation towards you even if you're white and she's not openly racist. She does have nasty comment but that's to herself and In private distant from her childhood where she was racially profiled and mistreated by very racist people growing up so she can help herself And at the best you could do is tolerate. And this was different since my mother is usually the type ready to throw down. But yeah that karen was very lucky and my mother is the worst person you want to fight. With my item in my hands I was waiting in line when this young lady approached me and said “that her boyfriend had bought the same item and it broke and that I should buy the protection plan.”
Taking in how she was dressed I knew she worked there and was being a shill. Her clothes were perfectly dry and she wasn’t wearing outerwear. Outside it was on and off light rain with a chill wind that sliced through you.
I just said “I don’t need a shill and go away.”

My daughter was studying in China and she had studied Mandarin for several years before going abroad.
She was at least competent in the language. She is also is a very typical white, blue eyed, golden brown haired American .
She found that the local often couldn’t understand her because they were staring at her blue eyes. Their brain didn’t seem to comprehend she was speaking Chinese because she was so foreign. She was studying in a small city that didn’t get as many tourists.

I guess we are just a clan of Northern European mutants.
My friend and her family visited China . While all of them have startling blue eyes her husband and daughter top it off with natural white blonde hair and her husband is very large. ( think angry Viking)

We went to purchase tickets and were told they were only selling advanced tickets to the touring VanGough exhibit and to go on in. Not long after entering we meet a delightful gentleman who offered to give us a tour of the current exhibits. He was so knowledgeable and made our visit a truly memorable one. Because of this strangers generosity and fabulous your, we stopped at the main desk to make a donation. The woman working at the main desk said they only take donations on Sunday when the museum is free. Karens are not looking for help for helps sake, they are looking for a servant/slave to do their dirty work.

A lot of people these days are quick to pull out the racist card in every situation.
I have never said anything racist to anyone in my life, however whilst doing my job as a bartender I got accused of being racist because I asked a guy for his ID since he was the only young looking person(to me he looked like 16) at the table unfortunately for me he also happened to be the only black guy at the table and he went off on me saying "it's white privilege" how I'm a racist b*tch who needs her head bashed in as he slammed his ID on bar(he was 22). After that last comment my boss kicked him out of the restaurant for threatening his staff.

    1. It was solid color and fit the color scheme of their level [ex. Tan for regular store staff, blue for store management, and (when there's more than one store) pink for the corporate team]
    2. It was official company "Merchandise" (as in it had the company logo on it somewhere)

I love your work, and your voice is great for the things you read. My only issue is that you add to the stories you're reading.
For example, in story 4, 11:14 it says "C: uhh? What?" You add to the beginning of that "my cousin's confused, and he says..."
I don't know if this is an issue for anyone else, but I have sensory issues and when I try to read along, knowing this is something you regularly do (as I said, I love your work, otherwise I wouldn't be listening to it knowing all this), I get a kind of visceral response that's very sharp and very hard to ignore.
