stealing tech is so strong. I main Honda and play a very basic style, though not overly aggressive like some others like to do. Watched some NassimClaw's replays (way before last week's tourney), he approaches the character in a completely different way. I know it's the same situation as Snake and Gief (he just makes the character work with sheer talent alone), but still it was very inspiring.
@@shinluis I don't use dr after every knockdown, I try to play a bit of neutral with f hk, st mp and such. and I just can't make myself spam head/butt one after another, although I know that's kinda the point of the character. and the most lacking aspects of my game right now are corner pressure and whiff punishes. it took me 77 hours of ranked to go all the way from Rookie (yes, I'm not kidding) to Master. in my defense, tough, this is my 1st SF game:D
@@JahlisManlol I hate Honda but respect your play style. I’ve seen a Ken player that had 600hrs in ranked that only play Ken is still in diamond so don’t feel bad about taking 70hrs to get to master.
Thank you for doing videos like this. Watching replays helps, but havung someone explain the less obvious aspects, like the same side safe jump setup, makes it so much more useful.
She has a nifty trade combo after crouching light punch into heavy quarter circle back. If they press anything slower than 4 frames they’ll just get hit but if they use a 4 frame it will trade and you can connect with standing heavy kick. I personally like to use OD Serpent lash after the heavy kick and then safe jump set up. Also instead of crouching medium punch OD fireball I use OD serpent lash. It’s more brain dead because you don’t have to see if it hits. It will bring them to you and you can combo.
The crouch heavy kick anti air trade felt favorable. Looks like he had a setup in case of trades, and that lead to the grab tech whiff which let him hc the whiff punish
I might be wrong, but on that Chun Li max damage combo couldn't Hikaru not do that first combo due to how much drive gauge they had? I think they still could've gotten that 2nd combo off though.
Depends on the player. Microwalks are very easy to screw up under pressure, so it's up to if the player is willing to gamble on their execution for the combo. Some players bust out the god combo every time, other players stick with the easy stuff, both of these kinds of players win tournaments all the time.
Exactly what Kevin said. The rule of thumb for hard combos is, if the optimal/hard combo would kill in a situation where the easy combo would not, then try to go for the optimal!😊
I've been watching a good amount of Words Aki as well. I've noticed he always does a double dash instead of safe jump/medium slide after heavy whip midsecreen. Is there a particular benefit to this option over the other 2 that I'm missing?
Safejump is a little more risky midscreen if your opponent is doing a good job mixing up between quickrise and backroll, since you have a very tiny window to react and switch between jump HP/HK vs jump 2HP. Safejump also leaves you a bit more vulnerable to perfect parry, which doesn't lead to a punish but does give your opponent a point blank +2 situation. Both are good options tho.
@@BroskiFGCI think jump HK is the better option since it comes out faster, just my two cents considering Gong Fu or HK is going to hit last frame pretty much, doesn't seem too bad on reaction. Another thing I've seen is just empty jump into crouch LK into whatever
I always go for medium slide but sometimes I go for double dash when my hands are tired since you can mess up the medium slide easier than the double dash after a long session of playing
The stream browser has literally only ever watched street fighter videos, thats just youtube trying to get me to watch their promoted shite. Same with the football video.
Big disagree on the point about only watching top player replays vs. other top players. In order to climb, you NEED to understand how to deal with super degenerate low level strategies, and watching a top player plow over someone who spam's Luke's target combo for the entire match, or a Honda who literally just spams Headbutt and Sumo Smash for the entire game, would be extremely enlightening and would help players who don't know all the correct responses to all these scrubby gimmicks and knowledge checks understand how to deal with such players as efficiently as possible, and actually start climbing to a level where they never have to deal with these types of players anymore.

You talk like a tech player if there ever was one.
I appreciate the explanation of the same side safejump, I was wondering why the Rashid got hit there.

Great video! Learnt a new tech with three jabs into hvy whip. Will add to my game. Thanks
The 5k combo you showed off was hella clutch. Great analysis
The consistent safe jump setup at the end was pretty cool, I didn’t know about it before
That harp playing in the background... I see the editor also finds Broski dreamy
The gravity rush music at the beginning lol
I subscribed because of AKI. Happy to see stuff here
Wow that triple drive rush combo is crazy I had no idea that was possible w her.
btw microwalk optimisations require at least 2 frames to gain meter so it is actually frame perfect in that drive rush combo.

I have to say I love the choice of Pokémon sun and moon music here
I've never played this game but watching this video just increased my I.Q. by nine points

im stealing tech as im stealing tech
I'm surprised you dont use EX fireball in strings, since it has the SFV thing where it's plus on block (outsider's perspective tho)
What’s the music at the start? Hear it all the time in YT videos but don’t know what it is.
Pleasure District theme from Gravity Rush 1 & 2

Second combo would've worked. 4.01 bars of drive required for that one, which he had.
Yeah that's what I thought. Thanks for all of the great tech and insight you provide! Appreciate it@@BroskiFGC

Any chance you’re going to try Sim again?

Hikaru and Word are the best AKI’s atm. Nemo is good to but I dont think Nemo wants to really keep playing her
AKI is wayyy stronger than people think. So many down players 😂
Piers Morgan? C'mon man...
