    Can I just break a stereotype here? I'm a Christian. My best friend is gay. My favorite actor is gay. There's nothing wrong with being gay. So if you have a comment to leave that will hurt someone's feelings, please don't do it here. Thank you

      leonard2209 I'm not christian, but I've been raised in the faith. Being discriminatory and judging people is a much worst sin. Judging is not your responsibility nor your right, it belongs to your god, and you know that taking god's place is a way bigger sin than almost anything else.

      Can I break the news to you that you are NOT a Christian ? You are of this world and a lost person who makes excuses for sin and the consequences of sinful lusts . As a Christian you should consider the bible his word should be your authority and yet you reject his laws and warnings in the bible . You are false and bear bad fruit .. Not a Christian , you are only fooling yourself

    I came out when I was 12 and I was bullied a lot. But when I saw that Neil Patrick Harris made this video, I watched it almost every day and it helped me get through it. He has always been my idol from when I was a little girl. And he's so right. It does get better.

    Every single soul out there who is somehow against "Homosexuality" is insecure himself, about his own sexuality.. That's just the way it is and there is no other way. If the person was not to be insecure about himself he probably wouldn't give a shit.. But being insecure can turn anyone into a hating homophobe.

      Ivan Car Creation doesn't end in Genesis; the world is constantly changing, going in a cycle of birth, death, and rebirth, and I for one think that that is beautiful. :p Besides, that was back when there were two people on Earth. If anything, the world is overpopulated now. There is a vast competition of resources. I think we can afford if some people don't reproduce. Besides, there are children who are already here who need love and care, and they don't care where it comes from; all they want is to be loved.

      Animals are animals. Sure, I've seen male dogs hump other male dogs. But I've also seen my dog hump a plush toy and other inatimate objects(he also attempts to hump me) so, what's your point? Saying animals display homosexuality isn't really making much of a statement considering that animals often mindlessly hump anything they please.

    The problem with committing suicide when a person is being bullied is that the person committing suicide has the wrong conception. They think that be committing suicide, it will all go away. Fact is, it does not. People will continue to talk about you even after you are gone. They will have even more to talk about because they will say you are a loser and took the easy way out. This talk will get back to your parents and loved ones and it will cut like a knife. It will bring shame to them. It is better to suffer through the bullying and rise above it. Show those who are bullying you that you are a better person than they are. Do not let they win by driving you to commit suicide. That is what they want. Once they have succeed with you, they will just move on to someone else. Do not give them the satisfaction of winning and do not allow it to go on.

    To the people here that are trying to use your religion to say we are wrong you need to stop. Just because you believe in one religion doesn't mean that we do. Backing yourself with religion is like backing yourself with a piece of crap it wont work why because there is many religions and many pieces of crap. Try actually getting some facts before you try to back yourself. Also don't hate on something that you don't know nor understand it isn't right I respect everyone and I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion but don't take it too far and don't bring religion into it. Like I said we may not believe in the same religion that you do so don't use your religion to say we are wrong.

    This is just wrong. How can somebody as handsome as Neil Patrick Harris be gay? I wouldn't bully gay people for their feelings. But that's not actually how they feel. They all just fell into a complicated way somehow which made them think they're diffirent. They made themselves think that they're not supposed to be straight inside their mind without even realizing it. Including Neil. There are no such thing as being gay. If you're gay, you're not, because you're kidding yourself. Just think about it and you'll see that you're not this person. God created man for woman, and woman for man. There can't be any other way. This is not natural. This is not how human kind is. You're just making yourself believe that there can be. Don't just say that "I'm proud of who I am" because that's not who you are at all. Please just think about it before you decide you're gay.

    • @elyab2553
      @elyab2553 10 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      It's not something you decide. Sit down. Shut up. You wouldn't know, and to be honest, neither do I because I am bisexual. Sexuality is something that you know without fully knowing. I have always been attracted to boys. I also am attracted to girls too. It shouldn't matter to you or any other bigoted homophobes because it doesn't actually affect you. *sashays out of room*

      regularshow960 By saying their feelings don't exist, you're alienating them as a part of humanity. So glad Pope Francis is around to clean the gutters of christianity.

    • @nitesatyr
      @nitesatyr 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      regularshow960 I would HIGHLY recommend that you go to the APA site and research homosexuality. Here's a start "Since 1975, the American Psychological Association has called on psychologists to take the lead in removing the stigma of mental illness that has long been associated with lesbian, gay, and bisexual orientations. The discipline of psychology is concerned with the well-being of people and groups and therefore with threats to that well-being. The prejudice and discrimination that people who identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual regularly experience have been shown to have negative psychological effects." They also clarify that "most people experience little or no sense of choice about their sexual orientation." Your religious arguments are not based only ANY facts. Please educate yourself and keep your religious bias out of your statement, it really doesn't make you look good. One more FACT "All teenagers face certain developmental challenges, such as developing social skills, thinking about career choices and fitting into a peer group. Like most heterosexual youths, most lesbian, gay and bisexual youths are healthy individuals who have significant attachments to and make contributions to their families, peers, schools and religious institutions.
      However, lesbian, gay and bisexual youth must also cope with the prejudice, discrimination and violence in society and, in some cases, in their own families, schools and communities. Such marginalization negatively affects the health, mental health and education of those lesbian, gay and bisexual young people who experience it. For example, in one study, these students were more likely than heterosexual students to report missing school due to fear, being threatened by other students, and having their property damaged at school.1 The promotion in schools of efforts to change sexual orientation by therapy or through religious ministries seems likely to exacerbate the risk of harassment, harm and fear for these youth." source APA

    I am not a Christian or religious at all, but I can definitely respect someone like that. I actually have a next door neighbor who's a devout Christian, but though I am not religious and I am bisexual, she's never judged me in any way. She has shown me that there are many paths to a heart filled with love. Mine does not involve Jesus, but hers, and yours, do, and that's just fine. If only all religious people were like you, this world would be such a great place.

    I agree with what he says about things getting better when you grow up. I'm not gay, but quite eccentric. That's why I got reguarly bullied at school when I was younger. Now I'm one of the more popular individuals where I live, because I'm different.
    It's important not to bow down before the bullies and let them have their way.

    Anybody out there that feels that they can't go on for any reason at all, including feeling outcast, or is being ridiculed for not being what others want or expect you to be, the best thing you can do is to stand tall and ignore it. It does get easier. Carry on with your life, and most importantly do what makes you happy ALWAYS. There are more people out there who understand what you are going through than you think, and we're all supporters of you =)

    It's so brave of 'phobes to post hate to an "it gets better video" and defend "bullying". I can almost feel the love. Really though it gets better when you grow up. The 'phobes stay stupid and live their lives as internet trolls while we grow up to be confident in who we are so we don't have to waste time on the hate. Unless we choose to, and thankfully though you may not be able to change who you are, you do get to choose how you respond.

    I don't know where you're getting your definition of shaman from, but that is most certainly NOT the definition of a shaman, and not a definition that I've ever seen before.
    What form(s) of yoga do you practice, out of curiosity? I did kundalini yoga several times a week (usually three-to-four) for four or five years and found it quite beneficial; however, it still didn't even come close in terms of benefit to some of my chemically induced experiences. I plan to resume meditating again soon.

    Not to mention, your "peak" is completely of your own construction, regardless of how you frame it with yoga or any other form of mysticism, or even how you frame those mysticisms (calling them by any other name, citing them as sources of ultimate truth). Those are all ultimately tools of your mind to serve your own biases. No amount of yoga will prevent your mind from being self-serving. It can help you access consciousness that is precursory to the self-serving mind, but the mind persists.

    The space between the subjective observer and the mind is what I meant by "access conscious that is precursory to the self-serving mind." That space seems to be narrowing when you tell other people to "get fucked" or define their emotional experiences for them ("butt hurt"), justify it by claiming you're trying to "pull back people's skin," and judging anything that differs from your opinion as "ear-tickling" or "bullshit." Insulting, trivializing, and antagonizing were never encouraged in Zen.

    this is a very inspiring message. life does get better after Highschool, no need to try to fit in or be accepted by the "cool people" in univeristy/college nobody cares about that kind of stuff. all the "cool" people from highschool arnt really that cool after highschool and everyone just moves on with life. that's what i've learned :)

    Good call on the difference between the construction of gender codes versus how it's actually expressed, in its many many different ways. "den Breeijen" is Dutch. Nice dance pads.

    This video made me sad. Made me think of how much i hate some people.
    Bullying made me quit highschool, i have been building up courage for the last 2 years to go back and get the diploma. This year i'm going to do it. I don't even know why being called gay hurts so much, i'm not gay, yet it still affects me so, that's what i find weird.
