Zigfried was one of my favourite characters from the original anime and I run a Valkyrie deck that whilst not hyper competitive, occasionally nets me a win whenever I manage to pull of the Ride/Time Goddess combo. 😍
I'm just going to ahead and assume luminous spark is a joke pick for a tech card and recommend a field spell that does the same thing, but better. The Seal of Orichalcos gives the same amount of attack for all monsters you control without dropping their defense, can't be destroyed by card effect once per turn, and prevents your opponent from attacking your lowest attack monsters. Yes it destroys your special summoned monsters upon activation, but that can easily be avoided if you simply play seal before special summoning. And while it does lock you out of the extra deck, Valkyries currently don't have any extra deck monsters so it doesn't really matter for them.
Also, I should bring up the card "How did Dai get here?". It can not only summon a monster from the deck, but more importantly, can place a field spell from the deck to the field face up. And since it technically doesn't activate the card to my knowledge, that means that if the seal leaves the field, it can still be activated if you can bring it back to your hand. Mind you, I'm going by what i experienced in edopro, so take my advice with a grain of salt.
@@ionicphoenix5136 good generic card for fairy decks in general since it gives them some extra survivability, but it doesn't really do anything to further the game plan. They need cards that boost their attack more than anything else so seal of orichalcos is better for them. It might be worth if you wanna splash some agent/hyperion cards, but at that point you're better off playing agent/hyperion.
It gains access to a lot of other fairy cards other than Valkyries. Plus the agent cards can allow extra deck plays. Or use it with the counter parshath, Yes with the goddess trio on the field counter is impossible but the trio isn't necessary. Honestly I just wanna see some defense for the archetype as soon as the other player gets a turn its going to be hard to survive. And I like the zero damage from battles with sanctuary itself it would enable the battle destruction card and would mean the opponent will have a harder time taking your lp.
That funny i play Luminous Sparkin my VALKYRIE too but i also play CIRCLE OF ORICHALCOS on Master Duel for fun like i did today in the Dark vs Light and it was fun because i like playing fun decks and it feels so good when you beat someone with a VALKYRIES deck and they are using a try hard deck
Ziegfried von Schroder is my favorite DM villain only because he is the only one whose power doesnt come from shadow magic or ancient mystical items. He is just a computer genius and hacker which makes him the most grounded and believable. I also like how the revenge plot isnt against Yugi or his friends, but instead at Kaiba. He just wants to ruin Kaiba Corp, not take over the world. I find that refreshing and a template I wish more yugioh villains followed, but I understand why that might not be so appealing to kids.
As a valkyrie player one of the hardest things i came across was army of boss monsters "break my board" negates waiting. I then found myself using Dark ruler no more to use my first battle phase to clear their monsters then my second battle phase to do the damage putting them in a vripple position they 95%of the time they dont come back from.
What also sucks is that alot of their support is archetype exclusive and requires you to only run Valkyrie cards in order to use their effects so you can't even pair them with other light/fairy cards very well. Brunhilde (my favorite) is definitely the best of the bunch because she's the most generic and you can use her by herself if need be.
Ah! My Goddess! That aside, I've been looking for an all-light-attribute deck and Valkyrie was considered on the short list. I'd rather not be associated with that purple-haired freak but I wouldn't mind giving Valkyrie a try in Master Duel.
With the Volsung Saga and the Nibelungedlied as my favourite stories, I have tried to build a "good" Valkyrie deck for master duel and edopro. however, without following every card released (and too many to keep track personally) I am reliant on seasoned players like you to help me see the possibilities. Also, I hope for an eventual release of Nibelung's treasure an Nibelung's ring. two anime cards with potential draw power that if made exclusive to the archetype, could be a massive boost considering, from personal experience, Valkyries struggle with high their competitive plays at at that stage, I see players burn through almost half their deck on their opening plays alone.
I would say more support is needed. Given the way they work, they would benefit greatly from valkyrie themed pendulum monsters. I would also like to see better on theme spells. Also for tech picks, monster reborn and water of life are useful as they can revive sechste or sigrund to grant a bonus summon giving you two valkyries for one card, side note: with water of life you can only activate the effect of the card it revives. I also use world legacy monstrosity in order to summon out sigrund to trigger her effect again allowing two valkyries for the price of one spell card.
Valkyrie was a very unique and beautiful archetype in Yugioh. Zigfried was a cool antagonist in DM who doesn't have a grudge on Yugi or his friends, but Kaiba instead
yeah i made one of these in MD cause "oh warrior anime girls" and then get wrecked with them. although somehow in recent events like light and dark and the last type theme one I used these to somewhat okay success. just wish I really knew how to field things consistently or have whatever i manage to get on board able to actually kill things

Hey, what about the accidentally archetypal "Element Valkyrie"? Given that Valkyries are choosers of the slain, I'm disappointed that the archetype doesn't involve a lot of summoning monsters from the graveyard. It would be especially on-theme for Valkyries if they could summon any monsters from the graveyard, not restricted to summoning Valkyries, but possibly it could be limited to monsters destroyed by battle or maybe you can only use that effect at the moment a monster is sent to the graveyard. It would clash with the restrictions on these actual cards that some effects are turned off when you have non-"Valkyrie" monsters on the field, so maybe they would have had to change that too if they went in this direction.

I always get this archetype mixed up with the Valhalla one from Yu-Gi-Oh 5ds. I always think they are both a part of the same archetype. Yet they aren't. pretty cool deck though
Give them a few links and Xyz and maybe a few tuners and Synchros. What they lack is consistency with all the bricks the deck has... so some extra deck wreckers would solve all that. Imagine if Chest that summons from deck set off a 1 card U Link and no mon spaces left Mischef play. Searchable because a link one or two it could summon out could search all you need. Maybe a boss that debuffs oppents monsters based off the buffs on your side and protects from stuff. I feel its an arch type that is maybe 3 or 4 cards off from Ishizu level game changes. As you said they fit in their own niche and so the game is not ready for a FTK or OTK build. Maybe a card that allows turn 1 battle phases but is arch type locked with that effect.
I find Valkyries frustrating to balance. The archetype is inconsistent to the point of half its cards not having "Valkyrie" in the name, the searchers are weird, the tribute monsters are difficult to bring out, and combos strongly rely on heavy setups and topdecks. It's really hard to get them going, and it needs to many pieces to stabilize. But the designs are great, and it's exhilarating to actually pull off a Mischief combo, plus there are so many small engines you can add in to benefit from the turn skip!
Haven't played it in awhile but i think i did see a cut scene involving how pegasus is dead to certain versions of the og cast on youtube. So wouldn't it mean it's a mix of both anime and manga?

I am a tiny bit sad that you didn't go for the joke to partially throw out the usual level-based Main Deck Monster Order and instead count up the smaller Valkyries as their names suggest. Granted, you probably don't even know what I mean by that.
The thing I hate with the Valkyrie archetype is that most of the names and artwork are not even Norse/Scandinavian, I mean take ride of the Valkyries for example in the artwork it depicts Greek buildings, and then some cards depicts/mentions Pegasus which I’m pretty sure is only in Greek mythology, and then the only names that are Norse (at least from what I know) is Brunhilde, Sigrun, Erda and Dritte. I’m just upset because I am Norse and is really into Norse mythology.

Dark ruler is so funny with Valeries, you can clear their board on BP1 then deal all the damage in BP2

Most of the cards have a 0.001 percentage of play,I would know as I play them & have never encountered anyone else playing them.

I feel like they focused this archetype of effects to much without making any cards that can function as good beat sticks.
The later added union monsters are supposed to act as tools to make a Valkyrie a beat stick.
Valkyrie's one of my favoritte archtypes yeah, they are not great but I like them anyway.
