On playground the dino deck was unstoppable. The pill allowing easy 3000 beaters with no restrictions was just brutal in a meta of "set x pass" for 12 turns straight. It got worse when our group scored some extra deck and nomi monsters to work with, because the spanish pill I had was horribly written and said "normal OR SPECIAL summon without tributing", instead of "normal summon DINOSAURS without tributing" for whatever reason, and we basically interpreted it as "all players can summon anything they want from your hand/extra deck ignoring their summoning conditions". No points for guessing how many turns our games lasted under THAT ruleset. And honestly, the Tyrannos aren't even that bad. Ultimate Tyranno DOES have a few tops from what I remember, it did see some play with Ojama Trio to set up easy OTKs. As for Super Conductor, if only it hadn't had that "once per turn" restriction, you bet it would have seen WAY more competitive success than it's current niche of being a searchable time card... I fondly remember using Black Ptera with my brother's Cannon Soldier and Ultimate Offering, wich does just BARELY enough to OTK the opponents if you start the combo with the same amount of LP. Imagine being able to double the speed at wich they got melted. Come on, Konami, Dinos already have other FTKs available to them, get on with it!
As an owner of the dino deck, SCT sucked because 1,000 burn damage once a turn was redundant when you could just use the 3,300 attack it has, especially when using the effect locks SCT out from attacking. You could even use Ultimate Tyranno's "smack every monster your opponent has" effect to clear the way. Ironically, Ultimate Conductor Tyranno is literally these two but better; its own Special Summon effect was banishing two dinos to bring it out, and all three Tyrannos are Light dinos. The banish effect also gives Tyranno Infinity a quick 2,000 attack boost for if you feel like dropping him in as a last resort. Big Evolution Pill was good since it cut out all need for tributes, but it's effectively only good for three normal summons, considering it has a three-turn limit and the would-be tribute eats your normal summon. Until dinos got the support they have now (Lost World, Double Evo. Pill, UCT, Misc, Pankratops, Petiteranadon and Oviraptior), they just weren't fast enough to keep up with other decks with better and more consistent combos.
One of the first Yu-Gi-Oh products I ever purchased was the Simorgh/Hapies structure deck. And even at the time, when I played without knowing all of the rules and against my younger brother, I realized that Simorgh was impossible to summon and did nothing on the board, so I quickly cut it in favor of some random other cards I had traded during recess.
Yeah, for me that deck was the start of me really trying at yugioh but I always regarded the plethora of harpie cards it provided as immanently more useful than Simorgh.
I owned every single one of these structure decks growing up and my little brother and I would pass them back and forth and duel each other. Our BIGGEST nightmare was summoning these boss monsters. The summoning requirements felt so weird when they weren't simply Tributing 2 monsters, and we audibly groaned when we drew some of them xD Whoever had the Super Conductor Tyranno deck often won the match
Structure decks lately have been super nice tho. These old decks just make me more grateful for how much better they are today. I hear there's a new Atlantean deck coming out too to counter the Fire Kings, and I am soo excited for that.
God, i'd be so hyped for that. The Sea Emperor structure was my first introduction to Yugioh over 10 years ago now, i'd love to dust off those old cards and combine them with new structure deck support!
My favourite was the Dinosaur because I was into Jurassic Park when I was a kid and it had one of my favourite Fusions of all time was in the Structure Deck that of Five Headed Dragon.
I had the Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon when I was a kid, and I loved it so much i showed it off at school the following week. However, when I was showing off my cards to my friends, a kid from a grade above me stole my Gadjiltron Dragon when I wasn't looking, and I never saw it again
I will never forget Felgrand Dragon! Still my favorite terrible boss monster. Nostalgia and love is really addictive so I still play with it from time to time. May the Divine Dragon Lords rise again!
For context, when I was younger I thought I could activate it's effect as an ignition effect as many times as I wanted while it was on the field after it had been special summoned from the GY. This effectively gave me monster with infinite ATK. I know better now and still love the card but back then I didn't !
I had friends in high school who had these decks! My pet deck was Blue-Eyes (that I built from the Saga of Blue-Eyes White Dragon structure deck) and I had a friend who had the Dinosaur's Rage structure deck, and Super Conductor Tyranno's 3400 ATK gave my Blue-Eyes a run for its money!
Ideas to improve/retrain each lacking card I see: Firstly 1:12 _Red-Eyes Tyrant Dragon_ (DARK) Level 9 Dragon/Effect _Cannot be normal summoned/set. Must be special summoned by its own effect. You can tribute 2 or more face-up “Red-Eyes” cards you control (Quick Effect): Special summon this card from your hand or GY. Gains 300 ATK/DEF for every card that is on the field, in the GY, and in each players hands. If this card destroys an opponent’s monster by battle, it can attack again in a row. If your opponent activates a Spell Card, you can activate 1 Spell/Trap from your hand or deck that mentions “Red-Eyes” in its name or effects. If your opponent summons a monster: You can Special Summon 1 monster that mentions “Red-Eyes” in it’s name or effect from your hand or Deck._ ATK/2400 DEF/2000
I played a deck with the fire structure deck (still kind of have that deck, but slightly upgraded somewhere) and I remember playing against ny friends whom were terrified of the raw burn power of that deck and never let my boss monster stick around long enough to use it's effect. Then, one time I finally planted him on the field and they were shocked and worried, because they didn't have a response to the summon. Then, for the first time ever I activated it's effect and... They were like "Oh, is that all it did? I wasted so much time preventing that thing from coming down, I didn't know it didn't do much." Well... He did enough. He attacked for game the next time the next turn I got. I only had him in there because you're forced to attack it (or different pyro monsters) if Solar Flare Dragon was on the board.
With Warlock I made a build which once is out you'll use Toon Tables searching each other and Tremendous Fire to do big chunks of damage. It wasn't tourney worth it but still was a fun game plan.
I had the Dinosaurs Rage as a kid and it slapped in the playground. 3300atk was the biggest main deck monster that did not get boosts from other cards. It also was very easy to summon with an in archetype call of the haunted‚ actual call of the haunted and other reborn spells. But‚ the best two tribute in the deck was definitely Ultimate Tyranno. A 3k beatstick that can attack all monsters your opponent controls was very difficult to deal with as it could completely clear the board if uninterrupted.
I remember going to a locals with the Vampire Genesis structure deck. I actually did really well with it even won a few matches with it. Though I don't remember using the Genesis boss monster much. It was actually better for me to have the Lord out most of the time.
So the funny thing about the Zombie Madness and Dragon's Roar decks based on my experience playing them at my locals (which was super casual with like maybe 1 or 2 people with actual competitive decks) is that I definitely won more with the Zombie deck, but it was not that difficult to get Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon out in the dragon deck because it was often pretty easy to grab a Black Chick while you had Red-Eyes and Darkness dragon in hand. On the other hand, I don't think I ever successfully summoned Vampire Genesis because with Pyramid turtle you usually grabbed Ryu Kokki instead of Vampire Lord as Ryu Kokki had more attack and most casual players would play lots of big attack or defence monsters that could kill or stymie Vampire Lord and not many people played destruction effects. So in my head, Darkness Dragon seems the far superior boss monster because I got it out a lot and usually it would win the game as by attributing chick and Red-Eyes B. Dragon it would come out with at least 3000 ATK
I had the water one and even as a kid I figured out to stick with Levia Dragon, 1 tribute 2800 attack under Legendary Ocean that can blow everything up was a lot of fun. Even if not super competitive.
I never played Yugioh, but for some reason I had a ton of cards I liked to look at when I was a kid. I always thought it was just a random assortment of Yugioh cards. After seeing this video, I see somebody bought me all these structure decks. Crazy
I owned the Simurgh structure deck. It went decently when playing casual at my locals. I understood the focus of the deck being focused around backrow control, and kinda fixed the deck from there. Thankfully, iirc this came out around the time the series of monsters that count as two tributes were released which made getting this out a bit faster, so it didnt do too bad
Man, I had both the Dino and Ancient Gear structure decks. I was more successful with the Dino deck primarily because of Tyranno ♾️. I had to depend on Hunting instinct to get either Superconductor T. , Ultimate Tyranno or Black Tyranno out. When Superconductor T. or Ultimate Tyranno came out, I just loved seeing the sheer concern on my friends faces.😂
This is nostalgic, back in the day all my friends had different structure decks and it was so much fun, i had a dragon deck and replaced red eyes wizh the horus line and put in a lot of negates and backrow destruction it was pretty good. A friend even buildt a custom insect structure deck that was amazing he almost won a local turnament with it and people couldnt beleave it, good times
i still have my entire zombie structure deck, deck was crazy with how much advantage it could get back in the day. ending a game with dark dust spriit was also super satisfying. Barely got to use the boss monster though since i found myself never really needing it or its effect
Really Loved this series Mr Dzeeff, love your descriptions and how you know they were or went used in comps. Your explanations are amazing, I love the use of the mat to show people how you'd play a certain type of card or a certain type of play. Helps to visualize the infinite loops you talked about in the other video.
You must've obtained the regular Dino deck, Dzeef. I got the special edition one that had Five-Headed Dragon in it, so I am a bit bummed that the card had no mention in it.
Used to play the Blaze of Destruction deck in Middle School and ran shop with it. The quicker I got 2 Solar Fare Dragons out together so they could both be non-targetable, the better. lol
I used to combine the 3 boss monsters from the dinosaur structure deck including Superconductor Tyranno with the Rise Of The Dragon Lords structure deck with Felgrand Dragon and the Mausoleum Of The Emperor field spell. It was pretty fun.
Dragon's Roar and Zombie Madness I had, and both are actually good enough to teach NEW players about Goat Format or at least post-Goat Format, and just learning Yu-Gi-Oh! in general, better than the 2-player starter set that Konami recently released btw. And yes I was one of those kids that tried to summon the main boss monster of those decks.
This vid made me nostalgic. Zombie madness is my first yugioh deck and what made me love and continuously use zombie decks. I dont use genesis vampire even back then because its really hard to summon it and waiting for it isnt worth it, i mostly use pyramid turtle > ryu kokki or spam revival and summon dark dust spirit.
Actually, I did use Darkness dragon in the deck I took to locals at the time. I leaned more into the armed dragon part of the deck as I was able to pull lv 7 and 10 from the Chazz packs. so I stuck with the one copy of each Red eyes and basically used them as fodder for the armed dragon effects if I didn't draw the combo.
Fun video. Great trip down memory lane. I absolutely played with these in my day. The zombie deck in particular felt absolutely cracked compared to the durdling value piles me and my friends built. I definitely remember feeling invincible with my tornado wall and 1-tribute 2800 ATK board wiper when I played the levia dragon deck.
Oh man, I remember terrorizing the other kids in school with structure decks. Our church gave us money for getting straight A's, and the first thing I'd do was check the local pharmacy or the Walmart in the next town over to see if a new deck came out. I wish they did dual SDs like this again. It would have been cool if we had an atlantean deck come out when FK did.
I had some of those decks when I was a kid, and for me that was the golden age of Yu-Gi-Oh! May be because of nostalgia. Right now I have them all complete, and sometimes go to locals to ask people to play with me using them like back in the day. Those decks are really special for me. Greetings from Costa Rica.
I have very fond memories of Red Eyes Darkness Dragon, because i mained a Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon Deck in combonation with Dragon Ravine, so i could mill dragons very easily and was able to finish a lot of duels with it ♥️🤓
The old days of pre-errata REDMD (prior to Dragon Rulers). Summon dragon, banish, SS REDMD, effet, SS dragon, banish, SS REDMD, effect, SS dragon, banish, SS REDMD, effect, SS Prime Material Dragon.
personally speaking back in the day, friends and i had some of these decks and found the Rock deck with Exxod to be one of the best. there was actually one rock monster in that deck that was really threatening, it had no attack points and had a multiplier with however many rock monsters you had in your grave yard to amp it up, making it pretty devestatingly powerful. the water deck with the neo deadalous came in second as being a pretty strong deck at the time too.
Invincible Fortress was my favorite, you could bounce your opponent's field back to their hand. I used them for the D.S games, never irl because it wouldn't work. Blaze of Destruction is fun as well, creating a very annoying burn deck is fun. Wave Motion Cannon + 2x Solar Flare + Level Limit Area B + Ultimate offering + Dark Room of Nightmare.
My friends and I bought many these decks and played with them a lot, I have some really fond memories of those times. I vividly recall getting the water deck and dueling my friend who got the fire deck and while a few of the fire cards had potential like Solar Flare dragon (especially if you can get 2 in play at the same time), the water deck had more synergy as a cohesive strategy. I felt like such a genius when I realized A Legendary Ocean let you normal summon level 5 monsters without any tributes. Also it let you attack with your Level 4s through Gravity Bind, and could ping your opponent for 1700 every turn with a buffed Amphibious Burgoth MK-3 (which I couldn't pronounce at the time). Its funny to think that the boss monster (Neo-Daedalus) was bad, because Levia-Dragon - Daedalus filled that role well! Compared to a card like Mobius the Frost Monarch (which was already a great tribute monster), Daedalus was way better. Like Mobius, it only takes 1 tribute, if your field is up, but instead of popping 2 backrow, it popped ALL backrow and ALL other monsters. This was before the days of hand traps, back when Mirror Force was your main form of interruption. A 2700 that can board wipe the turn you summon it, back in 2004? Not bad!
9:10 I have a joint retrain of this and dark sage ready: _Dark Magician, The Eradicator Sage_ (DARK) Level 9 Spellcaster/Effect _Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by it’s own effect. During the main phase, If your opponent activated 5 or more Spell/Trap cards or effects this turn (Quick Effect): You can negate and tribute as many face-up Spells/Traps on the field as possible, and if you do, Special Summon this card from your hand, deck or GY, then your opponent can set 1 spell/trap from their hand or deck. You can only use this effect of "Dark Magician, The Eradicator Sage" once per turn. Each time a normal Spell/Trap card or effect is activated, apply 1 of the following effects:_ ⚪️Inflict 1000 damage to your opponent immediately after it resolves. ⚪️Increase your LP and this card’s ATK/DEF by 1000 immediately after it resolves. ATK/2800 DEF/3200
NEO-DAEDALUS is the boss back for me. One tribute for Daedalus with A Legendary Ocean, messenger of peace, sword of revealing light, and gravity bind to stall and bring it out. Easier today bc of FISH SONAR and Gizmek Orochi + A Legendary Ocean to bring it out!!!
I had (and still have) Blaze of Destruction, Invincible Fortress and Fury From the Deep, and I remember following the little card guides that came with them to boost the viability of the decks. I ended up adding cards like Orca Mega Fortress of Darkness to the water one and Sacred Phoenix and Terraforming to Blaze of Destruction. My brother had the Zombie Madness structure. Those were the times! 😎
I always loved the Dragon and Water deck. I still tinker with Water deck from time to time, even if you won't see them in competitive play. Neodaedalus just looks so cool.
I still have my red eyes darkness dragon from that era. I remember desperately trying (and failing) to pull an Armed Dragon Lv7 from booster packs so I could include it in the deck. Good times!
I had like 3 of them? Darkness Dragon, Flame Emporer, and Simorgh. I remember having Vampire Genesis the card but not the deck itself, and I remember having a lot of cards from the Dark magician one but dont remember having the boss monster. When these first started being rolled out I thought they were really cool because it was focusing on a strategy around some sort of archetype or mechanic instead of focusing on a character from the anime. However after the first few waves I started noticing the decks, at least the ones I chose out of the selections, weren't all that great when using them. I think this actually convinced me to buy tins, the first one or second I got had one of the Sacred Beasts, Raviel, and I pulled another one from the packs, I think the Slifer equivalent. I made my own Fiend deck with it and it was actually decent in my play group.
7:56 _Gilford the Infernoble Knight of Legend_ (FIRE) Level 8 Warrior/Effect _This card that is face-up on the field or in the GY is also treated as LIGHT and EARTH attribute. Equip spells equipped to monsters you control can be treated as tributes for this card’s summon. You can tribute summon this card using 3 tributes, and if you do: Destroy all monsters, spells or traps your opponent controls. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can equip any number of your equip spells that are banished or in the GY to any monsters you control._ ATK/2600 DEF/200
I made a dragon/dinosaur combo deck with the Red-Eyes and dinosaur decks. It was a super fun deck for playground duels, I loved it when I got Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon or Tyranno Infinity to an insane attack stat.
The water deck had great support outside of the decklist, and I actually placed at least once with a build using Umi, legendary ocean, maiden of the aqua, and Daedalus. 9 board wipes that also did other things when not being boardwipes.
Ngl the Og 3/4 of Yami Yugi's Dark Magician, Pegasus's Relinquished, and Kaiba's Blue eyes were my favorites dont Recall having Joey's Red Eyes Interms of "New" Slither is My Favorite I recently bought Obelisk is ok and slighty mythed there isnt a Winged Dragon of Ra Structure Deck
When I was younger I got the water deck, and a friend of mine got one as well and gave it to me, so I had two of the first edition neo Daedalus. Neither of us realize that it was a misprint because why would it be, so I had a good couple of years of playing this guy without knowing about his stupid summoning condition.
Where I lived a as a kid we played mostly casual except on tournament day, all these Structure decks are so nostalgic we used to play with them all, we only ever had that first version of neo Daedalus and thought it was unusually strong 😅
To be fair to Simorgh, it’s pretty clear why he work like that, in conjunction with the Harpy blowing up the opponent backrow it’s pretty easy to use his effect.
I actually had that warrior structure deck, and I did not use everything in the deck, but it had so many good warrior prints that I was able to make a very cohesive warrior deck in like 2007
The funny part ive played often Exod. It is easy to play with the Giant Rat that can special summon Criophinx. There are many funny cards like the Swords of Light or Gravity Bind that makes the burn mechanic works well. In additional with a trap card that can bring cards to the hands like Evacuation Device makes the effect from Criophinx even better.
ryu kokki was an amazing card back then just on it's own... a lot of common power cards at the time were warrior or spellcaster as I recall ;p ended up building my zombie stall deck off the base of pyramid turtle.spirit reaper, and ryu kokki, and creature swap(or enemy controller after that was banned).
13:00 I'm pretty sure it is supposed to encourage the opponent to set 1 or 2 magic/trap cards to avoid getting burned… Allowing you to pop them with Harpie's Hunting Ground's effect.
I owned the Daedalus, and Darkness Metal Dragon deck. Didn't know the boss monster of the Neo-Daedalus required the tribute of the other one, so I played the crap out of a Gravity Bind deck where I could attack, and others couldn't until it hit the field, wiped the board, and hand, and I'd eventually win while using my Terraforming, and Salvages, and whatnot to rebuild my board after the wipe. It was fun. The REDMD deck was just the continuation of my terrible dragon deck. I loved them. My friends hated them. Never did tournaments with them. Probably for the best.
Machine Revolt was my first actual structured deck with a strategy and although it wasn't competitive, it was a total nightmare on the playgrounds. Having an entire deck of monsters that could ALWAYS resolve their attacks before any spell/trap could stop it led to a lot of arguments.
Ahhh, my Favorite ygo era. The golden days of yugioh. Played those Decks alot in school. Was a lot of fun. The only card i never Played was the fire Boss Monster. Even simough did See some play every now and then. And i always did play 1 or 2 Genesis in my Zombies, The 3000 atk where needed sometimes.
Yeah I really loved Red Eyes Darkness Dragon as a kid. I had the first 3 or 4 that came out before I stopped collecting. Sadly I didn't know a lot of kids that were able to buy and play yugioh. Wouldn't be until Dragons Collide that I actually ever saw a real chance to use him. 2012 was a very interesting year and one of the last years I really was hardcore into yugioh.
Played a lot with these in one of the old games, YGO World Championship 2008 I believe... used almost none of the bosses in the structure deck vs structure deck mode
Currently have nearly all of these except for the Dragon's roar and Zombie madness but my friends and I still use em from time to time for some good ol' vibe yugioh duels
I remember having the fire structure deck. I mostly used Raging Flame Sprite, Solar Flare Dragon, and Ultimate Baseball Kid rather then the trash ass boss monster, simply because I had Gravity Bind and Level Limit Area B and I could sit on them while burning the opponent, which did win me a few games against my friend's dragon decks at the time since they had a lot of high level beatsticks.
I had the machine re-volt deck back in the day and by far the biggest problem I had with it was how often I would end up with dead hands full of monsters that needed to be tribute summoned. I also found Ancient Gear Golem to be a better boss monster than the dragon since that card had piercing damage built in. My friends each had a different structure deck and whenever we played each other, the moment I got that thing on the field it was more or less game over... assuming I could ever get it out in the first place
I think if Neo-Daedalus got rid of only your opponent’s hand, it would have been banned and maybe even stayed banned to this day. That’s the kind of effect you build a deck around and go to great lengths to pull off.
They really should redue the old structure decks to be modern strategies. I remember being so disappointed in the Blazing Destruction structure deck since i always wanted to build a true aggressive Fire Pyro deck that wasnt Volcanics.
when I was a kid, I used Red Eyes Darkness Dragon with Metamorphosis to turn it into Master of Oz.
Now that's a strategy. Should have a structure deck based on this combo

Did they...did they really give the exact same burn effect to 4 boss monsters back to back?
They really just wanted to see the world burn
@@teetheluchadorNice.
Same experience. When i was showing off my classmates how i got wave motion cannon on booster pack, someone stole it as well 😅
Neo Daedalus and infernal flame emperor are two different goat decks I’m running. Absolutely love them
Im interestes in coming back to yugi goat.. can neo daedalus be viable in goat format? Do u have a list?
@@thedancingvill1026 I got a list on my channel, but I wouldn’t say he’s like competitive.
The format I play most Super Conductor is actually one of the big monsters in our Dino decks. It's pretty alright
I swear I just watched this
It was momentarily made private.
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFireah tnx for the explanation I was confused why I had the notification twice
Yeah had to fix a tiny error lol
@@Dzeeff what did ya fix
@altoid3453 in the old version he said Exxod had 4000 atk and 0 def. Which was actually the reverse. So he fixed that part.
Ideas to improve/retrain each lacking card I see: Firstly 1:12
_Red-Eyes Tyrant Dragon_ (DARK)
Level 9

_Cannot be normal summoned/set. Must be special summoned by its own effect. You can tribute 2 or more face-up “Red-Eyes” cards you control (Quick Effect): Special summon this card from your hand or GY. If your opponent activates a Spell Card, you can activate 1 Spell/Trap from your hand or deck that mentions “Red-Eyes” in its name or effects.
I see, he cut out the issues with Simorgh cause he realized that it wasn’t just the turn player who took the damage during the end phase
It still says "each of their end phases" for me
Nah it's because he said Exxod had 4000 atk and 0 def. So he fixed that part.
Crazy
I got a misprinted Neo Daedalus in a trade, excitedly build a deck based around it, and was later informed that I couldn't summon Neo Daedalus
I just finished watching some of your old structure deck videos like two days ago, so this upload is extremely timely!
I remember when you made a series of videos on those old structure decks, it was how I got into watching your channel!
Didnt realize I was a lucky owner of the OG Neo-Daedelus. Glub glub, buddy.
i still have my entire zombie structure deck, deck was crazy with how much advantage it could get back in the day. ending a game with dark dust spriit was also super satisfying.
Yo fire! Another upload. Man pumping out that content. It’s so good. You have to upload it twice 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I will always love my old water structure deck, it felt amazing when you would summon neo daedalus and you already had no other cards in hand 😂
Always thought it was weird that Infernal Flame Emperor was just a flaming version of Thenien the Great Sphinx from the Pyramid of Light movie.
We need a classic format that is 2007 and before
I wish there was a structure deck championship tournament. Where u can only use structure decks only.
These decks are fun against other structure decks. I used to get two so when id see family or friends they had something ready to go
personally speaking back in the day, friends and i had some of these decks and found the Rock deck with Exxod to be one of the best. there was actually one rock monster in that deck that was really threatening, it had no attack points and had a multiplier with however many rock monsters you had in your grave yard to amp it up, making it pretty devestatingly powerful. the water deck with the neo deadalous came in second as being a pretty strong deck at the time too.
Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon is a solid meta deck in TCG Speed Duel.
Not bad!
9:10 I have a joint retrain of this and dark sage ready:
_Dark Magician, The Eradicator Sage_ (DARK)
Level 9
Spellcaster/Effect
_Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Each time a normal Spell/Trap card or effect is activated, apply 1 of the following effects:_
⚪️Inflict 1000 damage to your opponent immediately after it resolves.
⚪️Increase your LP and this card’s ATK/DEF by 1000 immediately after it resolves.
ATK/2800 DEF/3200
Did he just feel silly and create the literal best yugioh card of all time
@@Yukimiyer
You’d think this would see competitive play then?
Glad you are doing more of these type of videos again
I always loved the Dragon and Water deck. I still tinker with Water deck from time to time, even if you won't see them in competitive play. Neodaedalus just looks so cool.
Structure decks were so fun to get kickstarted with new players. I remember Dark world and The Master Hyperion deck my wife and I played so much
I still have my red eyes darkness dragon from that era.

_Gilford the Infernoble Knight of Legend_ (FIRE)

_This card that is face-up on the field or in the GY is also treated as LIGHT and EARTH attribute. Equip spells equipped to monsters you control can be treated as tributes for this card’s summon. You can tribute summon this card using 3 tributes, and if you do: Destroy all monsters, spells or traps your opponent controls. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can equip any number of your equip spells that are banished or in the GY to any monsters you control._

Ngl the Og 3/4 of Yami Yugi's Dark Magician, Pegasus's Relinquished, and Kaiba's Blue eyes were my favorites dont Recall having Joey's Red Eyes
Interms of "New" Slither is My Favorite I recently bought Obelisk is ok and slighty mythed there isnt a Winged Dragon of Ra Structure Deck
This isn't even an old structure deck issue.
This is just a structure deck issue. Who uses Cyberdark End Dragon???
I had all of these. This was my yugioh collection as a kid.
I actually had that warrior structure deck, and I did not use everything in the deck, but it had so many good warrior prints that I was able to make a very cohesive warrior deck in like 2007
The Ancient Gear SD was one I really started having fun with, but when Machina dropped in 2010, my whole life changed.
I still have my 1st edition dragons roar structure deck complete with box and inserts
The funny part ive played often Exod. It is easy to play with the Giant Rat that can special summon Criophinx. There are many funny cards like the Swords of Light or Gravity Bind that makes the burn mechanic works well. In additional with a trap card that can bring cards to the hands like Evacuation Device makes the effect from Criophinx even better.
ryu kokki was an amazing card back then just on it's own... a lot of common power cards at the time were warrior or spellcaster as I recall ;p
ended up building my zombie stall deck off the base of pyramid turtle.spirit reaper, and ryu kokki, and creature swap(or enemy controller after that was banned).
13:00 I'm pretty sure it is supposed to encourage the opponent to set 1 or 2 magic/trap cards to avoid getting burned… Allowing you to pop them with Harpie's Hunting Ground's effect.
The ocean deck was my first one. Led me to play water decks for years to come. Ice barrier, Gishki, Nekroz, mermail, and somehow Ghostrick
I thought exxod was so cool when i got it "this is like exodia!!!!"... how wrong a child i was
Machine Revolt was my first actual structured deck with a strategy and although it wasn't competitive, it was a total nightmare on the playgrounds. Having an entire deck of monsters that could ALWAYS resolve their attacks before any spell/trap could stop it led to a lot of arguments.
Years 2006 and 2007 structure decks.. I remember walking into GameStop like it was yesterday 😔. Where did the years go
I competitively use an upgraded exxod rock structure deck and crush master duel
Hey I'm a long time fan of that deck. Do you have a list/showcase?
To be fair to Exxod - You can get to him by summoning Criosphinx off of Giant Rat.
The red-eyes one was my favorite. Just the box alone took my breath away.
I remember having Simorgh’s deck as a kid, maybe even two copies. I’m glad I never played anyone at the at age 😆
Me and my two brothers had several of these and played them a lot. I remember the rock deck being super frustrating to play against!
Superconductor tyranno is still a powerhouse if built properly
I think if Neo-Daedalus got rid of only your opponent’s hand, it would have been banned and maybe even stayed banned to this day. That’s the kind of effect you build a deck around and go to great lengths to pull off.
They really should redue the old structure decks to be modern strategies. I remember being so disappointed in the Blazing Destruction structure deck since i always wanted to build a true aggressive Fire Pyro deck that wasnt Volcanics.
