    In reference to 2:45,
I think there are certain ceramic scissors that should be used to prevent any issues with sparking. This would be in case the anode and cathode make a circuit via the scissors snipping it.
Or if the battery is damaged, certain ceramic scissors wouldnt cause a spark that could ignite anything.

And I could not find the battery with appropriate connector so I removed the Board from battery and used a powerbank's battery, since I didn't knew how to connect as solder would not stick to it I poked a hole through both terminal strip and used thin wires to connect both the terminals to and then solder the tip of wires to the board. Was enough to recover data. Great to see this method work. 😄

I wasn’t aware it was possible for someone to go in and manually adjust the battery health capacity. Lots of refurbishers on eBay and Amazon (even Amazon themselves) like to advertise their refurbished phones have around 80-90% battery capacity, but if that can just be modified, then, at best, people could be sold a phone with a bad battery

i think it just clears the battery health, which needs to be calibrated again. the battery chip detects and then updates the actual health over time

i basically taught myself to swap the bms board when i was 12 or 13. i had a bunch of broken phones and no good phones, and i remember having a 5s with a swollen battery and a locked 5s. i was able to put the 5 battery in the 5s by swapping the board and taping it on. now it’s easy for me, so this is a definite option when it comes to battery replacements for me

They aren't soldered, they are spot welded.

Hi, love your work! So, I am sure you get this question alot, but I will ask anyway. Do you ever have apple repair sent to you from France? I have an ipad air2 2019, I bought in the US, and it's screen has lines. I dropped 6mths ago, so I guess that is why. It will open okay for 2mins, right when I think it is okay. Then it gets flickering lines, and shuts off the screen.
I am a English teacher here in France and I use it for work. I have not found work for 10mths, hard for teachers with no contract. Anyway, I am just beside myself trying to figure out how I can get it repaired. Can you advise me?

Apple says that the performance will go back once the battery is replaced, but will it still restore the performance if the job was not done by an Apple technician? the point is to not damage the board, not protect the original battery. the original battery is spot welded to the board. there are three ways to remove it: desolder it (bad idea since youre gonna need quite a bit of heat); twist and pull it out (equally bad idea, this might rip the pad off the board; only really works for removing the lead strip thingy off of large packs that uses cells like 18650 and NOT for removing from the board) and cutting the leads off, which is what he did here.

  • @bramvandenbroeck5060

That is actually a smart thing to do, but the iphones bms board will eventually go back to 100 percent over time, its capable of realizing that it has more capacity than before, i did this mod on several phones, but buy or have good cells in it, because if you buy a chinese battery that has less capacity than the original iphone battery, your phone might shut off at a given percentage (lets say 32 and than your phone shuts down suddenly), the percentage in the iphone will rise once a week in health, i got an iphone with 76 going all the way up to 97, which is awesome :) great video man! Absolutely worth it. Some of the things i don't trust on replacement batteries are their fake cut down bms lacking a lot of protections. If they cut down to much and emulate fake parameters for the phone it can explode. Like suppose the battery is over heating but the bms has no temparature sensor so it's just sending a false reading and then kaboom .
