  • Review of the excellent BDI Avion 8937 AV cabinet which is available from Amazon UK: amzn.to/2ibl4oM and USA: amzn.to/2ibq1OD but if you’re in the UK I’d actually recommend getting it from www.Nintronics.co.uk who happened, at the time of review, to be the cheapest and they offered excellent pre-sales service taking the time to answer of lot of questions from someone who hadn’t even commited to buying anything from them.

Lol. Same as the amazon review. I bought mine used, the cabinet, and it didn’t come with the speaker grill. And didn’t feel like calling them back to ask after getting it for $250 in perfect condition. (Although I almost died hauling it across Los Angeles by myself. Anyway. How does the grill snap in? I was going to just make one but curious how they do it. BDI is MIA via their support email. Can’t buy parts.
I installed a solid back door on mine across the entire back. I have backlighting on the wall so it makes it so you can see everything inside the cabinet with no back. And to do thermal management. I have a router firewall, 24 port poe switch, fiber modem, large ups, a qnap server, AVR, Bluray, AppleTV, alarm system controller, and a cable box inside. Natural convention wasn’t gonna cut it. So added two exhaust 120mm Fans, one fan blowing in from the bottom, and three internal circulating. Including a blower fan on top of the onkyo AVR that sucks air from between shelves and blows straight back. (Usb powered from the AVR usb that turns off with it) HomeKit temp monitor inside cabinet. Keeps it 5 degrees above ambient. So 78-80F. Turning off the fans I get up to 100F.

Hi Mark, I know this is discontinued but there is one for sale near my home new in box still for $400. Do you think this is a fair price to buy it or remember what you paid? Thank you sir.

Hello, depends on the condition, new it was way more than that and I've been very happy with it. If it's in good condition I think $400 is a brilliant price for it.

Mark, can you Please help me out. I’m thinking about buying this stand after watching your video and wanted to ask you a few questions about it if you don’t mind. I just bought a 65 inch 8K TV and need a strong stand since it weighs about 75 pounds. Does it have the back part that you can put the TV on that swivels or do I have to put it on the table itself? I was going to buy the 3 in 1 stand, but I love the way this looks. I realize it’s not cheap by any means, but Oak is not cheap anyway. I appreciate your reply and many blessings to you and loved ones. Semper Fidelis, Captain T, U.S.M.C.

Mark Draper Thank you so much for the quick reply and answers. I couldn’t tell if the TV ONLY sat on the stand itself or was there a stand for it to be elevated like those 3 in 1 stands??? Thanks again for your help brother. Many blessings from Vegas...

You can’t put the tv taller then on the table itself right?

Oh it will fit fine on the stand. Very solid. I have a 65’’ LG OLED C9 on it. I actually got a stand for it as well and was going to put it behind the cabinet but because the cabinet has such a great depth, it makes the TV too far and looks odd. It would be fine on a wall but yeah. Mine is angled in a corner. Also if you have a older version of this stand, they used to use three metal leg supports. Then they changed to using two with support bars across. This is a better config because it allows you to put a tv stand base under the center. BDI also sells a stand for this cabinet but it’s horribly expensive.

How are you getting on with this today? Is there a wall mount equivalent of this?

Still have it, still love it, still recommend it 👍
You'd have to check the manufacturers website to see the current range.

Your TV stand is nicer and bigger than your TV and Speakers.
