      also keep in mind many cakes, cookies and peanut butter/ almond butters - have or are created with rancid ultra processed seed (vegetable) oils. These are highly oxidative and generally not fit for consumption and often are included in "healthy" food.
      The Food & Death Administration has much to answer for!
      Ultra processed foods are poison and cancer.
      Down with the sickness!
      The disease industrial complex does not want anyone cured or healthy. They want maximum profits, no matter the cost to your health.

    Just stop eating sugar! It really doesn't take long to lose the taste for it. I used the carnivore diet to help break my sugar addiction because you can eat as much as you like and I like meat. Have done so well on it, I am sticking with it. Have no inkling now for sweet anything, nor alcohol, and am beginning to lose weight even when eating until I'm full. I don't feel hungry at all some days so I might only have one meal at night. Am 72, female and in good health. Hope this helps someone out there. 😊

      What a load of ignorant garbage. Diets fail because people like you have no discipline and view eating as a form of entertainment or something to make you feel good. Eating has one purpose, to nourish your body and that is how it should be viewed. The reason you love certain things and don't want to give them up is because you are addicted to them. "Offering an alternative way to eat something is a better solution"??? Really? Cyanide is toxic to humans, would you consume it if someone gave you an "alternate" way to consume it?

    Thanks Dr. Gupta for your advice that humanizes our foods and diet. All you said is true, pleasure of life matters, and that's what most dietitians forget. Instead of asking people to Do this and Don't do that, it is more practical to guide people to do it in a safer way. I want to add two points; one is the two reasons that we crave sweet foods; craving is rooted in the food we ate also the psychological sentiment we experienced hours or a day before the craving. Our biological being has strong memory and does not forget. It also remembers the childhood habits. The craving can be identified by writing down our daily activity and diet and the sentiment we experience.
    The second is drinking a liquid and consuming sweet foods together, which increases the absorption of sugar. From the other side drinking a half glass of cold water every 30 minutes slows down the digestion and the absorption while a cup of hot tea does the opposite. The best way to benefit from water is to start the say with drinking a few glasses of warm water and stay away from liquid for few hours depends on our activity, what we are looking for, the temperature and type of environment. Drinking water in this way provides the body the ability to manage the metabolism throughout the day. Water should not be consumed as the side dish, it is a perfect meal by its own law. There is more to say but I close my comment here.

    A good doctor discourages patients from eating sugar which is a junk food that nobody needs. A good doctor explains to patients that a small amount of sugary snack is never enough and even a small amount of sugar encourages cravings. Sugar is never healthy and there are cardiologists who say that sugar is the cause of CVD and studies have shown that sugar feeds cancer cells. Sugary snacks are easy to avoid once people are encouraged to eat filling healthy foods such as animal protein and eggs. Sweet snacks should be eaten as a treat only for special occasions and then only if they don't start a sugar craving. Eating sugar with fat and protein doesn't stop it circulating around the body and doing harm.

    • @AWAW-z8r
      @AWAW-z8r หลายเดือนก่อน

      The current science says that as long as you avoid insulin spikes, sugar intake is not harming your body. "Good Doctor' is a very subjective term. We had 'good doctors' pre-1950s, before we had an obesity epidemic and all of the other metabolic epidemics. And they didn't forbid sugar intake. This was before HFC and all of the artificial sweeteners. They just had good old fashioned honey and cane sugar. This was before ultra-processing of all of these foods. This was before the low-fat craze. This was when P.E. and physical activity was the norm for most people, before the television and remote controls had such a chunk of our lives. We have to stop a moment and think logically and reasonably about these things. I'm not telling you to eat sugar but just because you have found avoiding sugar easy with protein and eggs, doesn't mean that's the case for everyone else. This approach of controlling blood sugar works for some people. Moderation works for some people.

      @@aliciar8978 That's a very naive and quite frankly lazy way to look at it. None of us were born with a sugar addiction, it is something we developed, and as such can be overcome, carnivore is one of the best treatments for sugar addiction. All addictions can be treated and a good doctor would work until the correct one is found.

    Curious: I understand that protein and fiber can slow the absorption of sugar. An insulin spike is different from constantly elevated insulin levels. Wouldn't it be better to have the sugar insulin spike than to prolong the absorption of sugar, which can cause insulin resistance? Also insulin causes fat storage, wouldn't it be better to eliminate the sugar insulin quickly so less fat is stored? 🤔

    I'm 55, eat once a day (around 5 p.m.,) and walk 7 km round trip to work and home. 30 minutes before eating I drink apple cider vinegar in water. I haven't been sick in decades, no inflammation, and I have a weakness for sugar.

    The glucose goddess said eat vegetables high in fiber first, then , fat, protein, then sweet or carbs after. But i can't do that. I feel weird eating vegetables first all the time when my body crave steak first, or cake first because i do not like vegetables. But if i have some nuts or steak first, then cake, i can do that because i like nuts and meat.

After about 6 months on carnivore I lost my cravings for sugar, now after a few years, just thinking about sugar makes me feel ill. I cannot walk down a sweets isle in a store without feeling uncomfortable in my stomach.
