It lets you know if you are dealing with a grown man or "grown boy" I am so glad I have deactivated my Facebook account and I don't miss it, I am not going back on it, You definitely will have peace of mind.

My husband was doing this . When I found out and told him I don't like it and to stop doing it because he's a married man, He got defensive saying she's a friend from highschool and he don't see what the "big deal is". I told him not only is it disrespectful but it's also that's embarrassing for me as a woman to have my husband giving other women attention in that way.
I told him I will not put up with it and don't do it again.
I feel you. It depends on the nature of the photo. My husband has facebook and has checked liked on many of female photos who are also my facebook friends. We know most of these women personally through our professions and church. These photos my husband checks "likes" are no where near dressing provacative or anything inappropriate. My husband and I discussed this. He said he checked "like" is because of the joy of the Lord she is expressing. And many of these women we both know are over comers of tribulations they have been through. And he is happy to see they are doing better with their lives. It is rare when he checks "like" on female photos. I'm grateful my husband is respectful towards me. The same is with me. I NEVER check "like" on a males photo. When I do it is family members. Other men I rarely check "like" on a man's photo is when he is posing with his wife, girlfriend, family or other people and when they have made an accomplishment in their lives. Whenever my husband puts a "thumbs up " emoji is for an encouragement because the woman has overcame an obstacle in something.
Dating in this society is absolutely draining. Makes me want to stay single forever

I just broke up with someone because of this. We went on a 5 day vacation and he posted all these pics and videos of himself that I took of him and not one of me and him. I brought it up to him and he said he want to keep his life private, meanwhile he posted 10 videos of our trip with none of me in it. When I brought it up he said he didn’t want to talk about it again. I brought it up again and he got defensive and I told him I know why he was doing it because he wants to be portrayed as single online and I wasn’t putting up with it. He always was adding someone new, liking pics and always active online. We met on instagram so why would it be any different. I’m glad I walked away! I won’t be hidden.
This happens to me. Almost to the T! It's so so hurtful. He says he wants his life private. But posts all the pics and videos that I take of him! He blocked me on fb. Then unblocked me. Hearting other girls pics but not mine. Then I asked him nicely who someone was and why he was putting hearts on her pics and he told me sorry it made you feel like there's something going on. There's not. But that's the thing. I didn't think that until he said it! And my red flag radar is going off like crazy. :/

Tried to make me think I was insecure cuz he wanted to continue to like female photos, and that’s just the beginning. But glad to say I woke up and moved on. I knew I wasn’t crazy. I've found this after telling my boyfriend I'm not comfortable with him following half naked IG women. I work as a model, and I've been that woman having her photos liked/commented on by taken men. It doesn't feel good for any of the women involved! Luckily my boyfriend immediately unfollowed these accounts - so please believe there are good men out there. Having standards does not make you 'insecure', it means you love yourself and know you deserve the best.

I'm not the type to look into my mans phone. But the day I suspected something going on with my (now ex) husband so much was happening on social media and in text messages. He had secret apps etc but the issue was he was following men. I thought it was suspect to follow all these men working out I noticed the gym trainers were all gay, and he didnt even work out. Needless to say he was on the down low and it was an awful experience. Once I found out things got crazy, as I had discovered his secret and he never intended for that to happen. It's so sad because I recently seen him flirting with more woman online and they have no idea that he is a minister, divorced, or gay. I was a virgin when I married him. I just Thank The Most high for protection. Be careful and trust your intuition and the Holy Spirit.

Typically men go back to the same place they met you. I've had a dude I dated lie he had social media and found his profile. Of course other red flags, but I cut it short. He barely made 2months in my life.
Me too. I just caught one in a lie that I found on social media. We weren't friends but I searched him anyway. The lie was small, but I was like nah...I'ma go ahead and terminate this lil relationship.
Y'all did right by leaving, because if lies about that, what else is he lying about. Think about it, for everyone else that will read this and think that it is petty.
A friend of mine was always complaining that her husband wouldn't check that he was in a relationship on Facebook. She was irritated but at the same time just also defending him to the point she got mad at me. I was trying to explain to her that people you follow on social media, especially Facebook where it's more so people you know represent your Social Circle. So when you refuse to put you're in a relationship or post pictures with your partner, it represents you being reluctant to tell the people in your Social Circle and pretty much most of the people you know about your spouse. That's not normal to feel the need to hide someone you're supposed to be proud of from the world

I’ve always stressed this & everyone has always tried to tell me I’m insecure or childish. But someone being honest about just not being ready is what I’d respect. Playing it off as if the women is insecure or embarrassing herself says a lot about you as a person because a like/ repost should never be that serious. Older men especially should not be that consumed into social media in a negative/disrespectful manner.

I just caught my boyfriend liking 3 women's Facebook photos from the first months of our relationship and til now. He denied and lied at first about not knowing what he did. Then I'd show the screenshot. Then he downplayed it and said that he "knows" them and that those are just pictures 😣 after the arguments, he apologized. Then he said I'm crazy for digging through his past, even though the information I found was public. Sadly we live together and I am trying to leave although name is on lease and I'm trying to get out of the lease. He also called me out of my name 3 weeks ago. I'm just done with him...sad but it'll be better not living with him and always being under stress in the relationship.

It's extremely toxic & causes too many problems. Plus it's a time waster. I used to use it for my esthetician business but found myself going back to gossip pages. & just scrolling to kill time. Now I use my car as advertising & just word of mouth. The old fashioned way

Thank God someone like Tony broke this down for us because I have felt this way about men and social media for a long time and everybody wanted to make me feel bad about it and I always thought to myself if he’s liking her pictures you could always open up a door to something else finally someone openly speaks the truth.

Social media should be something that you use to keep in contact with family and close friends. It's not for your contact with the world. We are not to be of this world. How do I know we don't need social media? Because there was a point in time when we didn't even have it and relationships actually could last. Think about it...your grandmother did not have social media and she still had struggles with her own husband, so don't you think social media has amplified the relational struggles we have today?
