    I like both the plane and Denise! Thanks for the video, and thanks for not putting stupid music in the background. It's nice hearing the motors and props.... and ugh, Denise too!

    "Dogs will be jealous". God, I love the tonality of this video. You can feel the enthusiasm but also with a hint of "hey, this is a hobby, let's not be dead serious about anything". Good stuff!

    Fighter variant of Mosquitoes were fitted with four 20 mm (0.79 in) Hispano cannon in the fuselage belly and four .303 (7.7 mm) Browning machine guns mounted in the nose. What a lovely aircraft design for it's time and circumstance.

    the parkzone micro is a cute little thang, but those fly like tiny, light toy planes. This baby flies like a BIG FIGHTER, fast and agile, but they fly completely differently because they have weight- which I absoluely LOVE! It's more like flying a real fighter!

  • @Killerplanes
    @Killerplanes  12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I happen to LOOOOVE this plane- always have. When they came out with it we got it in stock as fast as I could! We still have a few if you're interested!

    Your right it is tail heavy can see it good when you start to climb like its dragging tail. Could cause a stall as well

    it comes with a Transmitter, and it's my favorite inexpensive Transmitter, with an "expo" knob right on the front, for limiting the sensitivity of the sticks, and it works REALLY well!

  • @Killerplanes
    @Killerplanes  13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @thx1103n we're doing more flight test and we'll figure out the CG. I think the biggest thing is the props, which flex. We're testing other props, too. We should end up with a 3000mAh 4 cell or 4000mAh 3 cell for 10 min flight times- also, CHECK PART 2- the crashproofing design REALLY works on this baby!!!

  • @Killerplanes
    @Killerplanes  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I found that out after we made the video- good time to learn stuff! I LOVE flying this baby, by the way. It feels more like a real plane than a toy, and that's the way I like 'em.

    Having flying a lot of muti-motor airplanes in the past few years like B-17, B-25, P-38, A-10, F4, C47, f-14 among others your right about them being a bit heavier. My landings on my first few flights tended to be like yours. Gotta carry some speed into the landing. It nice to see you enjoy it so much.

  • @Killerplanes
    @Killerplanes  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @thx1103n- still trying to figure the tail heavy out, since the CF behind the wing only weighs 30g on a 1900g plane. It's more like my insistence on removing nose weight and replacing it with mo' battery- this plane has a BIG weight, only 1/4" back from the tip- you have to REALLY "battery up" to counter it, and I didn't put in the bigger battery yet (start small, go bigger) Also, they have the CG wrong- the tail drags when it's supposed to be right. I didn't fly the battery out- we use a timer

    It's definitely not too light- it turned out that the factory setting for the CG is wrong, and needs to be moved forward (meaning, more weight in the nose) When we corrected that and added the upgrade props, WHOA BABY! You can see it rocketing around in our newer Mosquito video here on youtube.

    We ship to the UK- it's about $90 USD for this plane. We highly recommend Crashproofing- it works! I still have my Mosquito after doing some REALLY stupid things with it- several crashes, some of them bad, one REALLY bad- and barely any damage to the plane! Still looks great, flies great and works great!

  • @davesmith7993
    @davesmith7993 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Mosquito came in many variants, over 40 during the course of WW2...this one looks a bit like the fighter/night fighter armament with 4 machine guns in the nose and 4 - 20mm. cannons below them which they used to take out fighters, bombers and even V-1 flying bombs. It could also fly fast and low enabling it to carry a 4,000 lb. bomb load to Berlin at over 400 mph with no need of escorts. In the ground/marine attack variant it even had a rapid fire, armor piercing 6 pound field gun and 8 - 60lb rockets, giving it the equivalent fire power of a broadside from a light to medium cruiser, which they routinely used to take out V-1 launch sites, U-boats as well as surface vessels in defended harbors because of their incredible speed and maneuverability at low altitude. At high altitude, British and American forces used them for photo-recognizance because they were deemed to be the best platform by both. Now you may have an idea of why this amazing aircraft was known as 'The Wooden Wonder".

    A really great model. A must for any collection. These were selling in the UK for around $300 last year. Shame about the tail heavy problem. Could it be the tail plane was set at the wrong angle?
    One little point that scale modellers might like to note. The production aircraft never had counter rotating engines. From the front end both were counter-clockwise. Check out the film 633 Squadron. Same for all the Merlin engined Lancasters, Spitfires and Hurricanes.

    • @Killerplanes
      @Killerplanes  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we LOVE this plane! We only have a few left, and after that- it's history- I'm keeping the last one as an extra for myself! They produced it with counter rotating props, so that's how we left it

  • @mountaintruth1
    @mountaintruth1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    That is pretty much what I said, tail heavy and you added cells. I havent had an electric yet that had proper wing loading, try adding 6oz. at CG and see if it doesnt just fall out of the sky. APC type props are much stiffer and you wont hear anymore tip wash and youll have better top end.
    Good flying to you sir.

      Philip Degnen That’s time travel humor. It’s a little dense, I know.

      Adam- I know what you mean! I have mine, and I’m happy about that. Freewing made one for a couple of years, but it wasn’t as scale as this one. HC Hobby unfortunately went out of business about a year after they made this plane. Hobby King bought the moulds, but they don’t make it anymore either. BUMMER!

      Me too- I can't believe they stopped making this one!! GORGEOUS model! I did up the last one we had with working flaps and working bomb bay doors- it holds 2 eggs, which makes for a nice bombing run!
