So much work goes into such an amazing aircraft, so sorry you have to endure the crash. So much talent in making these planes, thank you for sharing.
"R/C airplane attacked by clickbait!"
having fun? great you found my channel greenseaships!
Thanks for watching
So, clickbait took the airplane down did it?
I like the fact that our country is airforce is recreated at your RC aerodrome.

The Europeans are great builders and pilots!
Dunno if anyone gives a damn but if you're stoned like me atm then you can stream all the latest movies on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last couple of days :)
@Zayden Colt Yup, been watching on instaflixxer for years myself :)
Thank you for your comment and watching my videos.
Your assumption is not fully correc: I is the editou (me) showing what he wants you to see.
Happy New Year, Fred
A bird strike will usually include a flurry of feathers from the subject bird. But who knows? the perspective made it look like the birds were behind the aircraft. That or they were large birds given the scale of the model.
The birds had machine guns and shot that plane down. My brother died the exact same way.
I am happy you took your time to see my video!
Greetings Fred
Awww... you flinched when the Camel crashed!

Thanks for watching my video(s)!
Germany is friendly to RC modellers as long as they are within the very strict Noise levels.
For airshows exemption approval can be obtained.
Here in Ireland it is good, but only at at least a mile from the nearest houses to avoid
complications.
Why not begin again with a Foamy - electric powered planes from 1 meter to 2.5 meter wingspan?
regards Fred
Thank You for watching ScaleJet TH-cam channel!

Love seeing the Aussie Boomerang :) awesome little plane
Had a Aus Boomerang as a trainer, switched to a Phoenix Classic when it finally became beyond repair and that's the best thing I ever did. The boomerang had a few points in it's favour, mostly the high lift wing, the Phoenix Classic flew great as a trainer but capable of a lot more and didn't tend to want to bounce so much when landing. Been flying for 15 years or so and planning on getting another Phoenix Classic one day. My favourite plane during learning was my LA Racer tail dragger, it did everything well and I much prefer a tail dragger to those stupid tricycle landing gear setups where the front leg is forever getting bent back and you immediately destroy yet another expensive prop. Tail dragger pilots break props often too, not so often with me though. I hold full up elevator while I apply power which holds the tail down under power and start easing off as it gets speed up then just the slightest as it reaches takeoff speed to none and let it float up. I've seen so many tail dragger pilots give them throttle and a tiny rock or grass root slightly catches a wheel and it's immediate nose over and busted prop. It's very effective to hold full up elevator and with the direct blast from the prop under power it almost completely stops that happening. You do have to be extra ready if you've got a strong headwind though or it can lift before you're ready and almost immediately do a backflip.
Thanks for watching and the comment.
Hoping to see you again watching another of the ScaleJetFred videos?
Regards, Fred
Hi Jono,
It is a Piper Super Cub model built from a comercial kit, all wood.
This was about Year 1998 and I can not remember who the supplier of the kit was.
Greetings Fred
Love those Boomerangs!! We actually have a full sized version based not far from my home!
Thank You for watching Ari!
You can get a kit of this from Michael Brauer.
I send you his contact info later

Interesting observation, you did watch this a number of times!
This happened 2001 and at this time nothing can be ruled out.

I like that twin engine Bronco. Never seen one...
Clearly NOT a bird strike, unless those birds are the size of eagles. Slow motion also makes it painfully obvious that the birds are flying BEHIND the model which si flying away from the camera not towards, so a bird strike is not an possaiblity here.
Hi Rusty,
Thank you for your nice comment.
I begun recording Super 8 movie film 1964 and progressed to HD Video.
This bird strike recording was made with a Sony DV camera, shoulder supported for following flying models relatively shake free.
Regards Fred
there was a PBY-5 catalina in one of those planes, It's the float plane, My uncle flew in one.
Hallo Joseph,
Thank you for your comment and observation
Happy weekend

The long body blue airplane was a long range patrol plane called a Neptune operated by the U S Navy.
Thanks for the information Micheal! Ad the visit to ScaleJetFred with 150 videos to select from.

No click bait here, but for me I don’t see a bird strike, considering the size of the model Bronco, those birds would be massive! They are flapping quite fast which would suggest smallish birds, perhaps telephoto lens made them look closer to the Bronco than they actually were.

You are correct McCann.
They are older videos, but I selected for this one only the unfortunate or silly mistakes leading to crashes..
Overall flying even in the 80's was of high quality.
Even at the TOC in Las Vegas I recorded every two years crashes. And there the best 20 pilots of the World competed.
Thanks for watching and sending your comments.
Fred
What makes some of the worst modelers build so large models? Dangerous place to be.
Congratulations to the pilot with Airbus A340, great landing.
Hallo Pat!
This has been a problem. You correctly spotted the strut problem.
Actually, this was properly fastened.I and others checked id because the same builder/pilot had a similar crach 12 monts earlier with the same model built from the same kit.
Having investigated we found that the un-experienced builder followed the instruction correctly, but there was a flaw in the ancher point of the struts in both wings! Balsa , not ply or hardwood will not stand up to the flight!
Hi built a larger one using a different supplier, but to date he is affright to put it to the air!!!
How come so many wrecks why are the planes falling apart in the sky I've been flying RC planes my whole life
This is a hobby you don't take up unless you can afford the inevitable repairs and replacements, on top of cost of participating.
Doh...sorry for your accident...beautiful model.
Very good cameraman.
I just don’t get why some people can’t understand why their models usually end up in pieces because of some of these runway surfaces. Whether it’s long grass or bumpy as hell, it’s not to difficult to understand why they are nosing over and tearing landing gear all to hell. You would think that with some of these large flying fields and clubs they would have a better surface prepared. Doesn’t seem to be too difficult to at least roll it with a heavy water or sand filled drum roller like they use for laying sod, or even small steamroller or ride on compactor. I would think that would make a huge difference and be quite easy. Cutting the grass to a more appropriate length I would think would help too. When the grass is more than twice as long as your tires are tall why would you be surprised when something like this happens? And yes I do fly so I don’t doubt the skills that most of these pilots actually have, more just common sense I would think. And bird strike?? More like sheep strike lol.
Yes Dustin!

Not too many crashes mixed in.
1. Most crashes are pure pilot error.
2. Usually, it's using the ailerons instead of rudder.
3. Elliptical wings, like a Spitfire, are extremely treacherous when scaled down.
4. That last plane was improperly balanced and structurally weak. That guy probably would not have been invited to fly at our field a second time without being retrained from scratch.
Hi Pete! since I don't know anything about the past performance of this Builder/Pilot I can not disagree with you!
Thanks for watching and greetings, Fred
Was this all at one gathering? Anyone fly that didn't crash?
Ok seriously that grass strip is not RC friendly and unless my eyes were deceiving me some of the planes encountered downdrafts. But I'm glad most were not too serious.
Thank You for visiting my channel Collaterralcoffee.
Most viewers agree with you. Greetings from Dublin Ireland
the OV was known as the widow maker in nam . The model portrade that action fairly close . many pilots lost their live s in these . The problem was the engines .

It's a pity to see such beautiful models come to grief. Some at the beginning maybe due to a cross wind and rough landing ground ?
You assumed correct welshpete. Thank you for watching and the message
I agree with your comment J.E. Narcizo!

Hallo Dennis,
The plane was lost because one motor stopped after the incedent.
Luckily, no bird came to harm as all cintinued flying.

Most of these crashes are the typical roll to the left called torque rolling, this can be corrected by mounting the engine slightly down and to the right to compensate for the problem. Clearly the guys building these planes are not compensating for this in their build. It also appears they are not giving the plane enough power at the beginning causing a tip stall at the end of the torque roll. By changing your settings on your transmitter you can have it set up to compensate by simply flicking a switch an the mix for the airelons should help.
YES Joan!

HiAllen,
Unfortunately the pilot did not want the wreckage videoed, so there is no definite proof either way.
However, you are not alone with your assessment
Thank you for watching, regards Fred
The Bronco must have been several hundred feets away, if not; those sparrows had to be giant birds. Easy to be fooled by a telezoom shot.
Thank you for sending your comment.
I also sometimes think the same.
Greetings Fred
May be you are correct. The pilot packed the bits of his plane away. I would have liked to see if some evidence was left of a possible Bird Strike...

We had a somewhat similar problem as you.
But of cause the German Pilots flying these planes ...
Greetings and keep your head up,

You hear bird strikes even if they touch the prop. So I doubt it had anything to do with the birds. Looks like it lost power in one engine and it tip stalled on the banked side.
I can so empathise with some of those accidents. :-)
Hi eclipser2004, thanks for watching and commenting on one of

I never found out Drrck!
However, I did not see a newsflash about the crash
grretings and thanks for watching
There's a word some of these guys need to hear, it's called FLARE. That one warbird landing @ 4:45 was beautiful, most of the rest, not so much. Most of them go well beyond hemorrhoid checkers (as my full scale instructor used to call them) into full blown pancake type crashes. And opposite aileron when you are full stalled at landing is not going to roll you the way you want to go, especially when the left tip is draggin' the weeds. Just sayin'.
Didn't look like he was hit, but you can see one bird fold wings for a bit longer than usual in an apparent avoidance maneuver. The outcome, though, looked like there was contact, unless the pilot just let it spook the hell out of him and lost concentration and put in something stupid for control inputs and froze. Shame, beautiful aircraft, the consoles were amazing. Almost always happens sooner or later, though. At least he got it on video, some consolation, I expect, but not much. These hobbyists know, just like all the rest of them, that their pride and joy has a limited time here on Earth.

10:17. It looks like the guy had the controls reversed. I did that on my first flight on my P-51D Mustang. But I manage to land it with reverse controls.
What the hell kind of grass do you guys have on your field? Velcro!!!
No, the Bronco was lost after the engine made coontact with the Bird stopped.
However, none of the birds seemt to suffer.

You could be correct, but...

Hi A Woerner,
Agreed that it is not clear.
However, the plane suddenly crashed 10 -15 seconds after this scene was taken.
The reason for the sudden loss of control could not be established.
The video clip was not seen at the time by the pilot or organizer.

No, it wasn't a bird strike. If you think it was then the birds must have a 3 feet wingspan. Clear to see the birds are way behind the plane.

If you are too slow to react to your airplane getting out of control, then you are flying above your ability level, or not flying enough to keep in practice. As long as no people are injured, this is not a problem. Quite a bunch of rc pilots never focus adequately on correct adjustment and functioning of model airplane control systems, on understanding basic aerodynamics, nor learning to effectively program their transmitters. Sometimes enough fun can still be had by occasional fleeting moments of being airborne.......and fellowship with others.
15:10 Don't you hate it when your plane gives itself a high-five? :) Nice video there mate!
Hi TRAXXA,
You never know!
Do you have Traxxas cars as I do>????
Regards Fred
To me it appeared as the Aircraft was not hit as you can see the Birds pass in the foreground as the air craft was in the back ground. No contact
Is there a trick to flying these? Because when I flew my first RC plane it was the beginner, and I stalled the engine and 3 inches off the ground I saved it and then it rolled over and kamikaze attacked the ground.
Moral of the story flying from grassy fields bordered by wired fences is too much fun?
You are correct! I asked the same question all the time!
At the world championship in Interlaken, Switzerland, (2000) the top pilot raced towards the judges and hit thh chairs on one landing.
He still won!!!
