    Very nice ride and lot's of good looking bikes. My mom and dad lived in Arcata from '89-'99. I liked to come up and visit them. Today I rode 300 miles on my Ducati Scrambler. San Pedro, up to 33 and then to Frazier Park to camp at Hungry Valley. Bad idea...completely full. Now I am back in Pedro.

    • @NorthboundMotorcycleADV
      @NorthboundMotorcycleADV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Arcata is a great little town! There is so many cool looking vintage motorcycles there for the ride, we had a really great time. That’s too bad you couldn’t stay at hungry Valley. I guess it’s that time of year when we got a check ahead hey.
      Thanks for watching 🍻😎

    I'm going to make a trip with my wife on a rented R E Himalayan and I would want to know what is it like riding with passenger, is it confortable for the passenger? Sorry if my English is not so good, I'm from Spain
    I liked the video

    • @NorthboundMotorcycleADV
      @NorthboundMotorcycleADV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and I’m glad you liked the video,
      To answer your question, my daughter and I ride 2up all the time with no problems. Has been very comfortable for me but you will definitely feel a huge difference with the added weight of the second person. My daughter has never complained about it being uncomfortable as a passenger and has a really has a good time every time we go out. Perfect for buzzing around town sightseeing or short day trips.
      Thanks again for watching! 🍻😎

    Great video. Couple of questions from one Himi owner to another. I’ve been riding mine for about a year now and love it, but it’s my first bike and there’s a few things I’m unsure of. Number one, especially with this bike, I’m wondering at what speed your comfortable touring on this bike? What’s the max speed you’re willing to go for extended periods of time? Second would be what has been your vibration experience so far? Never have ridden a motorcycle before I don’t know what amount of vibration would be considered normal. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    • @NorthboundMotorcycleADV
      @NorthboundMotorcycleADV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and I’m glad you liked the video!
      This is my first motorcycle as well so I will do my best to answer your questions.
      I have put just over 17,000 miles now with about 70% of that has been on pavement (mostly up and down Highway 101) so my “comfortable speed” for touring is honestly any road with a speed limit of 55mph. Backroads and two lane state highways are the way to go.
      The “Max speed” I’m willing to go for extended periods of time would 65mph with an occasional 70mph if the conditions are right (downhill with the wind at your back lol) The Himalayan will do 65-70 all day long.
      I NEVER TAKE IT ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS, it just doesn’t belong 😝
      As for the vibration, the only thing I have noticed (and it’s driving me crazy) is a rattle that is coming from the instrument panel. I watched a video from Martin @WeeJaunt on taking it apart and I plan on finding the source.
      I would pose these questions on fb group forums and see what kind of response you get.
      Here is a link to a great one that I belong to, super friendly folks, this is my goto spot for questions and answers 😎
      Hope that helps, and thanks again for watching!
      By the way, how many miles have you put on your Himalayan? Do you take it camping?

      @@NorthboundMotorcycleADV Thank you so much for the insight and answers! Extremely helpful! You seem to be riding yours with the same mind set as me, keep it around 55-60 and always hit ‘Avoid Highways’ on the GPS.
      I’ve put just over 8,000 miles on mine, also about 80-85% pavement. I’ve heard other people say it can do 65 all day but was still just afraid I was destroying the engine 😭
      As for the vibration/noise I also had issues with the instrument cluster. I removed it, opened it and removed all the broken plastic pieces and air dusted all the white powder out, now it only emits a tolerable amount of noise, I plan on opening it back up soon and putting in rubber to further stop noise. I also removed the wind screen and am planning on replacing it with the short one from Hitchcocks because there was a decent amount of noise coming from that too, as well as the head light which I also replaced.
      As for camping I’ve taken it once on an overnighter, I have the Tusk Roll Top saddle bags and they hold plenty. Also took it on a 6 day road trip through the Grand Canyon, Zion and Death Valley and it honestly performed masterfully, besides the few time I was going up hill against the wind, I was pinned struggling to do 45.
