Always enjoy seeing the Redwoods. Yep. You are not the only one who has forgotten to fasten your helmet. I used to fly an open air ultralight aircraft. I forgot to put on my seat belt/shoulder harness one flight. I could look down all around the seat that I'm setting on and see the ground way down below. As soon as I discovered the fact, I immediately placed the harness on with much embarrassment. Have forgot to fasten the helmet while on the motorcycle as well. Yep you fit right in brother.
It happens to the best of us! 😅 I’m glad you enjoyed the ride through the redwoods, now that it’s winter time I’ll be doing a lot more riding through the redwoods in the area. I have a request from another viewer to check out an area of the redwoods in southern Humboldt, soon as I get a break in the weather I’ll be heading that way so standby 😎🍻
Thanks for the trip, I am gonna have to hit Madrones in 2027 when I do my retirement tour on the bike. Good riding, good food and good beer are the way to use a good day.......👍👍
Fantastic! Next time I’m in, I will tell them you’re coming! 😎🍻 “Good riding, good food, and good beer…..” it’s a way of life 😎🍺 Always good to hear from ya my friend, see you in 2027!
Thanks again for what you do! Another amazing series. It was tough, but I waited to watch until you posted all the videos... They're just great to watch all in one go on a lazy afternoon. Well worth the wait! I'm also falling in love with the area you call home. I saw my first redwoods this last September in Crescent City, California. It was mind-blowing. Everything about NorCal seems magical to me. I'm itching to return, as I'm planning to hike the Lost Coast Trail in April or May. And maybe by motorcycle sometime in the next couple years... Eureka sounds like a nice final stop on a cross country ride.
Wow! Thank you so much for the kind words, and I have to admit, Northern California is indeed “magical“! 😎 You are absolutely going to love that hike on the lost coast, and it’s really fun to do it on a motorcycle as well. Thank you so much for watching and I really really appreciate the comments. It’s always fun to interact with people that watch the channel and I am Always grateful to hear what people think of it. Safe rides and we’ll see you on the next adventure 🍻😎
Hey, thanks very much! I’m trying to stay consistent with that Sunday morning with your coffee kind of vibe, if you know what I mean 😆 Thanks for watching, and I always appreciate the comments! 😎🍻
Sensational footage Forrest! The Mud Runner seems to be doing you well. I try to see your mileage just for my OCD. I'm always curious how much other enthusiasts move about. Cannot get enough of those redwoods. Years ago building houses, one could get pine and ceader all day long. Red wood decks were for those who had money. Acquiring board foot in finish material now a day is obsolete. We've obliterated our resources. Thank God for individuals like yourself and Ranger Steve. I Pray your sister is well in Smithers this holiday season. 🙏
I’m glad you enjoyed the series! I have roughly somewhere around 40,000 miles plus on the bike so far. I had the instrument cluster replaced under warranty, but it doesn’t reflect the actual mileage now 😝 I absolutely love this bike and I know someday I will wear it out so I’m actually considering buying another one and just stash it away in the garage until needed🤔😂 Thanks for the prayers and stay safe, my friend! Thanks for watching! 😎🍻
Hey, that’s great! Well welcome to the channel and thanks for subscribing! I’m kind of going for that Sunday morning with your coffee kind of vibe 😎 more to come…..
Late to comment on this one. Another great series! Loved your camera perspectives. Always enjoy your lunch stops and looks like Eureka has some interesting lounges 😉
It’s never too late to comment😆 I’m glad you enjoyed the series, that spot for lunch was so quiet and peaceful. I hung out there for about an hour and yes, Eureka is a fantastic place to visit with interesting places to see. I’m glad you could ride along, the next adventure is just around the corner. Happy holidays,…😎🍻
Thanks for the biology lesson. Do the trees only clone themselves if they are cut.. or break off? Or do they clone regardless? That area never gets old. Thanks for sharing.
Redwood trees will sprout from the cut stumps or roots. Logging (mostly) harvests the stem, then the original tree will come back from the root stock. That said, some of the timber companies are actually cloning the trees, starting with just few cells. They are looking to optimize the value of the harvest. (Fewer limbs, better growth.)
Redwood trees sprout from dormant buds, called burls that are usually around the main stem of the tree just under the soil line, although it is not uncommon to see them sprouting up higher in the tree as well. If the tree is damaged, it sends a hormone down to the burl, waking it up and sprouting another clone. That’s how we get the famous redwood circles, in fact that gives me an idea for my next video. I happen to know where there’s some great examples of this and I will ride out there as soon as possible and film and discuss. Thanks for the inspiration! 😎🍻
@@yowser8780 That’s so cool. Like crustaceans that grow new limbs when they loose one. I learned something. This explains why when I cut an alder or cottonwood down, new shoots come out the stump. Same idea I suppose. Thanks.
I am currently wearing a helmet made by Bell and it is their adventure series. It’s pretty good but to be honest it’s a little noisy. It’s good for the price, but I might be getting something different soon. Thanks for watching and I always appreciate the comments! 😎🍻
I just picked up a 2023 Himi with only 180 miles on it. This is my second Himi, I regrettably sold my 2021….that has been rectified. I looked at the 450 but, that doesn’t do it for me. How many miles do you have on yours? Love the videos!
Sweet news Brother. The 452 doesn't do anything for me either. 22 Himalayan 11,600 miles in Vegas. Ride Safe! Forrest may spring for a 452 from what I have watched.
I have roughly somewhere over 40,000 miles on my 2021 411 Himalayan. I know if I ever sold the Mudhorn I would regret it immediately so I don’t think that will be happening. I am considering buying a 2023 for 411 Himalayan That has 12 miles on it for $3500 and just put it in the garage for later, lol, or when my daughter is finally ready to start riding around with me. But I have to admit I am looking at the 450 as well, I love the looks and the charm of the 411 but it is really difficult to make those long distance trips on it. The bike does fine. I just don’t have enough free time to do it that way if you know what I mean. I think that’s where the 450 will solve that long distance getting there to start the journey problem. Congratulations on your second Himalayan 👍 thanks for watching!😎🍻
@NorthboundMotorcycleADV Enjoy! I am still riding every day. You are a testament as well as a North West Advocate for Royal Enfield. Keep up the great work. Other than my fork gaiters disintegrating...I have had not one problem. No wonder...Built like a Gun! Boy that pizza looked awful tasty

What’s the namebrand and style of that helmet?

I’m definitely considering it, but I’ll never get rid of the 411 😎🍻
I absolutely love riding around the redwoods on the 411 Himalayan, it is perfect!

Nice vid, Forrest! Love the information while checking out the scenery!
