  • In this video you can find out some key problems to see if you have a blown charge pipes, charge pipes generally cracks because of boost pressure, with or without tune. Also I gave you 3 ways to check your cars horsepower.

    Hey bud, FANTASTIC video explaining this.
    But, I recently purchased a super cheap ebay Charge Pipe with a BOV for $90 lol, it was full metal pipe with a BOV but had noticed, it was lacking in torque and felt just rough to drive, I was making 20 PSI though but it didn't feel like it?
    So I put my original on with some gorilla glue for a short test ( It was split before the glue ) and it was a rocket, extreme amount of torque down low, crazy HP up top and it was the OEM charge pipe...
    If you could explain, how was it still making and reading 20 PSI even though it didn't feel like it and the original charge pipe made the same but it felt ALIVE compared to the ebay charge pipe feeling dead and sluggish but saying it's making 20 PSI?

    Is your intake a full intake pipe all the way down to the turbo? If so, i want one! What part is your intake? I got a 528i

    If I was leaking boost and it’s cause my stock charge pipe once I replace it with the aftermarket alimuming one it should fix it right ?

      Yeah, almost every time it’s cause the charge pipe cracked so it should fix it

    Mine blew at 25k miles. Went into limp mode. Took it to the dealer, the second I described what happened, the advisor just blurted out “charge pipe.” I was past the warranty time-wise, but well under mileage-wise, so they fixed it under warranty. Before it happens again, I’ll be replacing the whole system. The fact that the problem is this common is inexcusable for BMW.

      Yea it's ridiculous. My charge pipe, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gasket failed at the same time. BMW builds some of the most well rounded and competent cars but they somehow always manage to cut cost in critical aspects. N20 plastic oil pan, plastic oil filter housings, early B58 plastic oil pumps, plastic water pumps, gaskets failing before the warranty period, and the list goes on. I would much rather have a cheaper interior if it means that parts in the engine bay don't randomly disintegrate. When life gives you lemons, buy a BMW.

    I have a ‘15 328i 6MT with the N20 and 73k all stock. I feel hesitation when I’m accelerating between 2.5 and 3.5-4 rpms. When I take off everything’s fine until I get to those rpms. Feel that hesitation/loss of power. Not sure if I’m explaining it right. Any insight on that if you can please?

      When was the last time you changed the spark plugs?

    Does a 328i make less boost? Thinking of just doing bootmod3 1 91 octane. Cheers

      They are both twin turbo so boost will be the same, but because the engine has less power, that’s why it feels lower, but boost is about the same

    I think my charge pipe broke. It makes a whine sound and gets louder as it warms up. Also I have a rich code. Is it accurate?

      It might be the charge pipe but if you have an intake it will throw you an air mass or rich mass error too

    I’m running 60 psi and my throttle body keeps blowing my charge pipe out. How can I go by that my t clamps work but had to cut of throttle body charge pipe plate nd put coupler nd now keeps blowing it off I have 1000 hp when I’m running I here a metal grinding noise touché the bottom charge pipe of the Inter cooler and it wiggles nd turns is that the issue there

      Try to get the main issue first, try to find out where the metal grinding noise is coming from, because the sounds like a problem, so try to find the cause of that first

    My car rough idles and goes into limp mode when going WOT. I have the bootmod3 tune and have already changed out my spark plugs, coil packs and even fuel injectors idk what’s wrong with it.

      Oh damn, you might want to find a big scanner and plug it, to see what faulty codes or problem it’s having

    I have a 435i N55 and I hear a turbo whistle at medium/high revs. Is this normal and could it be my chargepipe?

      No necessary, when you have too much turbo built up the blow off valve will let the built boost go

      I think I have this same problem. Low power but turbo whining sounds that seem to “rev” with the accelerator. Did you fix yours?

      @@lucash848 Yes but mine was actually a bad turbo. I replaced the whole turbo assembly and it’s running right now.

    Is it twin turbo ? Or twin power turbo im a little bit confused between the 328i and 335i

      They are both twin scroll single turbo, but they call it twin power turbo, they just like to make things confusing

      Yeah I would hear like I let off the gas and turbo will sound, but I was still on the gas at low speed, after I changed it it went away
