- Minus the bug in which the interrogation was voiceless, I was able to complete this without issue (some NPC freezing to avoid early death). It's worth a watch to see the improved lighting effects and way more detailed rooms, compared to the PS2 version.

The level looks fairly complete already. More so than Severonickel.
Surely they could've polished this up for release and it would've been fun to play. It's such a mystery to me why this had to be cut.
Many of the peculiarities in the PS2 Power Plant level's design make a lot more sense now that we know the layout of the original Xbox version.

I haven't seen this mission since 2004, I had a PlayStation 2 at the time. I'm almost feeling emotional.
The ps2 version lacked the trees you can see at the start of the mission, I think.
(I checked: the trees are still there, but their shadows are nowhere to be seen)
The XBOX version has so much more in terms of visuals. It's definitely the definitive edition here. IDK why it got cut in the end.
NPP in this build looks as good as other levels (excluding Severonickel). No wonder why they chose to include it in the ps2, as it nearly completely finished. Such a shame to cut a chunk of a game that would fill the hole between Kalinatek and Myanmar.
At the time, they must have thought it was necessary as not cutting NPP would just leave plot threads dangling that wouldn't be resolved as Sevronickel wasn't there. There has to be a way to extract these levels to mess around with them... Port them over to PC, There isn't even that much work required to finish them off, we just need the tools they used back in the day.
SC1 suuuucks without knowing this background. Those newscasts on your channel fill in the plot so well. The change from kalinatek to embassy is way too jarring and skips so much cut plot, involving tracing the signal through nuclear plant to Masse's hacker hideout in Severonickel while Nikoladze continues his information warfare on US dams, power plants, etc.
It's a little jarring yeah but the only plot I can really think of that gets left behind is Phillip Masse... And he gets taken care of in the DLCs anyways so it's not a total mess I think.
This level looks nice as HELL, but hey, if it requires 128mb to even run, and it *still* dips below 20fps in a lot of areas, I see why it was cut.
I chalk that up to lack of optimisation really. This is stuff they could have ironed out if they had more time.
Ugghhh. I wanna play this without needing anytjing crazy. Looks so gorgeous. Only thing I prefer on PS2 is the white suit for the first section since it makes more sense but this is undeniably way cooler.
Okay, so in this beta build, NPCs' headgear doesn't fall off when knocked out, but you can still shoot them off.

Modded Xbox can play from extracted ISO.

@@kombaynnikoladze4821 Just look up modded ogxbox - but I would just use Xemu. cazzhmir who made a comment has the ISO you can use.
