It’s Rocket’s dialogue btw. You just heard it from Star Lord’s spectator cam which probably created some confusion, but you can easily tell it’s Nolan North playing Rocket.
Rocket Racoon says "flark" all the time in the comics. I do think the voice actors who worked on the recent Guardians of the Galaxy game, they sound better than Nolan North and however is voicing Star Lord. Spiderman, Star Lord and Rocket, they sound too similar in this game, the voice acting is kinda shaky imo. I know it's easy to shit on Overwatch, but the voice acting was always topnotch, there's some ugly ducks here and there like Mei (the voice actress was pretty much a novice and it shows), the recent Overwatch "2" characters, etc.. But here it comes Juno reminding us how Overwatch used to be great regarding the chataracter designs... But too little too late
12:47 funny thing is, they have the animation for this exact thing already in the game. If you go to Monster Hulk and zoom in and then zoom out (with either the mouse wheel or the right stick), Monster Hulk will 'Hulk Smash' the ground in front of him. So they have the animation for it, so surely it can't be that hard to add that attack/ability in the game, even for Heto Hulk.
Imagine having a game mode where you get all infinity stones or gauntlet and you can snap the whole enemy team to end a round since it’s 50% of the lobby
That "goo" attack from Hulk is actually his thunder clap, which is cool as fuck. Asides from that, he should get an aoe smash attack if he doesn't already have one
Naah, it's a literal spit that hard stun characters. It does make sense with his "kit", Hulk freezes the enemy in place for him to get close and... smash with his little punches. Hulk definitely needs to be reworked, the punches should be slower, heavier and do more damage, etc.. They can salvage most of the assets, but the spit, bubbles and team up with Iron Man and Dr Strange, all that stuff needs to go away
Fun fact: Back in the alpha there were 20 unreleased characters in total (we got 4 in the beta so its 16 now) so I can see a very insane launch for this game in the future
@@NathanAllen-q5b I don’t think so cause this isn’t a big aaa game studio making it so I’m Imagining there is gonna be dlc for do or a way to earn him via challenges and stuff.
This is the same as when people asked for a sequel to Assassin's Creed 2 and eventually had Ghosts of Tsushima. Sometimes your inspired son is better than your biological one.
The only reviewer I've seen that is hating on this game rn is Skill Up. Literally everyone else I've watched has been singing this game's praises. I think Skill Up has a serious issue of not being able to look beyond a game's influences and CONSTANTLY comparing a game to the other games it was inspired by. It's quite annoying.
This is surprisingly similar tone to Payday 3, you need to do a follow-up when this comes out. I feel like in a lot of betas they allow progression to be much faster so players can experience the full game. There is a lot of potential here for extreme greed in how they choose to monetize.
I'd be shocked to be honest seeing how to my knowledge payday 3 died immediately but then again wouldn't be the first time a company tries to copy a failed experiment thinking "WE can do it Better"
The differences are that this is free and the game is still months away from releasing. Like I said, it's gonna boil down to if they listen to player feedback and how they monetize the game
Probably my favorite aspect of this game is that you can tell in every single design choice that this was made by people who really love these characters and love where they come from. The designs, the voice acting, the gameplay, all of it feels so faithful and so genuine
They can do so much modes and events with this. Search and destroy, capture the flag, classic team death match can have some crazy twists by using actual marvel lore
As someone who is a big fan of the Marvel Franchise (Movies and Comics), this game is a dream come true for me. I've been waiting for a good Marvel team up game, since Ultimate Alliance. As well as be accessible to anybody. I played it myself, and it's great! Thanks, Act Man, for getting me a code. Appreciate ya.
While this game feels fun, I don't think it'll have what it takes to beat overwatch once it fully releases. There is a lot of visual clutter, feedback is done poorly (hard to tell if you are going to die or for how much damage you are dealing and are being delt to you), controls (at least on console) are handled weirdly (Example: on PS5, when you move with any character, the thumbstick directs the character's movement accurately, but certain characters have abilities that lock their movement to PC movement. One of these characters is Scarlet Witch. When you play her, and use her invulnerability ability which on PS5 is the circle button, the accurate movement converts to PC movement, only letting you move the character forward, backwards, left, or right, and the in-between of the combination on two of those keys. going diagonally to the right while using that ability feels like holding the 'W' and 'D' at the same time, eliminating the smooth movement present when just moving the character), some characters have abilities that don't make sense for their character in the comics or movies (example with hulk and his spit and shield ability, or Magneto and his shield ability that looks like a projection instead of just a hulking piece of metal protecting him), lack of creativity on the character abilities (Using magneto as an example: He could have had a mechanic where his basic ability shoots clusters of metal that stay in the ground for a limited amount of time after colliding with an enemy or the environment, and then his abilities make use of the metal in the ground to either enhance them, or use them for the abilities like if it were ammo. Like, imagine if the shield that he makes gets bigger depending on the amount of metal in the ground), and the scaling of objects in the game is very small. The scaling issue is something that would have been fixed if the game had been in first person, but since it's in third person, the maps need to be bigger. This often leads to moments where you enter a room and everything feels crazy small and out of place, this is something that also affects outdoor maps as well like Asgard, where the walls and a majority of the entrances to rooms just look way too small.
@@Insanepie there's no need to be intimidated by paragraphs. Try reading more than 4 words and an emoji sometime, and I promise you that you will feel more enriched in life.
My favourite thing about this game is the replay system. You can actually see the scoreboard, You can see how often your team and the enemy team died, You can even see on the timeline in the replay who killed who. It's amazing. Imagine if OW did that, but we all know they won't lmao.
It's awesome, so many stuff they nailed at day 0. Hell, Overwatch is struggling with the resurrection/invincibility gimmick for years, here it comes Adam Warlock and solve it, just like that. Thrown a lamp that flat out deny characters from dying? No, how about share the health pool of all allies in a area, that will raise their endurance a lot, but not deny death entirely... AND you can use your cosmic Jesus powers to mass rez the entire team, BUT they will revive with 20% of their health. Such a straight solution, clean and classy, something the Overwatch team could never perform
I've played over 30 hours as of now. I think the game is great apart from: 1. Hulk is actually garbage, he needs a lot of buffs. One thing I'd like is his shield ability actually giving a shield on top of his health bar after it depletes. Hulk can also tackle someone from mid air if he jumps exactly where they are but the hitbox is so small for that, it'd be cool if it was larger. 2. Role queue, Role queue, Role queue, Role queue... I don't know how many times I've had a 3rd DPS that just doesn't even get close to the damage i do as a healer. They should implement role ranks like they did in Overwatch so you can actually play with a plat dps as a plat healer. 3. I'm pretty sure game doesn't have this-- a way to see all team mate's healthbars. There are like at least 10 heroes that can stay in air in someway, as a healer it's hard to know if they need healing as you heal Venom and Hulk going ham on enemy team. 4. When someone pings "I need healing", it should say that the healer is not in range, if there aren't healers around. The amount of times I had to deal with people who keep asking for heals when they are 3 buildings away then get mad at me is astonishing.
I think that if they do have unlockable heroes, I won't mind if they do something like what smite did, where you pay a flat 20-30 dollars and then you get every hero they ever release for the game, essentially turning it into a mid priced game with some purchasable cosmetics. So long as I have an option to not always be grinding the new heroes I'll be happy.
Patrolling the mines of Hoxes IV almost makes you wish for a "why is deep rock galactic so awesome!?" video by The Act Man. Can I get a rock and stone!?
Okay that sold me on the game at 06:45 in the video that's a very nifty touch that the characters have unique voice interactions with the other characters that's a shitton of extra programming and voice acting work but it really adds so much extra to the immersion and fun of the game. I was curious about the game already but it looks very promising and I was a massive massive fan of Overwatch 1 and I am massively craving a good hero shooter there just hasn't been anything that has been able to come along and fill the gap left behind by Overwatch 1 and Team Fortress 2 before it
To be fair, the only people who ever say the more competitive and technically competent players "take the fun out" are the casual, non-competitive players that are unwilling to learn. Every game has rules, so it's not the fault of gamers and that a game's existence being inherently competitive upsets the people who refuse to accept that. 🤷
@DaggerPrince that's an opinionated statement. If enough people share that opinion, maybe the devs will change it, but how on earth can you come to that conclusion? Unless maybe you saw similar things in another game that hurt its competitive nature, team up attacks so far seem like a good bonus, not end all be all must have abilities. I'll give the game some time for my judgment.
@@DaggerPrince Ehm ehm, was that not in OW? (GOATS, double shield, etc...) You dont need team benefits to ruin the freedom of choosing heroes. Btw this game really got you going, this is like your 3rd comment trashing this game and defending OW, I wonder if there is a bias here :D
Monetize skins not heroes is the biggest thing. If we have to unlock heroes and it's not by outrageous, then that can be fine too, but please dont paywall heroes out of all things.
Especially, one X-Men in particular based on recent events (I’m not saying who it is in case you or anyone who stumbles upon this comment hasn’t seen Deadpool & Wolverine yet.)
What I really like Is how you get a special bonus from having certain characters on a team together because I remember the old Marvel Alliance games and that X Men Legends: Rise of Apocalypse games having that feature so that's a really awesome callback :)

13:08 a grab would actually be a super awesome mechanic for hulk. Like a grab and throw that can be recovered from with flying or like web slinging, but if they do t have that they are rag dolled. You could throw the threat away, similar to the benefit of the snot thing, or throw then in the ground in front of you for some damage, but then the threat is still right there.
I truly think the BIGGEST thing they can do to make this game truly succeed is keep it casual. Obviously have a ranked mode but in terms of the gameplay keep it as casual as possible. Overwatch and other games already have overtaken the competitive hero shooter but the fun factor of those games have absolutely been lost imo. This game has the best opportunity to appeal to that player base.

@@DaggerPrince Almost all games nowadays have ways to earn buyable heroes for free. Tbh, I think Marvel Rivals will lock heroes behind in-game currency but instead of paying money for said currency you can also earn it through play time. 1,000 per hero sounds fair and you can earn that by playing 12 games a day. If you’ve unlocked all heroes by then, you’re probably already in love with the game. Micro transactions are more forgiving when the game is good.

One thing I felt like you might've wanted to touch on was the fact that team-ups state that they give a "Season Bonus" when hovered over in the hero select. This to me indicates that the devs are planning to switch up the team-ups every season, removing some while adding others, keeping gameplay fresh, though this is just what I assume based on the wording used. @@levievil9220 yeah obviously but this censor at least makes sense.
@@DeeFourCee true I still headcannon star lord said was censored probably by the one above all or Stan lee
This game also has a live replay viewer, meaning that you can rewind the match as a spectator of a live game.
I can finally get my overwatch fix without playing maddening trash!

That "goo" attack from Hulk is actually his thunder clap, which is cool as fuck. Asides from that, he should get an aoe smash attack if he doesn't already have one
He is talking about Hulk's E ability, not his thunderclap. And it's some radiation sciencey stuff, not goo lol
Fun fact: Back in the alpha there were 20 unreleased characters in total (we got 4 in the beta so its 16 now) so I can see a very insane launch for this game in the future

not interested in this weird 3rd person perspective and fighting in the air the whole time. or cringe marvel characters. or this ugly art style.
I’m guessing he said “That flarkin’ hurt”.
Yeah he does
Probably my favorite aspect of this game is that you can tell in every single design choice that this was made by people who really love these characters and love where they come from. The designs, the voice acting, the gameplay, all of it feels so faithful and so genuine
They can do so much modes and events with this. Search and destroy, capture the flag, classic team death match can have some crazy twists by using actual marvel lore
Love the TF2 music in the background. The soundtrack is fantastic. Love playing their music on guitar and bass

I can't wait for Marvel Rivals 2 when they make a co-op!
You joke but a PVE mode for Marvel Rivals would go hard.
You're right, the game *is* fun, but it does have some very big issues that need to be resolved
Bro wrote a whole novel in the TH-cam comments section
Balancing is a different league when it comes to these games. I hope they stumble to your comment and take notes

Magneto's shield IS comics accurate tho.
My favourite thing about this game is the replay system.
You can actually see the scoreboard,
You can see how often your team and the enemy team died,
You can even see on the timeline in the replay who killed who.
Two uploads in a day is crazy. But thank God act man didn't only upload a tier list video.
A good game from marvel is a surprise but a welcome one
I've played over 30 hours as of now. I think the game is great apart from:
Definitely a thing about smite that overlook mostly you can catch a sale from time to time to like 8$
5:56 he said that FLARKING hurt its a swear word substitute that was in eidos Montreals Guardians of the Galaxy game
Okay… a capture the infinity gauntlet would be sik
Since the closed alpha test a few months ago already 4 new heroes. They’ve done a great job
I wish there was a focus mode, where your teammates abilities and visual effects are faded. So you can see the enemies better.
FINALLY the Xmen are back in action! Ain’t played them since Marvel vs Capcom…
I like how spider man plays almost exactly like he does in his own games
For the Hulk spit. It would be kind of jank, but the ability could stay the same, but instead Hulk throws a boulder and the enemy is trapped under it.

8:42 Oh people are gonna do that without the team up benefit either way. Players will optimize the fun out of everything
To be fair, the only people who ever say the more competitive and technically competent players "take the fun out" are the casual, non-competitive players that are unwilling to learn. Every game has rules, so it's not the fault of gamers and that a game's existence being inherently competitive upsets the people who refuse to accept that. 🤷
@@SSZeroget back to your basement
@@SSZero the team up benefits are still a really bad idea. itll enfroce a meta and ruin freedom in choosing heroes.

One thing I felt like you might've wanted to touch on was the fact that team-ups state that they give a "Season Bonus" when hovered over in the hero select.
