I've owned A Trackir for many years but once I tried the Tobii eye tracker I gifted my track ir to another flight sim enthusiast and have been rockin' my Tobii ever since.
Nice review, thanks from the UK. Useful, practical tips for XP. My Tobii has been sitting in its box since September whilst I'm busy developing a new airfield scenery, but you've inspired me to install it.
I wanna buy this but not one video review on it shows it while in a dogfight. The problem with trackir is when you are dog fighting and turning your head around a lot you hit the edge of the sensor and it goes haywire. I fly ina completely blacked out room so no backlight. Then when you turn your head back to center its off as the view is looking off to the right/left/up/down slightly and forcing the reset key.
The MSFS in game native support settings is definitely more limited than what is offered in game hub. Game hub for DCS and Xplane you can really dial in how you want it..
How does this compare to the freeware head tracking (e.g. using AITrack with OpenTrack)? I'm sure it must be better but I can't imagine how the differences would warrant spending over £200...
Is this Tobii Eyetracker works also if your main monitor (the one where you flying on) is not standing in front of you but bit to the right is it still working?
This is really one of my favorite pieces of hardware. It takes a bit of work to figure out what works for you, but once setup its really awesome. I use a 32” curved ultra wide monitor, and having the tobii just helps add immersion for me. I dont use much hardware as I like to stay “in” the sim, so this was a great addition
This is an absolutely amazing device when using a 14 inch screen, I use a 60 inch TV, here it works really well, so it was a completely unnecessary purchase.
@@BluGames ‘cause I think that if I move my eye to other place than the monitor, basically I won’t be able to see what’s happening on the screen, unless there’s another screen that shows me what the eye tracking system is presenting me based on my eye movements
Wouldn't touch it for that price. Especially I had the first iteration and it was cr*p actually. Thatone was expesive too. Once bitten twice shy is so true here.
How far are you sitting from the tracker? I have one but I also sit quite a distance from the tracker cause of my gear and setup and it doesn’t want to track my eyes 👀 head tracking works perfectly. Love the tobii
I got fed up with stuttering in VR & bought the eye tracker a week ago... I enjoy making videos of my flying trips.. this eye tracker is a bit of a game changer for me. Video via VR is really jittery and hard to watch.. the eye tracker provides the image stability needed. The camera is fixed in one spot but you can turn your head (the camera) in any direction and get a decent impression of flying in VR. bottom line... for video work its great.. but I still want my VR with no stutters!!!! (rtx 3080 i7 11700)
I use 43 tv’s too, it’s nice to see someone else that does. I get a lot of flak for using tv’s and my monitors.
People are missing out! It so much cheaper then a tiny gaming monitor
I've considered this but even after 10 years, my TrackIR4 works great with MSFS. When/if it ever dies, I'll definitely consider Tobi Eye Tracker.
Very nice

Wow nice
What do you find is better about Tobii vs trackIR?
I like it that there's no sensor I have to wear on a hat or glasses. With the Tobii, you just sit down and turn your head.

Goodluck on your scenery
Wish they had this for X box
Didn't even know Tobii eye trackers can do head tracking as well, might look into getting one in the future once I will build my rig
Yep it does
I bought mine a year ago. Great device. I disable eye tracking though and just use head tracking.
The eye tracking is just a gimmick to sell head trakers it has no practical use.
It's funny if like me you have dentures. If I have my dentures out, (that popeye look), Tobii does weird things as my face has changed. Amazing !
Wow thats crazy
trying to get my hands on one of those!
Go for it
I use Track-IR with the Train Simulators (when I am not streaming). It is awesome. The Tobi looks pretty nice.
Sadly i dont think it works for train sim yet tho..
@@BluGames I don't think TrackIR does officially but it works. So does OpenTrack. If this doesn't work by itself feed it through OpenTrack
Not to mention that it doesn't tax your system... the Tobii eye tracker does the processing in the tracking bar.
Wow good to know
can you post your settings?
i might need to get this
I think that few ms delays can be fixed in future software updates, prob need some buffer.
WOW, I need this

Can Tobi be mounted on top of the monitor?

Yea for sure

Tobi or TrackIR?
ok when using the tracker can you center on a panel /mfd or is everything taken as sideways look even if you move your head forward
No you are supposed to have full 3d motion.
WITCHER 4 WILL BE AWESOME WITH TOBI

You need to have several monitors for using this thing properly, why nobody says it??
No.. why would u need several monitors?

Hiw does your sim look so realistic?!
Expensive PC lol
i prefer VR for the price

Perhaps it works for Blu, but it is trash for me! It destroys the experience IMO. But to each their own.
I’m considering buying the eye tracker 5 for MSFS and/or XPlane. Can you elaborate on how it made your experience worse?
Eye can Track and see you👀. I think your Flight Navigator disabled your flight controls. You should fire them lol. But great review brother 😎
You’re better off getting vr! Once you fly in vr you’ll never go back !
How far are you sitting from the tracker? I have one but I also sit quite a distance from the tracker cause of my gear and setup and it doesn’t want to track my eyes 👀 head tracking works perfectly. Love the tobii
Its recommended max distance is 95cm , so worth looking if u can move that bar close to you somehow like on small tripod
