Quick question, it looks like you modified the Thrustmaster Airbus quadrant. How did you get to do that? I would like to do that for my setup to to make it look more realistic. Thanks
Very nice video again! I've been using Tobii eye tracker for an year now and I love it. It's a great addition to my setup when I don't fly in VR. After completed my PPL, I have started my ATPL studies. If you have those ambitions, you should definitely go for it. Meanwhile I am perfecting my setup to practise procedures (mainly GA aircraft (Diamond DA40 NG/TDI) for IR/CPL part) as much as possible to be ready for practical part after theory.
Sorry if this is real dim, but as a VR headset user I can’t help but think, just use a VR headset! Reason being that you see the screen and the window is to your left. You look to the left 90 degrees where the window would be and you look at your wall. So presumably you have to teach yourself to scale the angles you look through, so to shift your view 90 degrees you would look 10 degrees. VR you want to look 90 degrees to the side, you look 90 degrees to the side. Apologies if that’s badly explained but I still can’t quite picture it feeling natural to use. Interested to see what you think. Cracking video as ever mate!
I use the Aerofly A321 in VR, mind blowing. Unfortunately the Fenix A3xx in VR is a frame hog , and my rig is is an i9 14900k, 4090. Fenix is more of a study sim anyway, I prefer having charts in front of me and PFD/ECAM running on tablets, Tobli is perfect
I agree with@@sgtjonzo Especially when you do a lot with connected physical instruments outside the game (IR practise for example). And Tobii is nice addition for this. VR is very nice for more precise control practise and procedures that don't require much instrument interactions (pattern flying with touch and go's for example).
Hey! Wow this is a fun video. Definitely subscribing to your channel! Loved the passenger announcement lol. I really like your minimalist controls setup especially with the mini overhead up top!
Welcome to the future. I've been using the Tobii 5 for years. The software stack has only gotten better. You can use it in the same way in DCS, Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous.
For anyone who wants the same experience but doesn't want to spend alot of money. You could get the same effect using an old webcam with head tracking software (which is free). There are numerous videos that explain it in detail.
Tried that first, but was not the same experience. Tobii works very nice and isn't overprice in my opinion. I did disable eye tracking, because it was to sensible for me. Head tracking is great. You can set the sensibility in MSFS for your own preference.
@@Tuno85 the settings you use for the cheap headtracking can really make or break the experience. You need to set the webcam to lowest quality, if you don’t, the headtracking might only be at 5fps. There’s a good tutorial that goes into depth into the settings.
Nice video! I'm also checking on the eye tracker, maybe I'll try the tobii. Your graphics look crazy though, can you share your PC specs if it's possible? Thanks! Good day sir!
I find it great that you seem to like flight simulation as much as I do! nice video! I can only assume that you did not try VR before now? Seriously, the only thing I know of that I know of that feels real is VR. There is a reason you can't go back to flat screen after experiencing VR, especially in flight and racing simulations, which is because you have never had depth perception before playing in VR. The only other times where you have depth perception except in VR is in REALITY. For real.
Get an ATPL (well, fATPL)! If you treat enjoying the flying/journey to get there as the main objective, the qualification is a bonus - and then you have it if you fancy a career change! I know a few people who have gone the other way and are now Doctors.
Thanks man, I think having medicine in my pocket is always helpful, but like you said, I'm in no rush, so starting my ppl soon and seeing where it takes me!
Nice advert ;) Still, it's a good piece of gear that does make the sim experience much more immersive, and definitely a (fairly expensive) purchase that you would keep and make use of...unless you're a VR-only chap/chapess, but there we're talking much, much, much more expensive.
Hi, just two questions, what is the overhead panel you are using, I think I have the same monitor as you, can you share your camera settings for the cockpit, also how far are you from the monitor and what is the high of your monitor, ie what level are your eyes? Many thanks. Dave
I was all set to get one a while back and then discovered that with the arrival of the Eyetracker 5 they doubled the price, making it $500 after tax in Canada. That put an end to that idea :(
Hi mate great video! Just a heads up when your checking the flight controls the correct terminology is “NEUTRAL” not “CENTRE” (Full left, Full right, Neutral)
Couple questions for you. What is the details of the screen that you were using and can I add two more side screens and will the tracking still work tracking from one screen to the next. I’m also interested in the rest of your set up all of your gear that you use you seem to have a real interesting set up. I will be buying 2024 once it comes out that’s when I’m going to do my complete set upso I’m holding off until then. My budget is about 6000 Canadian. Hope this finds you well and I hope that you’ll be able to answer the questions. Thanks so much.
And so, you can mount the tobii between you and the monitor, and it's not mandatory to mount it directly on the monitor .. Good to know. Because i have a simracing cocpit and i intend to mount it on the direct drive base, to be able to play mfs2024 Thank you for your vidéo 👍

your young so you should go to defenetly go to flight school, I play fs2020 just for fun as I enjoy learning about aviation systems and procedures but I am too old to do any real training, keep up the hard work and you will get there
Can't recommend. The delay is too big. Framerate of MSFS is too low. You can't read moving image. You can't control moving panels with mouse. So you are constantly trying to hold your head steady. I'd say it's useful if you have full hotas and you never ever need to use mouse, and you mostly look at HUD. In my case also motion sickness, which I blame on the delay in tracking.

Both has its place, VR is awesome but not comfortable for a 2 hour flying session, so head tracking is really good for extended playing periods

Might not add a huge amount to flying commercials on your end, but for the audience it made the screen capture way more realistic!
It increases my enjoyment for sure, and excited to hear it makes it feel more immersive as a viewer :D
Just a tip, make sure to read out the FLEX temp on takeoff (in this case you would say 'MAN FLEX 57 SRS RUNWAY A/THR BLUE')
Thanks, will take that onboard!
