@@billgonzales8978 I think the real expense is that HD owners can't seem to stop messing with them. They appear to hold their value pretty well if you don't get stupid, so buying a gently used one is only a slightly poor investment rather than a money sink. The sink would be all the mods you do. You'll get most of your money back on the bike when/if you sell. You probably aren't getting squat for the mods. At best you take them off and restore the bike to factory spec and sell them individually, but in terms of time and energy that's probably not gonna be a great deal.

Another awesome video Block. I must say, I was a little worried in the beginning of this video when the cam was shown. I got to thinking of clearance issues with the case interior. Thank goodness there was no case grinding involved.
Also love the first crank portion. Not anything at all like my first cranks after closing up a repair or upgrade. Chris is just oozing confidence not worried at all, while I would be having a nervous breakdown anticipating the infinite number of problems with my FXDL refusing to start.....

Adjustable pushrods aren't as strong or dependable as non-adjustable pushrods. If you are building a custom motor, use the adjustables to find the correct size. Then, pull them out and send them to Hammer Performance. They can have custom made, thicker walled, May West tipped, chromemoly pushrods, to fit your application. That's what I do whenever I build a custom motor. Talk to Arron at Hammer. Peace, Stiletto :-)

Solid pushrods are just nice to have, it’s like a reassuring feeling. I’ve used Feulings, but like y’all said, gotta make sure they match the base circle of the cam. Haven’t really seen adjustables cause any issues even on the big motors. Of course when they are set right.

The one thing that would make this even better is seeing the dyno’s back to back or super imposed on the same graph. So we there are comments of improvement etc it will be visible in the rpm range.

Would like to know chris take on long term reliability when building your motor up and when is it "too much" just for the sake of performance. Learning ALOT on this series \M/

Love the episode. Chris is doing great work educating everyone on cam/ valve train performance. Did you / are you going to upgrade the valve springs to prevent valve float or is that not a concern until higher rpm?

Has this cam given you the best overall performance? I just got my 131 built, still going through the breakin and planning on my 1yr mark when I can unleash the beast. REALLY love the content and your walkthrough of this entire process. Keep it up!

With more horsepower and heat tolerances are a big concern in an air cooled motor. That is why we have water cooled motors to control those clearances. Heat shortens engine life significantly.
