Thanks for documenting the process. I have a 71 barn find where the factory baffles are rusted through at several seams. Just yesterday I took them off and dumped several pounds of seeds, insulation, and rust chunks. This looks like a good sounding option.
It's always amazing what you find when resurrecting a barn find bike. Sounds like you'll definitely need a new exhaust then! I can confirm that the Delkevic is a great choice. :)
Pretty can come after functionality. I love resurecting non runners, usually run out of steam on the cosmetics myself. Good luck, I am sure it will be very rewarding.
Ratchet straps are the answer to all prayers when dealing with exhaust syatems. They can be used to keep the exhaust pipes in place and they can be used to force the silencer in place.
Thanks for this. Y USA 1975 CB750F 4 into 1 exhaust has a tatty almost homemade looking megaphone silencer. Sounds the business, maybe too much so. After a very long break I’m starting to look again at the options for replacing it, so this is a contender. Any others with a good price point, new or secondhand? Could have got those springs on when I first did the major rebuild back in 1998, now I doubt it. I’d have to call on the services of the next generation of spanner turners in the family.😊
Great video! I just put this same exhaust on my 1973 CB750 K3 last week, and I ended up using the supplied spacers to move the bracket a bit inboard to make everything line up. It took a bit of forcing to get everything to line up, but it eventually did. To anyone thinking of buying this exhaust, it sounds a lot nicer than any of the videos convey. You have the ability to remove the baffles, but I'm not sure why you would do that. It sounds great the way it is.
@@SrgBlueBalls They’re loud-ish. They sound like any other performance exhaust that you would find on a modern sport bike. They DO NOT have the same sound as a stock exhaust.
@@HIPNAUTIC. Do you have any experience with the marving exhausts? Delkevic's look nicer, but im really looking for a bit less sound. Thanks for the fast reply @hipnautic

Great job mate. I have a 1975 Honda 750k5. It has aftermarket 2 into 2 on it which sounds pretty good but I wish it had the factory 4 into 4. I don't have money to do that though. Maybe someday lol. Peace and long life!
Good video. I just received the same model today. I expected there to be clamps included. Where did you get yours sir? Edit. I was able to use the original finned clamps. Also, my muffler came with a center stand rubber stop. How in the world did you get your springs on with a screwdriver? Mine included a very handy hook that even Schwarzenegger could have used!
Thanks. I got mine secondhand, so some of the parts were missing. I made a bracket out of some sheet steel I already had. Those springs can be difficult to fit, but not usually as bad as centre or side stand springs. I really must get the correct tool for the future.
Do you know the torque settings for the header bolts? I hand tighten mine, then after a run have to again - I need to get some lock washers, and find that torque setting. If you got it, thanks -
My understanding is that there isn't a set torque for the header bolts because of the crush washers. The wisdom seems to be, hand tight, then 1/4 extra turn, check if it leaks then an extra 1/4 if it does, maximum of 3/4 of a turn overall. If still leaking start again with another crush washer. I also use exhaust assembly past which does seem to help stop leaks. Whatever you do, don't over tighten, you can pull the studs out of the head, they only screw into the alloy. Hope this helps, good luck.
@@SPANNERRASH Thanks engine is hot in just returning - will torque them just gently - btw; I subscribed, and you are listed as a featured channel on my channel -
I got mine on - really nice on the 1979 DOHC CB750 - This Tuesday, I'm seeing Danny at Meineke to get the springs on - I could not - th-cam.com/video/IsLYxujqSvk/w-d-xo.html
They can be really difficult and there are lots of different ways that you can hurt yourself if you aren't careful. A good trick I have seen is to put a strong cable tie through the end of the spring so you can pull on that to put it in place. It's the one I will use in the future.
They are nice pipes. Take a bit of jiggling to get on but worth it. I didn't bother fitting the silencer to mine! th-cam.com/video/eIpdYINn6HM/w-d-xo.html

Thanks for posting. I have a 72 CB750 that I rescued from being dumped in a field. I like the T-shirt. I also have a 71 BSA Lightning that is a bitsa.
Thanks Gary! Sounds like a fine pair of bikes to me.
Love it
I have a 78 that hasn't been on the road in more than a decade
Just trying to make it run, not pretty!
Thanks for the inspiration

The springs can be "fun"! I really like the Delkevic, looks good and seems really good quality.

Awesome, it is a fiddly job but well worth it. I'm a big fan of how these Delkevic exhaust systems sound. They really are sublime.
Is’t the noice to loud of the delkevic? The once i have now give me earproblems.. but before buying, would like to hear your opinion. Regards Frank

Cheers! Yeah the factory 4-to-4 exhausts have become like hen's teeth. Worth a fortune. It's a shame really.
Very nice job, and the new exhaust pipes sound great.
Cheers Reggie, I'm pretty chuffed with the result :)
I’m enjoying the videos, keep them coming.
Thanks Michael, there are more on the way :)
Great video. I didnt realise they did this 'straight pipe' look so I think I'm going to pick one up for my 750k 👍

I agree, they are great systems. I would always look at what they have to offer in the future. Might be a bit load without the silencer though.
