What makes you choose a stem glass vs a rocks glass? Personally, i cant stand stem glasses so most of my drinks are either in rocks glass or a collins.
I have had so many of these now! I love this cocktail! Fantastic!! I have played around with Bourbon and Rye and I love both. It's also fabulous with a Rittenhouse. It blends beautifully with the Averna and stands up to it so well!!
I love a Black Mahattan and usually use Amaro Nonino buy tried this recipe and loved it! I had recently got some Averna and love it...shelves look great!
Hey dude. Cool video. Shelving also looking good. Rather than just booze .. I would include more products that are available from your site such as the dehydrated citrus, cocktail kits, ready made cocktails etc. Also, leave some space for that Silver Play button plaque TH-cam will send you!
Thanks Kurt! Yeah good idea, will incorporate some more props rather than just bottles to space it out... we quickly finished the shelves as soon as the paint dried before filming so didn't spend enough time actually 'styling' it... can't wait for the button to ARRIVE!! YEOW!!
The new bar looks amazing. Just made me think of putting something like that up in my dining room, since I keep all my booze in two big drawers of my kitchen. So they are well hidden atm.
Steve, I love this combination, for a change! I am enjoying trying our various Amaros. I really like the addition of the Averna, instead of the sweet vermouth. The original is my favorite, but this is a great option, and it's so delicious!! Thank so much!! Happy Holidays - 2020!!
You should consider adding sneak peeks of videos you’re making in the future by having the bottles on the wall in the background. Just something fun you could toss in.
I am quite fond of this cocktail too...lately, I have taken to trying other amari in it...i have found that Ramazotti works wonderfully as does Abano, Braulio, and Cynar. The set looks great...thanks for another fine video. Cheers!
I haven't had a Black Manhattan before but it sure sounds like I'd love it! I didn't notice the shelving change until you mentioned it. I'm not sure it matters a whole lot. Focus is on you and the booze!
I'm headed to Bourbon and Branch next weekend, i'll definitely be ordering this. Steve have you been there? it's a speakeasy where you need a password to get in and there's an extra secret bar in the back.. behind the bookcase. So kitschy but so fun!
Hi Steve! I would like to buy a bottle of Amaro liqueur (my first) but there are a few options and I am not sure what to choose. I would use Amaro for cocktails like the ones you make, but I see that you use several types of Amaro in different recipes so I don't know which one to buy. I guess the one that is more versatile and used in more cocktail recipes? Please help!
Hey Steve, I love your videos. Can you make a video for dehydrating fruit and how to keep them fresh? I live in Hawaii and my fruit tends to rehydrate and get moldy.
Love this drink. For the negroni’s, any plans for a negroni slushy? There’s a place in Chicago called Parson’s that makes an amazing negroni slushy and it’s all I’ve been drinking on hot summer days.
The shelving looks a lot better. In my honest opinion I wasn't too much of a fan of the old shelving - it gave off more of a warehouse/garage look. This one is much more appealing! :)
Additionally I do something else to the drink: I add some smoke to the drink. I lit some wood chips under a decanter, and then I filled the drink in the decanter and give it a little shake. But don´t overdo it. When to much smoke aroma comes into the drink it ruins the balance.
Is Averna anything like Amaro Di Angostura? If not have you ever tried Amaro Di Angostura? I think you’ll like it. www.angostura.com/brands/amaro-di-angostura-2/
Lol, I was first on this one! Leandro has beat me to a few recipes though.. it happens a fair bit... about to upload something and he beats be my by a day so I have to hold off on uploading. We’re organising a collab soon!
What's your preferred Manhattan ratios?
the traditional 2-1-2(dashes) is a good staple but I prefer 4-1-2(dashes)
2.5 oz rittenhouse rye, 0.75 oz sweet vermouth, 2 dashes Ango - a la Death & Co.
I’ve been making these with a 3-1-2 ratio (Chicago area code). I’ve been using Scrappy‘ chocolate bitters tho.
What makes you choose a stem glass vs a rocks glass? Personally, i cant stand stem glasses so most of my drinks are either in rocks glass or a collins.
3 bulleit rye - 3/4 sweet - 3/4 dry - 3 dashes = frozen highball + cherry
New background looks great.
Modern and organized.
Thanks Fred! Much appreciated...

i can’t help but smile back every time
New shelves, nice. Looking good.
A great recipe to add into my rotation. I used Nonino because I had it open. Yum. I can see how Averna would be great.
Cheers for another awesome and informative video Steve. I'm liking the new layout of the shelves. Keep up the great work mate.
Thanks Wizard! Matte paint on the back so it doesn't reflect the harsh light >_
I love a Black Mahattan and usually use Amaro Nonino buy tried this recipe and loved it! I had recently got some Averna and love it...shelves look great!
Me too. Nonino is legit
Another winner. Drinking this right now!
One of my favorite cocktails. I coffee infuse the averna for a slightly different twist. Awesome!!!

Shelving looks good man! Makes it look like a nice middle ground between a classy bar and a homely environment
Black Manhatten is me in a drink. My signature cocktail! 🖤 🖤 🖤 🍒
The new bar looks amazing. Just made me think of putting something like that up in my dining room, since I keep all my booze in two big drawers of my kitchen. So they are well hidden atm.

Thank you Steve. A very balanced taste of the cocktail. Something like the Old Fashion, but this is a little different, new notes have appeared.
I don't drink alcohol period. But I love your channel steve. The background layout is nice looking.
Shelving looks good. 👍 Great Manhattan.
Love the choice of Bourbon for this. Great video!
Thanks Ben! 👍
You should consider adding sneak peeks of videos you’re making in the future by having the bottles on the wall in the background. Just something fun you could toss in.
Love the new shelving - looks great (as does the Black Manhattan!)
I like the new shelving! Displays the bottles quite nicely :)
I prefer the background as it is now. It looks fancier.
I like the new shelving. Always enjoying your videos!
I just made this tonight it's such a tasty cocktail, and I was finally able to crack open my bottle of Averna
Delicious hey! First time I had it when filming and was pleasantly surprised!
I am quite fond of this cocktail too...lately, I have taken to trying other amari in it...i have found that Ramazotti works wonderfully as does Abano, Braulio, and Cynar.
The set looks great...thanks for another fine video. Cheers!
Love the new shelves! Looks fresh and fun.
Love the new set design! Don't have Averna but will be sure to order this first chance I get...
Great Video Steve. And great change with the added shelving
Oh, and by the way, there's no subscribe button on the end screen where the red arrow points...
Love the shelving! Add a smiling picture of you mate, it’s what we came here for!
Shelving is superior! I like seeing what booze you have on hand. The interruption in the previous shelving was distracting.
Love this variant as it is less sweet than the traditional. More a cold night drink for me.
Quite impressed with this one! 😬
I haven't had a Black Manhattan before but it sure sounds like I'd love it!
I didn't notice the shelving change until you mentioned it. I'm not sure it matters a whole lot. Focus is on you and the booze!
Can you make teaching video about bitters? what kind of bitters use, how much and why you need to use them.
Your shelves look great 👍
Thanks Erin!
I am a Manhattan fan but not a vermouth fan, so thx gonna try this soon
Mark Thomas How can you be a Manhattan fan without also liking vermouth?
@@bp3986 not a fan, but maybe soon, thx to this version
you should make a video mixing drinks with sambuca and other liquorice/salmiak spirits
Love the new decor looks nice!
Love the new shelving!
I'm headed to Bourbon and Branch next weekend, i'll definitely be ordering this. Steve have you been there? it's a speakeasy where you need a password to get in and there's an extra secret bar in the back.. behind the bookcase. So kitschy but so fun!
Just together my order based on your recipe....thanks for the advice! 🤙🏽
that stirring spoon flip tho!!!

Wow im exited
Hey Steve, I love your videos. Can you make a video for dehydrating fruit and how to keep them fresh? I live in Hawaii and my fruit tends to rehydrate and get moldy.
You could throw them in a glass jar with one of the silica gel bead packs. Like the ones in with beef jerky.
@@rbain2813 nice, I've recently been keeping them in the same jar as some grenadine soaked dehydrated apple slices and that seems to work, too
Hey. Good stuff! Back seems more cluttered than previous. Keep up!
I actually liked the old background better. But as long as you keep it classy and uncluttered I won’t complain.
Love this drink. For the negroni’s, any plans for a negroni slushy? There’s a place in Chicago called Parson’s that makes an amazing negroni slushy and it’s all I’ve been drinking on hot summer days.
I like the new background!
You go Steve your the man
Shelves look great! :)
I’ve tried it with Cynar
The shelving looks a lot better. In my honest opinion I wasn't too much of a fan of the old shelving - it gave off more of a warehouse/garage look. This one is much more appealing! :)
Steve’s got a new shelf
Just watched the Archer series and Mallory asked for a Black Manhattan had to check out what was the fuzz about
I like the shelving
Never thought I'd say that
I like the shelving!
The shelving looks better now.
Are there any australian based manhattan variations?
Do you mean created by an Australian bartender or utilising Australian ingredients..?
@@StevetheBartender_ yes! and with a name referring to a neighbourhood of an australian city
Nice setup
This shelf looks better!
the best cocktail
I'm diggen the new shelving
Shelving is fine, mate.
Can the fernet branca substitute for the Averna?
They’re very different and Fernet would overpower the drink.. do you have any other amaro on hand?
@@StevetheBartender_ nope but will get myself an amaro if that’s the case 👍 Thx
Would amaro Montenegro work?
I've also seen this called the "Staten Island"
So I'm from Europe.
How much does it cost on average at s bar?
Looking better but i miss the old timber boxs
I feel the old timber boxes were a little busy... to much going on in the background..
I would really like to see a little bit of old timber in the background i think it would be a really nice look maybe in a few months tho 😉😉
Good display

👍🏾 to shelving 😎
I’ve got to say that it does looked abut busy. Where’s the Gin?
they're so tasty
I like this background better.
Is good ja?
🖤 black manhattan
Previous background looked more stylish. IMHO
Excited for negroni week

Well ok then. 🤤
I love any mixed drink with whiskey's and bourbon's, but they give me an instant headache. Bummer! I like the new shelving better.
Not shopping at Puerto Rico stores no more
"Black Manhattan" just call it the Harlem
STAAAVEN I AM FIRST
Lol, 2nd....
Dead
Banding Fry's banding Walmart s
Are you and the educated bar fly in cahoots? 😂😂 also the new shelves are sick

Looks better, maybe you know what you're doing now
