I mean, I would've chosen rye anyways too. Bourbon can be too sweet, and rye has a little less sweetness and is a little more spicy. It just makes for a more dynamic drink. (In my opinion)

That Manhattan looked really good. You guys should do a special for when you hit a million subs where u fly one out to have a drink with you guys and the winner gets a bottle of Johnny drinks whiskey
I’m a whiskey & wine type of guy, and I don’t drink very often (any more) my drunken days are over, but I do enjoy a drink every once in a while. Jack and Coke, or a Texas Tea is my go too.
I don't (usually) drink, and I'm a simple man (wine and beer) but watching to you guys I can really say I would love to rise my glass and have a brindis with one of those sophisticated drinks. Thank you.
Just to clarify the "Stand Fast" thing, it's traditionally used in military marching/drill and ceremonies. For example, in "Column of Files" movements, the element leaders of the elements/columns who aren't marching yet will call "stand fast" as a command for their element/column to hold on marching until otherwise indicated.
Hey guys, here in Brazil we have a liquor called "canelinha da rocha", its a very sweet drink, with a honey and cinnamon taste, a lil bit ginger too. Would be sick if u guys buy it and review. Ur guys and ur vids are awesome!! Keep up the good work 👏👏
@@imnotincontrolitsathrowawa3646 man cachaça is very good, but is something i didnt drunk pure, only in drinks. But canelinha is so sweet and flavorful that u can drink a whole bottle

You know what, I was thinking of doing the exact same thing, I don't wear jewellery except a watch but after watching that I thought about getting a rung just to tap the bottle when I make cocktails.
Mint julep!! Yummy.. First one was at kentucky derby. Whole group ordered a round and me and my sister were only one that liked them. Needless to say she and I drank them all. Best day at track ever.🤣🍻
Clearwater is big on specialty drinks. This one is a rye-armoniac blend. Super interesting taste. Price point is definitely high but worth the experience if it fits within your budget.
For my old fashioned's I like to substitute the sugar cube with pure maple syrup. 1 part of that to 3 parts bourbon, 3 dashes citrus bitters and a cherry.
This is great, been waiting for a whiskey video! Could you guys do a video of cocktails with muddled lime? I’m a fan of the caipirinha but want to see some you guys might know of
i love OFs (Old Fashioned not that other thing) with orange bitters because it highlights the citrus peel and i prefer Rye because with the spice i feel it helps balance it a little better
I really enjoy the longer form videos along with the shorts. Keep up the good work gentlemen! Ps: I think your dad would do a great job giving a loose lesson on the histories of different types of spirits (whiskey, scotch, rum, gin, vodka etc), maybe break each into their own videos and make some classic cocktails with those spirits? Anyway, keep it up!
Do you guys have a promo code for free shipping of Clearwater Distilling? I’m pretty sure there used to be something. Looking to order another bottle of that Cinnamon Whisky
for me, very few things beat a classic whisky sour. 2oz of your preferred whisk(e)y 1/2oz of simple syrup (i prefer 2:1 simple syrup, but use whatever simple syrup you have) 3/4oz freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 egg white (or same measure of aquafaba if raw egg white in a cocktail freaks you out) add all ingredients to shaker and shake without ice for a good 10 seconds to froth up the egg, then shake with a single big ice cube (controls dilution as drink is already diluted from the egg white. if you dont have big cubes of ice, any ice you use for shaking will work, just what i prefer to use.) serve up in a coupe or sour glass and garnish with a couple of drops of angostura bitters for me its heaven in a glass.
That Manhattan looked fantastic... and thank you for serving it on a rock... not sure why buy I feel so pretensious when they deliver one to me and it's served up...
"Why do u like rye over bourbon?" .. says nothing lol 😆 made me laugh , love ur guys content tho , I gotta question.. is glenmorangie any good ? I bought a 10 yr old bottle for my birthday tomorrow, how would u recommend I drink it ?
