How good can these Disaronno Amaretto cocktails be? Turns out pretty good! We'll explore 5 cocktails using this famous Amaretto including Marlon Brando's favorite drink The Godfather, Amaretto Sour, The New Day, The Apricot French Connection, and The Amaretto Revolver. Links at the bottom for recipes
Amaretto literally translates to "a little bitter" but Disaranno is not made from almonds, which most of us believe. It's made from apricots but delivers that almond flavor that we're used to.

Hot Coffee with whipped cream Disaronno and Kahlua is amazing for those cold Scandinavian nights.
Him doing it in slow-mo makes me want to get up right now and make drink. I love this liquor
Amaretto and vanilla ice cream make a great milkshake.
I do love amaretto cocktails but I must admit most of the time I drink it likes a sweet whiskey, just over some ice and let it get even sweeter as the ice begins to break down. Very good for my sweet tooth and my enjoyment of having alcohol
Just bought a Disaronno bottle. Such inspiration! Thanks
Love the vibe of this video
feeling so inspired after this
These all look amazing!
Thanks for giving us these cocktails! I have a bottle of amaretto and all I’ve been making is sours with it! This is great! Cheers!
Awesome! Let me know how they turn out. Interested to see if it was just me having low expectations OR are they truly wondrous drinks?!
@@makeanddrink if u mix with corona it taste like Dr Pepper swear to god
I just drink it neat😂
Let's be honest, there's no better fidget spinner than the lid to a new bottle of Disaronno.
Great video with a clean presentation. I also like the music when not talking. I just hit subscribe. Thanks and Saluté.
Gonna try the new day thx so much.
I've been a fan of the Amaretto Sour. The Apricot French Connection and the Amaretto Revolver sound really good! The Italian Mai Tai is another favorite for me. Cheers!
I’ve not had the Italian Mai Tai but sounds good and makes a lot of sense. Will def test that out next time I’m making a Mai Tai
Thank you soooo much 😇
Disaronno is my favorite go to drink straight up on the rocks with ice will have to try other with it
Let’s us know what you think!
Heading into fall, a good amaretto cocktail/drink is the blueberry tea.
1oz amaretto
1oz orange liqueur (traditionally, Grand Marnier)
4-6oz orange pekoe tea (entirely about preference)
It's served hot. Some serve it in a brandy snifter. Granishes can include luxardo maraschino cherries, orange wheel.
But yeah, it's kinda like Hot Toddy. Nice evening drink, especially in winter
Where's the blueberry?
@@brianherman503 some people swear it tastes kind of like blueberries, others say it's a joke, others say it's like how the Long Island Ice Tea has no tea in it 🤷♂️ just the name that stuck for whatever reason at the end of the day
All about presentation 👌
I'm surprised you didn't include the Italian Margarita using Disaronno!
I love shoulder monkey alone but I'll have to try it
I would never use this background music for much of anything…. Damn if it doesn’t work for the channel or this video 👍🏻. Good cocktails info/ presentation too…..
Wow, wow, just wow! The maraschino liqueur gives it a nice complexity and dryness. I like this one better than original with bourbon. Well done! #cheers 🥂
🍸🤤😁👍 Thank you!
Any time!
Nice video
that's the benzaldehyde or something like that is a byproduct produced by the apricot pits inthe process of distilling amaretto and that's this byproduct benzaldehyde that gives that almondy, nutty flavor
Di Saronno solo with hielo is the best.
Need to try a few of these. Always drank it with cola😂
Thank you. Made godfather with whiskey and bourbon separately and compared the two. I liked the bourbon version more. Ofc it depends which product you use
Bourbon is whiskey…
@@ShancyyyI'm sure they meant scotch and bourbon.
I couldn't find the recipe for the lime cordial for the New Day.
I love this and I'm not a drinker.
I'm learning about the stuff. I've always thought the suave type drinking from the glass was cool so things like the godfather speaks to me.
Great video. Replace the famous Disaronno liqueur with a real high qualitity almond based Amaretto like Adriatico, and the cockatails will be even better.
I liked the name DiSaronno much better! It just sounds much classier than 'dis!'
Adding some of these to my list of things to try.
Midori and amaretto?
I guess we will see 🤔👀
I love drinking Disaronno on its own but it makes for a wonderful cocktail liquor 🥃 cheers everyone!
Where can I find the recipe for the lime cordial?
th-cam.com/video/V6CW-r2Rx2s/w-d-xo.html
I have a macadamia liqueur I like to substitute for Amaretto.
Do you have a go-to brand? I think my only experience is from drinks made at Trader Vics
@@makeanddrink The a local liqueur that's just called Mac
I always just go for an amaretto, bourbon, big squeeze of lemon and a drop of maple syrup.
I have all these but never combined them. Amazing thanks for this!
I use amarena fabbri cherries and some of the syrup instead of the maple syrup you mentioned. Give that a go if you're keen!
@@patrickjones5836 Interesting, Ill give it a try!
I can’t be a bar tender I will drink it all just like you 🥚🍳🥃🍸🍺🍷🥂🍻🍾🧉🍹👍
It's pronounced Apricot not Apricot.
Don't forget the "Trader Vic" classic Mai Tai!
Works great with Disaronno!
My simple take on this classic:
2cl Light Rum
3cl Dark Rum
2cl Cointreau
1cl Disaronno
Top of with Orange juice and Ananas juice, drop in som grenadine for effect!
(I usually skip the light rum and double the dark one as I favor the dark ones. Increase the Disaronno for more sweetness)
I don't know what this recipe is supposed to be but it's definitely not a Mai Tai. It's not even really that close.
@@DarkSky513 ...as I wrote "my simple take" and it's not that far from the IBA version:
30 ml amber Jamaican rum
30 ml Martinique molasses rhum
15 ml orange curaçao
15 ml orgeat syrup (almond)
30 ml fresh lime juice
7.5 ml simple syrup
...but please feel free to share your version.
Why the egg white?
Mainly texture. Egg white in historic sour recipes is quite common.
Give it a nice silky texture and foam, along with cutting down on acidity a little. If you are hesitant to use egg whites, the best substitute is no sodium chick pea juice.

What is this music?! 😂😂😂
Disaronno can't even legally be called an amaretto. You wont even see the word anywhere on the bottle or site.
As far as know we don’t have any amaretto laws here in the US
