I just watched your new video right after this one (TH-cam recommended this video by the way) and yeah, I think the subtitles is definitely a nice touch. But that’s just me. Also, I was wondering as I watched these two videos back to back. What happens to all the drinks when you make multiple in one video?

Very nice vid man, it really made me want to drink something! Ps where I live we don't consider aperol spritz a "real cocktail" and it's really common seeing people drink it at every time of the day, even in the morning before lunch. And here the price for Spritz (not only the aperol one) is a joke compared to other places, personally if I pay more than 3 euros for on I consider it a theft.
@@StevetheBartender_ hi Steve. Great video, straight to the point super easy. 2 questions: shouldn't an espresso martini be double strained because of the coffee beans the espresso was made with? And on the aperol bottle it suggests a ratio of 1:1:1 for the spritz. Why do you use 3:2:1 instead?
One of the best videos I have seen. Beginner here, and thanks for making this really clear, simple, straightforward. Measurements, type of alcohol and suitable swamps, even a guide to how long to shake/stir for!
For the Margarita you can add 1 teaspoon / half an ounce of agave sirup (jarabe de agave) before shaking. It adds a bit of sweetness and makes a creamier foam. Its a variation used here in Mexico.

A new fan of yours. I so remember when I took my American Bartenders School final test way back in 1977 when I was 21, we also had to also make 10 drinks in 10 minutes. But we didn’t know which ones they were going to call out though. Also had to take a 50 question written test, half was recipes, the other half safety and sanitation questions, I passed and was a bartender for 8 years from 1977 to 1985 then I met my Husband at 29 and I didn’t feel comfortable being a bartender anymore, so many guys coming on to me when I worked, so I had to stop, not because he wanted me to, because by then I’ve just had it. I did not meet him where I worked at the time, our bar closed at 12 midnight, so for a night cap would go to the bar a block away till 2 am when they closed. The band there was awesome. He was the door man there and the rest is history. We have been together for over 35 years, married 27 years. I still like learning all the new drinks that you’ve shown me on here, combined with all those old standards I learned way back when which you have shown on here. Thank you for keeping it old school & new school. Do you have a Facebook profile? Mine is Anna Paul, I know more than one Anna Paul on Facebook, okay, I’m from sunny San Diego. Ca. I do have some dear friends who live in Hervey Bay in Australia. Thank you again. You have a great smile. Your new fan.
I've turned 21 a couple months ago and discovered your channel and am overwhelmed by all the possibilities. I'm not much of a drinker I've only had a small handful of different beers. Where would I even begin? I really enjoy your content, it's satisfying and extremely well edited!
We took your Negroni and substituted Aperol. It was pretty good, but seemed to be missing something. So we added about .5 ounce of Amaro Monte and we definitely prefer it to the traditional Negroni. When you taste it, it screams "Italian" ... and, that's a good thing!
Woww... I was looking for some easy recipes for my assignment on TH-cam. I love your smile. It makes me feel relaxed and comfy while watching your videos. Oh... Being a bartender is so cool... My god!!!!!!
I'm just a glassie working in Sydney CBD and I've only been at it for about 6 months (until coronavirus happened), but I'm so keen on working my way up to a bartender! Gonna try to make some of these while I'm stuck at home hahaha
I was thinking, "shit, now i have to see all the video again to take notes" but you gave us a link on the description. Thankyou very much, awesome video
This is such a nicely made video, think the TH-cam algorithm knocked it out of the park on this one. Wonder if the bartender’s ever heard to crack on egg on a flat surface rather than the rim? Keep up the nice work
Yeah - YT seems to really like this one!! Most of my videos are much shorter and the watch time on this video is still consistent. I have heard that it reduces the chance of egg shell in the drink cracking it on a flat surface but I don’t seem to have any hassles this way. Definitely wouldn’t recommend trying it on a tin - the thinner steel puts shell everywhere but fortunately the Boston glass has a ‘softer’ edge.
just came across your channel a few days ago...you have revived my love and passion for bartending!. I have already made a few drinks, working through some new recipes and expanding my liquor cabinet. great work, keep it up!!!

The smile whilst shaking or stirring is brilliant. It's hard to find your bartending swagger while doing those tasks. The customer doesn't always understand the importance.
I've used this video as reference this month for a few dinner parties. I am super impressed by the quality and simplicity of this video. Also, the smile and shake - adorable.
There are two bartender channels I watch. Steve and How to Drink. And I don’t drink alcohol. You may have done these in previous videos but could you mix a Harvey Wallbanger and a Salty Dog? Cheers!
Bro I watched your midori sour video from 2017 and you looked really stressed and tired. Glad to see you bringing positive energy now. Thanks for the cocktail recipes and hard work!
Ah yes, I think you are correct!! No accent so it should be pronounced koop... I've always pronounced it like that but don't know where it initially came from >_< I've been schooled!
@Steve the Bartender I was saying that the French do not use the accent for the cup (coupé is the word for the car). But if you say they say it like that where you're from, I'll take your word for it!
Yep! You are correct... I corrected my previous comment as I misread your initial comment.. I've always pronounced it like that and know others that do...but sounds like we are all incorrect >_
@@StevetheBartender_ Oh sorry I didn't see the edit before I replied! Anyway I've learned a ton from your videos, so I'm glad I could return the favor this once :)

Now in lockdown in London with my partner and making about 3 cocktails a day to keep ourselves entertained. i have a gentrified bogan cocktail shaker(Starbucks reusable cup) that seems to do the job :p glad i found this video
@@StevetheBartender_ Yes, within or separately (or both haha). For example, why choose one type of glass over another? Why do you stir ice with the stick vs. use the shaker? For the Manhattan you stirred it in a different kind of mixing glass. Why? :) I think having the knowledge behind these things makes it easier to remember when trying it at home. Thank you!!
Here in Italy they do spritz with aperol, with campari, Hugo and syrups, so if you want to have for a part some slightly different simple drinks you can get some proseco/champagne/sparkling wine, get a bottle of campari, aperol, some syrups and start mixing!

That smile is so infectious. Came for the cocktails; stayed for the smiles. Love from Nagaland, North-East India.
I've discovered this video today and I think is the best video I've ever seen for beginners... bravo! simple cocktails but extremely good
Why thank you Pablo! 🙏
The definition of a bloke.
The smile whilst shaking or stirring is brilliant. It's hard to find your bartending swagger while doing those tasks. The customer doesn't always understand the importance.
Excellent. I love that shaking smile (no homo).
Haha, I’ve developed it into a habit as I don’t know where to look for those 20 seconds!
@@StevetheBartender_ Steve's signature. Who drank all the cocktails?
I gave it a good crack and drank 7 or 8 of them before I had to head off 😆
HA GAYYYYYYY!!!!
I love that shaking smile. (no hetero) :P
That shaker spin you did at 7:45 had me rewinding that for like 10 minutes straight 😂pure magic🤙🏻
Haha, thanks - it's my only move!
Nice vid! Was expecting the Moscow mule. That is my favorite and its so easy to make! 😎
I don't get why so many of these vids make their Margaritas without agave syrup... if you're not gonna add that, might as well just do a tequila shot.
That smile he dose when he shakes the drinks, absolute rooster
🐓
"This onw is called the bees knees and as the name suggest its got" bees in it? "Honey in it"
Yes, I muddled a few bees into it... don't tell anyone.
🙊
I've used this video as reference this month for a few dinner parties. I am super impressed by the quality and simplicity of this video. Also, the smile and shake - adorable.
There are two bartender channels I watch. Steve and How to Drink. And I don’t drink alcohol.
You may have done these in previous videos but could you mix a Harvey Wallbanger and a Salty Dog? Cheers!
Bro I watched your midori sour video from 2017 and you looked really stressed and tired. Glad to see you bringing positive energy now. Thanks for the cocktail recipes and hard work!
Pardon my french, but I think it's coupe (koop) not coupé (koopay). Also great vid!

French subscriber here!
For the small tip, coupé means "cutted".
And you are right, the good translation of cup is "coupe" which we pronounce "koop"
Thanks so much. I enjoyed having them together in one shot.
- 5:56 Margarita
- 7:07 Daïquiri
- 8:18 Godfather
- 9:13 Manhattan
This info was already listed in the description :-)
Steve, I admire you for your knowledge and competence.
Great Video! Surprised you were able to decide on 10. I foresee you doing a second series as I predict this will be well received. These recipes are simple, not too expensive and as a bonus can be have differing flavour profiles by changing the brand or the aged of the spirit(s) used. (spiced rum in the daiquiri....)
Stephane Foisy wasn’t hard to decide as I was focussed on ease to recreate and what classics I like :-)
I agree - all a good base to start with! What would be your no. 1 out of these 10?
@@StevetheBartender_ That is a hard decision. After a long day anything build in glass is a go to, thus Manhattan, Negroni or Godfather.
Haha, hard to decide hey - that was 3! 😆👌🎉
@@StevetheBartender_ LOL could have been a longer list had yours included boulevardier, rusty nail, stinger, bentley, dark and stormy, and a few others.
A second one would be a great idea!
had a cocktail party a few weeks ago, stocked up the cupboard, the party wasn't very adventurous, mostly white Russians, old fashion's and long island ice teas. Now in lockdown in London with my partner and making about 3 cocktails a day to keep ourselves entertained. i have a gentrified bogan cocktail shaker(Starbucks reusable cup) that seems to do the job :p glad i found this video
Could you describe a little more the reason for doing certain things? Like how you decide the correct glass for each drink?
Within the video you mean? Sure! 👌
Thank you!!
Shaking that shaker is clearly the most loved thing in your life. That smile reactions a thing.
I’ve watched this in x2 speed and learned how to make 10 cocktails in 5 min. But tbh I already forget all of them so I’ll have to watch it again
Lol, it still stays true to its title then 😆😆😆
Manhattan is my go-to, and Old Fashioned. Going to make this Manhattan tomorrow before dinner. Thank you.
Favourite cocktail? That's easy it's an Old Fash.... Manhattan, it was the Manhattan :-D
Here in Italy they do spritz with aperol, with campari, Hugo and syrups, so if you want to have for a part some slightly different simple drinks you can get some proseco/champagne/sparkling wine, get a bottle of campari, aperol, some syrups and start mixing!
Wow 😍
I'm in love with that lovely smile 💕... So charming & full of life
All good wishes from India 🙏
Love the way u shake & the way u smile :D
