A pleasure to meet you, Mrs DBA. Romantic MRE for two is a total success. Some happy memories from the past came flooding back into my mind. When the wild grape leaves were at their peak, residents of our small New England town might catch a glimpse of two old geezers snipping the leaves along the roadsides. My Greek neighbor had a secret. After stuffing the leaves with his lamb & rice mix, the leaves were simmered to perfection in his homemade chicken stock. Nothing went to waste in his families restaurant and homemade chicken stock was the rule! Thank you for the video, and some great new ideas.

My dad had two bee hives when I was growing up so we rarely bought any sugar except for making cookies
Now he does maple syrup because they live in the woods near a river.
Somebody bought the land with all the trees and chopped them all down but the other neighbor that hunts my parents land is letting them use their maple trees which is nice because there is an old snowmobile trail down to the river my dad got permission to make a path to their path. Its nice because the guy has grandkids that want to learn how to make syrup.
I would absolutely love to have some land with maple trees. I would be all about learning how to do that. Thanks for sharing that!

I've seen several of your videos, then happened on this one (I may have been subscriber 15,001!) with D'elle. She is quite charming, possesses a beautiful smile, exhibits a pleasant fun attitude, can sing, and as commented below, "puts up with your antics." Blessings to both of you during travels and never-ending quest to find new and improved homemade MREs.
Thanks to your videos, I'm now aware of and capable of locating various items to put together an MRE. Items for example available at most larger supermarkets with the following to choose from: dry foods (dried blueberries, cherries, dates, etc.), packaged goods (flavored or plain rice or couscous, rice and beans and the like), canned or packaged meats (foil sealed flavored tuna, etc.), Copes dry corn (just add water, or the canned variety), puddings, applesauce, and various types of energy or similar snack bars (chocolate, peanut butter, fruit, Kelloggs's Nutri Grain, and Nature Valley granola bars, to name a few).
A previously unknown store, but one that has some interesting foods, is Ocean State Job Lot (opened less than a year ago near my home). They have garden and home items, and foods such as Indian cuisine, in addition to other foods (sort of like an Aldi's store).

Hickory smoked cheddar cheese, pepper jack cheese, processed sausage, beef jerky, cornichons, crackers or croutons, Dijon mustard, raisins, dried apricots, fig jam, chocolate, etc. Most of this can come from World Market and Trader Joe’s. Love the wifey 😘

May be you could have an MRE competition where you both make one without knowing the others content until you present them on the show. As for the charcuterie board MRE, you should be able to just pick it up and go at anytime and that means the board must be included in the bag. That show should be very enjoyable to see. Had a great time watching, thanks from California ...where we just may really have the need for MRE 'S..LOL

Congrats on 15k! Because I make most of my own cold weather rations, bulk food stores are the best. Local to me is Bulk Barn. As for the charcuterie board, dried salami, pepperoni, maybe prosciutto and canned pate. Dried fruit and nuts. There are a number of shelf stable cheeses that backpackers take, I get mine on Amazon. They are all hard cheeses so include a vegetable peeler in the kit to shave the cheese.

Congrats on 15000! I enjoyed meeting the other half and this was a fun video. Yes, please do an MRE charcuterie! Along with the usual nuts and crackers, I would add dried/freeze dried/canned fruit, those packages of sliced pepperoni from Dollar Tree, canned deviled ham, vienna sausages, maybe even canned caviar! As for cheese (and I think this would follow the rules?) I would get some Cougar Gold cheese from Washington State University Creamery. It's canned and it's delicious! I love a charcuterie of any kind, any time of day. We just call it Snacky Snack Dinner. :)

You two are adorable together. Congratulations, you are a lucky guy to have a spouse who supports your eccentricities (and brings her own). There are some really great ideas in this MRE to get "out of the box". Will have to try some of these.
The MRE charcuterie board has some ideas that are ready-made. There are lots of prepackaged summer sausages and cheeses that don't require refrigeration (Hickory Farms comes to mind, but there are probably some better ones out there.) I'm aware of some retort packaged smoked salmon. I've even seen olives and pickles in retort pouches. Add an assortment of nuts and dried fruits and crackers and fancy mustard. This should be an interesting challenge. Looking forward to seeing it.
And congratulations on 15K subscribers! Yes, you wouldn't have a channel without the audience, but the audience wouldn't be here if you didn't have great content.

There kind of is an MRE charcuterie that people buy a lot around Christmas. Those Swiss Colony gift baskets with meats, cheeses, candies, little mustards and jellies. Might not be the best options but a nice potential place to source some items.

For the charcuterie board, there are dehydrated cheeses out there, one called "Moon Cheese" comes to mind, but you can sometimes find other brands with smaller bits meant for salads by the croutons in a grocery store. You could also include individual pickles packed in a plastic pouch and maybe some vienna sausages. Maybe a cut up slim jim or biltong (not sure the shelf life of that).

MRE charcuterie: summer sausage, canned cheese, higher end canned ham, tin of butter cookies, chocolate, stuffed olives, melba toast, pepperoni, dry fruit, jar of almonds, stuffed grape leaves... that's off the top of my head. You can do it.

I think it would be fun to put together a CRE- charcutier- ready to eat. 😁 It's not all that out there!! Endless possibilities.
Good ole cheese and crackers is my go-to "meal" under a variety of circumstances. I work a physical labor job so breaks arent a thing. I usually take bites as I need them, and most often on my drive. So I almost always have a zip lock bag with crackers, cheese, sausage stick, peanut butter, nuts. Stufd that is easy to eat yet gives me some options, flavors and mouth feel. Sometimes a little potted meat of some sort, or other spread. Then usually add to it by having some sliced fruit. I can pick at it all day or just curl up somewhere chow down. Also my go to when I dont feel like cooking. I go feral when my husband goes out of town, so stuff like this is my usual fodder.
Super wide variety of options that would just work so well. Kinda think it would be perfect for camping, hiking, emergency, road trips, random picnic, work day food, or lazy night meal. Then it would be just cute to have it bagged up ready to go.
Love Dolmades. I like to lightly warm them to emulsify the oil. But cold from can is good too.

I was delightfully surprised at your choice in enchanting spouses my good fellow. I was expecting something different, like a woman more into MRE's and prepping sort of thing. Your pairing reminds me of my wife and I. I'm an all black wearing metal head, outdoors and survival enthusiast and she's a loveable dork who reads a lot and listens to Taylor Swift *blegh*, kind of polar opposites but have our own shared crazy thing going that makes us happy.

I reckon the channel growth will be exponential. Your videos on the subject of MRE's (I really need to go back and watch the oldies too) are as good a quality as any others out there with far more subs.
I'd almost have advised against having your lovely wife on the channel because people are trolls and dicks so often however her being in the public eye anyway gives you that option in that she'd know what she's in for on TH-cam, which is a great thing.
