Question I have a d17 a2 should I start by tightening up the ends first like the 4 corners? And start my way in,

just did this on my 03 civic, was the RTV necessary or as an extra precaution? some videos people put it on, some dont.... same with the valve cover gasket, some put the RTV on, some dont. i just dont want mine to leak and have to repeat the process. thanks

I always follow the manufacturers procedure. The reason you put rtv especially on the valve cover gasket is because beneath that there are two pieces coming together making an uneven surface, and you don’t want oil to escape.

when you say scotch brite, are you referring to a steel wool product or just a green scrubber

I'm sure you could use steel wool, I use the red pads but green should be fine as well
