Man, I've been learning to make guitar pedals on my own and see things like this and realize how far I still have to go. Then I hear Andy's playing and again realize how far I have to go with my playing as well. Love this channel and hope someday to have Andy rip on one of my pedals. Cheers! Keep making amazing content, sir!!!
I just found out about you and I’m new to Guitar pedals and amps. I’ve watched a lot of videos from years past and you haven’t missed a beat. You are still doing the top notch presentation of gear with the passion and skill that made you well known. Some things don’t change. I look forward to all your videos.
The manual says 10-20K ohm Exp pedals with the tip of the 1/4” TRS jack going to the wiper. It could be that to need to switch polarity on your Exp pedal if it’s not working. I usually use a cheap M-Audio. Good luck!
Hey Andy nice demo. Is it just me, or do these give you somewhat of a pinched, nasally high end? Seemed almost like an unintended compression. At first I thought it might just be the sound of the Reverend, but then the Tele had a bit of it too to my ears. I kinda wonder if I heard it more with the delay in use. I own a Synesthesia, which sounds great to me overall.
How would you compare its tape mode to an El Cap? Because if i can get just much features as el cap but with way more delay modes like dig and analog for only $200 then orca is a no brainer
That’s a great question! Both companies will have a similar tape delay sound (wow&flutter etc) but their algorithms will no doubt be unique. They both do stereo, tap and exp but Strymon also has a bit more under the hood with their secondary parameters including spring reverb and multi-head tape. This goes for any similar pedal decision: It’s all about what features are most important to you and what your budget is. Thanks!

Andy really can brings out all the things that this pedal can do... 💯
That intro piece is wildly good!!
Yeah Alex, I also though the Intro was Exceptional. GFI is making some very Impressive gear.

Thanks so much, Dylan! I’m glad you’ve found the vids helpful ✌️
Woah !! I'm blown away by that intro!! Stellar playing as always !!👍
Thanks so much!
Mermen!
Sounds darn good and controlls seems very convinient. On many pedals like that, Im pretty confused, but here it all looks very "hands on".
Yes, I agree! Secondary controls are usually hard to remember but that's not the case here since the LCD tells you what's being adjusted.
Andy is the GOAT of pedal demos!
I always enjoy your inspirational demos Andy. Cool sounding pedals.
The new Reverend is sounding gooood
It was about time I got some Tron-type pickups in the mix! I really use the bass contour quite a bit with them.
Now, thats a delay and a reverb for modern players, Universal Audio you can learn a little here.
And half the price 👏👏👏
Whoah, from 12:51 onwards is what I'd call a freaking monstrous tone.
Is this the tempus broken into two?
Intro tune whoa 👊🏻
Ennio Morricone vibes 👊
Reminded me of the Mermen. Check ‘em out if you haven’t heard of them!
Soooo good, as always. Those are fantastic sounding too.
Dyno mite - Yeah - good job Andy - luv it
Great demo Andy
Great into Andy!
$200 each, seems pretty good!
Hi Andy, bought an Orca. Totally sold with your demo. But how do i adjust heel ramping? i can only do toe adjustment. And what is “SumMono”?
Those Black Bobbin pickups sounding real good
Really chiming now 👍🏻
Anyone else here that cant stop buying pedals?😂
G.A.S is real man 😭
Cuál es el pedal de expresión compatible para el skayler por favor dime porque ya busqué varios y ninguno le queda

I’m just here for the new Rev.
I’m really enjoying those new RB pickups, especially the twang with both selected!
OK OK. You can be in my band. You gotta move to Kalamazoo though.
Awesome intro.
Amazing!
Amazing!!! 👏👏👏
Excellent
wow! really cool

That #dadgadlife right? Jazzy sounds LUSH

StewMac! Representing my homeland of Athens County
Great demo. Can the ramp function on the Skylar be used an an infinite hold?
Brilliant pedal. but no MIDI??? It won't work for me unfortunately.
Intro reminded me of This Will Destroy You. Post-rock shoegazey goodness.
Price???
$199
@@jozzh___ thanks!!
I was trying to check out their site but it says unsecure connection? Cool pedals though. Thanks for the review Andy. (edit: Site is working again)
Probably just normal maintenance, I was on it yesterday and it was ok. Perhaps check in a few hours.
I don't think these two pedals would bump off any of my delay or reverb pedals.
So no midi 🥺
And I JUST bought an RV-6 and DD-200
both amazing pedals
Andy's got the toughest fingernails in the biz the way he plays 😆
Shut up and take my money ! ! ! getting these two and the Microcosm by Hologram in June, strange thing will be happening, LOL !
That’s going to be a sweet combination! Working on the Microcosm demo shortly 👊
GFi made in indonesian, good quality effect
GFI Made Indonesian🤔
Use your ears, not your Xenophobia, to decide on pedals. IMHO
It's not a mass produced Indonesian off-shore product, it's an actual small boutique company.
