    Good demo Andy as always 😊 another effect I don’t need but now I feel like I need it! Every time I hear a filter effect though I can’t help thinking of the UK kids 70/80s tv show “Grange Hill”… funky!

    Groovy pedal, not pricy at all for the smooth rich tones. I like how it gets that synth-like trumpet sound, best I’ve heard

    Just picked up one of these. Compared to the Earthquaker Special Delivery, Mr. Black Fwonkbeta just to name a couple this one blew it out of the water.

      Same here. I almost got a DOD reissue. The Universe just gave me an answer with this one, worth the price, so far best I’ve heard. For near the price of a custom wah

      I just bought a Source Audio PolyMod. Discontinued, but I love its feature set and the fact that all the parameters can be accessed on the pedal (except sensitivity, which is auto detected from what I can tell).
      Worth checking out the Source Audio Spectrum as well. It's the updated version and is smaller and sounds amazing if you don't mind getting into the software editor for more parameters.

    For $199, the guitar signal had best remain analog. The mix knob is an essential feature on most any modern pedal design. Great demo.

    I mean, GFI is cool and this demo is good but you cant beat the SA Spectrum or the C4 for filter application. I mention the C4 because it essentially can use all Spectrum Presets in the Neuro hub so its basically a 2 in 1 for insane value. A synth pedal + filter.

    • @jojojiles
      @jojojiles 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you likewise use all the C4 presets with the Spectrum?

    Powerful pedal, but I have to say I was rather disappointed to go through the manual and find that attack and decay times could not be adjusted. I've always found that the time taken to sweep in each direction is critical for matching the feel of the sweep to the feel of the song.

    • @levijessegonzalez3629
      @levijessegonzalez3629 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      damn really? have you found a better filter pedal since the time of writing this comment?

    • @markhammer643
      @markhammer643 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@levijessegonzalez3629 Again, a very powerful pedal, with some nice sounds, and the display makes it more user-friendly. I've been a fan and user/owner/builder of a variety of envelope-controlled filters since the late 1970s, and one of the things I've found over the past 45 years is that it's not *just* the tone of the filter that nudges one to use it, but also whether the *feel* meshes with the phrasing and metre of the tune. My favorite, for many years, was the original MXR Envelope Filter, precisely *because* it has variable Attack time. When I make filter pedals for myself, I at least include variable Decay (simpler to implement), and sometimes both Attack and Decay. Though I haven't used them, I was pleased when I saw EHX included Attack and Decay parameters for their Riddle and Enigma filter pedals.

    • @levijessegonzalez3629
      @levijessegonzalez3629 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@markhammer643 very interesting! do you offer any pedals for sale?
      What would you say would be the most comprehensive filter pedal on the market today? Is the Qtron+ better than the Riddle Q ball?

    • @markhammer643
      @markhammer643 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@levijessegonzalez3629 I do occasionally, but prefer to keep things local, rather than have the nuisance of packaging and shipping. Local also means I can do repairs easily, or any mods the buyer would like. It's more of a "craft-hobby" not a business.
      One of the first filter pedals I ever owned was a Fernandes Funky Filter, which was a licensed clone of the Mu-Tron III. It had, like the Q-Tron/Mu-Tron, lots of interesting sounds, but the feel/attack was too quick to mesh with many songs. I doubt I could make a specific recommendation, given just how many pedals are out there. This GFI unit could be a real contender if they updated the firmware to provide variable attack and decay.

    Why are there no videos of people using this with bass? I see you using but it’s still suspicious. Are there issues?

    • @AndyDemos
      @AndyDemos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perhaps because previous GFI pedals have been geared towards guitarists. No issues though, plays great with either thanks to the dry blend and various filter ranges. Thanks!
