About this breathing exercise: This exercise is based on 4 seconds in through your nose, then 8 seconds out through your nose. Contracting your throat muscles will help you slow down the rate at which the air flows through your throat.
Slow breathing, especially through your nose helps lower stress and improve your immune system, Breathing exercises can also strengthen your respiratory system overall.

Greetings, is there a book or manual that explains the various breathing techniques, that also explains what they are to accomplish? As a novice, I wonder the difference between why some techniques call for a pause, while others call for a steady rhythm. The consensus seems to say in through the mouth but there have been more than a few talks that say otherwise. If stressed out, is box breathing better than the 4-7-8 method or...thanks, by now you understand. Shalom. Anyone reading thus far may feel free to recommend as well.

    Beautiful video. Question:
Is there a way to make this exercise a little easier? I can keep up with the breathing but the pause between breathing in and out seems almost too long.

Hello Leopoldo, you could try changing the speed in the youtube settings and see if that helps, you may want to try some Buteyko breathwork so help with your pauses and get you more adapted to holds overall, check this video out...th-cam.com/video/v_g2gFqfUV8/w-d-xo.html

I have difficulty breathing out my nose for 8 seconds. It can only do about 3-4 but I am sick maybe with COVID not sure but even without it I struggle to do so , maybe cuz of allergies?

Can you do a version without the voice? It gets really repetitive
