I carried the P229 DAO in .40 S&W for many years as a plainclothes duty weapon. Had I the option, I would've carried the P226 DAO .40 S&W for the better (for me) balance.

Thank you for your service. I have only fired the DA/SA models. How is the trigger on the DAO models?

@@DoubleEagleGunworks I liked the DAO, it was heavier than the single action but pretty much like a good double action revolver, so no real transition on the trigger. Prior to that, when we first optionally switched from revolvers, I carried a P220 and a S&W 645, both DA/SA until we had to standardize on DAO 40 S&Ws several years later. It was a sad day, but I do like the .40 S&W. I still have them all, but they're retired, aside from a once in a while range trip. I'm currently working on a P227 project that has no rail and both the 3.9" and 4.4" slides. I prefer the longer side, which sorta prompted my response to your interesting video. The key for carry comfort is a good belt and holster.

@@jb6027 Thanks for the info. I agree with you on the belt and holster. They make all the difference in the world.

@@DoubleEagleGunworks The safety issue was when you left one in the mag with trigger cocked and began talking to the camera. Not saying you were distracted but that is the kind of behavior that can lead to distraction.
