13:57 this is a great showcase of one of my least favorite random battle interactions. On this turn, Hatterene acted before Torkoal under Trick Room. This is bizarre, and in fact Torkoal is specifically known for being extremely slow to purposely underspeed powerful Trick Room threats like Hatterene. Hatterene's base speed is 29, while Torkoal's base speed is 20. Yet Hatterene moved first - why is this? Pokemon in Random Battles have fixed EV investment, so for the most part, everything has stats relative to their base stats. (it isn't the Level Gap by the way - the extra two levels Torkoal has over Hatterene don't close that gap) The answer is that Hatterene has a 0 Speed IV. This makes it slower than Torkoal, and thus faster than Torkoal under Trick Room. The next question to ask then is why Hatterene had 0 Speed IVs. This is because Freezai's Hatterene has the move Trick Room - in optimizing this set, it was given a 0 Speed IV to be as slow as possible. That exception to pokemon having fixed EVs applies here as well, and instead of having 85 speed EVs, it has 0. Torkoal, on the other hand, has its speed calculated the same as normal. From this information, we can deduce that Freezai's opponent made a mistake. But the actual content of that mistake is hazy because the opponent didn't see Hatterene use Trick Room - Bronzong used the move before Hatterene switched in. If you use the Random Battle Extension as Freezai does, you'll see that Hatterene sets will *always* know Trick Room, and if you know about Random Battle stat generation, you know that it will in turn *always* have this optimally lowered speed stat. - And if you're even more precise with research you'll be able to know that all such bulky attacking sets will be guaranteed to have Trick Room if possible, regardless of Pokemon - they'll only have higher speed if they have a pure support set, which Hatterene can't have. (Which itself is a shame? A magic bounce pokemon with Life Dew and Nuzzle would probably be pretty excellent) That's a whole lot of ways to prove the speed tiers at play before making a move, true. But it's also a pain that even the random battle extensions here won't just directly give players this piece of completely unambiguous information. Hatterene's speed stat is a completely static piece of information in Random Doubles, it is 100% a known factor due to Hatterene's existing sets and the set generation rules, and yet it still displays as a range. That's true of most stats in random battles, but with speed it's especially annoying considering how important it is to know the precise speed stat of opponents.
TLDR; Torkoal is slower than Hatterene, but Hatterene still moves first. Because instead of the normal Ranbats EV Spread, Hatterene gets the specialized 0 Speed IV Trick Room Attacker set. Unless you're really into the game mechanics and research, regular players will hardly notices the difference.
Yea randdubs doesnt rlly have the same competition as singles. Combined with a lot of mus being deternined from lead mus its not as hard to reach #1 on ladder in dubs as singles
Regigigas Unleashed is fun, but I always thought Regigigas Generations and Regigigas 3 & Knuckles were better.
Regigigas Frontiers is great too
I have a soft spot for Regigigas Lost World, but I am a Regice Galaxy 1 and Regice Galaxy 2 fan, and I liked the crossover with The Legend of Zekrom.
Everybody knows regigigas sunshine is the best game in the series
what about regigigas '06?
Regigigas 3 & Weezing
"why does everything get intimidate" - every VGC player ever

Shiny Phione on the field to start is crazy
Lord Regigigas bringing freezai to 1800s in doubles after single-handedly clutching him to rank 1 on singles… love to see it
When did he bring him to rank 1? I want to see that!
@@MarceloKatayama in the last video of his road to rank 1 randbats video
You could have used protect while your Regigigas was behind sub so there was no chance it would be t-waved in the next turns
