I saw a Games Radar article in my newsfeed about how someone collected every rock and I was like "That's insane! Who would do that?". Now it's all adding up
For the people wondering why the spherical boulders are considered to be natural. If a rock is in a stream or river, the rock gets gradually ground down to a point where it is round. At that point it can roll with the current and erode from another side, causing the rock to get rounder and repeat the process.
@@scottishcheese13Yes, but those basalt platforms can occur naturally, provided there’s a place where lava and water meet- he recreated the conditions that lead to the rocks, but didn’t refine or carve them further in any way. I feel like it counts, or close enough, anyway
Bro, speed runners have no fun. You’ve 100%ed the game, you collected all the rocks. What’s left for you to do now, touch every single solid surface area including ones inside out of bounce area in the game?
It would require someone to create a mod that changes rocks despawn properties or how active objects work, and a beefy pc I think. He probably has the pc though.
It's videos like this that help remind my that Tears of the Kingdom is one of the most insane games Nintendo has released, maybe ever. Like, there's an entire map, with 3 different tiers of world to explore, endless quests to complete, and a story mode, which already makes it one of Nintendo's biggest games ever. And then, there's just straight up G-Mod attached to all of it, so you can basically do anything you want on top of all of that.
This is perhaps the most in-character challenge for link yet. I can't imagine a timeline in which link would ACTUALLY get rid of the sheikah slate, for example, but I COULD see TotK!Link, in the middle of his quest, go "Hang on. I should make a vehicle out of every rock I can find."
In some universes Link is a physics breaking speedster who wakes up and stops 2 ancient tragedies in a couple hours each, in others he's a perfectionist who spends years on end not helping anybody and quite literally wasting his own time purely to say he did it.
I know it’s not the main focus of your comment but I don’t think Link got rid of the sheikah slate, he probably just. Gave it back to Zelda. Because it was hers, and Zelda probably gave it to Purah who used it to figure out how to make the Purah Pad (and even then there’s a couple reasons why it just isn’t as cool, such as Purah can’t figure out how to replicate those features yet, Zelda didn’t want those features on her Purah pad, they’re not on there because it’s a prototype, or the most agreed upon reasoning as to why nearly all of the sheikah tech was stripped from Hyrule, Sheikah tech is seen as Evil And Bad Again and at least magnesis is used by the Yiga so it does extend to the slate’s abilities)

Regular Rock Roast DOES in fact exist (It replaces the marbled variant), in fact, it is used in a questline and I believe later can be given to the chef for money.. or something? it's been awhile since I played.
Most speedrunners already played the game slowly at least once before speedrunning. It's what makes them realise they like the game enough to run it in the first place
I hate that mentality of thinking that speedrunning is killing the fun since speedrunning is what makes a lot of games fun for me. Finding unintentional skips and doing things quickly makes me happy, and a lot of people don't seem to understand that. What you did wasn't even really speedrunning when you first 100% TOTK, but the same things apply.

There are lots of challenge runs(if a little less than botw), and of course the infamous straight line challenge, but other than that I agree that there is significantly less totk content these days.
Personally I just can't 100% the game. In BotW you could accomplish things just playing 15-30 minutes. In TotK I can play for 2 hours without feeling like I accomplished anything. I did everything in BotW other than collecting all Koroks (still collected enough to max out all inventory slots), but in TotK I'm only like 50% done with shrines and even less with everything else and I don't really feel like playing it. It's not like it's bad, but it just takes so long. I can play it for 2 hours and barely make any progress or play something else for 2 hours and actually do make significant progress.
Honestly love to see people come together to do something fun out of spite. Because at some point, spite becomes irrelevant, things are fun because we decide to make them so and just enjoy ourselves. People who are like that are the best to be around. You might even say they rock!
