Jordan, what a wonderful blog about a wonderful man! I met Patrick when I was about 12-13 while I was in the 6th grade in 1985. My teacher took us on a field trip to see the filming of the North and South miniseries in Charleston, SC, at the Dock Street Theater. My class stood across the road from the theater to watch the filming. In between takes, Patrick saw my class standing and he came over to us and talked to all of us. We asked him questions and he gave us all autographs. He was so personable and so nice. He genuinely cared and showed his true demeanor to the man he truly was. I will always cherish that moment. Patrick was a great man and so wonderful and I am so honored to have met him and talked with him.
Oh wow, you were so lucky to have met him. I loved watching North & South, and then seeing his career since then. He was a great actor and dancer. He fought so much adversity in his life, and then to be taken by that horrible disease, just is not fair. I am sure he would have blessed us with so much more. He fought the good fight, even filming right up until the end, says it all about him. My favourite was N&S, Ghost and Dirty Dancing. He will never be forgotten!
I was blessed to meet Patrick Swayze in person in NY. I was a photo editor at TV Guide st the time and the Hallmark Channel was one of the networks I was responsible for. Patrick had just done a movie for Hallmark & I got an invitation for the movie. Not only did I meet Patrick but I met his wife Lisa and his brother. I told Patrick how much his performance in "Ghost" brought me to tears because my Dad had died suddenly from a heart attack the month before. As I'm telling Patrick all this, tears welled up in his eyes. His father had died suddenly from a heart attack, too. Patrick was so nice. I will NEVER forget meeting & talking to him. ❤
Talking about someone paying their dues. He deserved everything that he had. So sad that his dad didn't get to enjoy any of it. RIP Patrick. Thanks and God bless.
He appeared to be an incredible man and a great actor. My heart breaks for Lisa. I always try to remember when I lose loved ones, it’s better to have loved and lost, than never loved at all....
Patrick, was a great person. I met him when he did the movie The Outsiders. I was a person who sign a petition to have it to become a movie. Great video about Patrick Swayze..
My cousins attended Waltrip High School in Houston with Patrick Swayze. My Aunt knew Patsy Swayze. Everyone in Houston knew Patsy. Patrick lived three miles from my house in Lake View Terrace. My husband met him shortly before he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Just wish my husband would have gotten his autograph for me. I wanted to meet him. He was a true Texan gentleman. Very down to earth. Very nice very polite. He loved his fans loyalty.
A friend of mine knew his next door neighbors and he would go over to their house and hang out with them. They said he was one of the nicest people you’d ever meet.
Jordan you are a gift to those of us outside of the LA seen. I lived in the LA in the 80s and just want to say THANK YOU for all your hard word to tell many of LA ’s compelling stories. You are an EXCELENTE story teller and I believe I am beginning to see what Shelly saw in you. You are special, and should not give up on acting. You have a unique ability to communicate, don't deny your gift my friend!
I always idolized Patrick Swayze. It turned out that we were born within a couple of months of each other, and he lived a couple of streets over from me in the Oak Forest neighborhood of Houston. My family moved to another neighborhood when I was 3; otherwise, Patrick and I would have gone to elementary, middle school, and high school together. Anyway, a wonderful video about a great man. Thank you, Jordan.
Though I was a fan of his movies, my favorite memory is him performing alongside Chris Farley on SNL competing as a Chippendale dancer. Awesome vlog and sounded like a great guy
Always loved him and everything he overcame in his life. Always so inspiring and as a BTTF fan I really loved his love for his DeLorean, too! ;) The "I Am Patrick Swayze" documentary was wonderful. His brother's telling of his final moments.. God bless.
Great vlog. Thank you for covering Patrick. I loved watching him dance. He was so powerful and yet graceful at the same time. He didn't get along well with Jennifer Grey when they were working on Dirty Dancing. She was known to get on Patrick's nerves at times. I was heartbroken when I learned that Patrick had Pancreatic cancer. It was so hard to watch this beautiful, graceful man die before our eyes. We lost someone special when Patrick died. I hope Patrick is resting in peace. I miss you Patrick and life is a little less bright without you in in. Thanks for doing one of your lovely vlogs on Patrick. Stay safe and take care.
Thank you, Jordan for telling the story of Patrick Swayze’s life. I knew a little bit about his life but not much. There’s so much I didn’t know about his life. Every time life gave him lemons he made a lot of lemonade. Didn’t really know much at all about his parents. He had a whole lot of interests . He had a very balanced life. Thank you for showing the places where he lived. He was hard watching the toll his cancer had on him. His brother Don looks just like Patrick. Enjoy watching Jah in the park. You always do a great job at telling peoples stories. I learn a lot from you. Appreciate all the hard work time and effort you put into your vlogs. God bless you in all you do and keep you safe everywhere you go.
A friend of mine met Patrick when he was working in the West End in London, England. She said he was a absolute gentleman. He was a very sincere & caring man.
I still miss Patrick Swayze and very talented. May he Rest in Peace. He was a good actor. But my favorites will always be Dirty Dancing and Ghost. This was a very good vlog and I enjoyed hearing about his childhood and his early years. As usual you did a great job. Thank you
Hi Jordan from Athens, Greece. Thank you so much for doing this blog of Patrick Swayze, you are a Peach! I read that the resort, where they filmed Dirty Dancing, at "Mountain Lake Lodge" in Virginia still honors the movie, in fact, they have a "Dirty Dancing Themed Weekend package", where you can learn some of the dances. They also have a stone memorial in honor of Patrick Swayze, R.I.P.
Thank you for profiling our hometown boy Patrick Swayze- he’s from the same part of Houston I’m from. Our pediatrician who kept in contact with him and was close friends with his family just died in August. He had his autograph and my mom was good friends with him and worked as his nurse for a while and got to see it ... Such a great guy who never forgot his roots. He was a party guy at Waltrip high school and they called him crazy Swayze my youth leader who knew him once told me. Our Dr. told us he complained about dancing at his mamas studio but he once told him it got him to where he was he can’t complain much anymore lol
Patrick was my all time favorite actor!!! You’ve done him Justice!!! Be proud of this Vlog. And I agree with you his book is a must read!! I miss you Patrick Swayze 🙏🏻❤️
'Roadhouse', 'Dirty Dancing' and 'Ghost' are three of my most favorite movies. I was so hoping they would do a sequel to 'Dirty Dancing' but it was never meant to be. I still watch them every time they are shown. May he RIP.
Wow.... that was an amazing, but sad story. I never knew all of this about him. I love Patrick Swayze ! He was an awesome actor. My husband looks a little bit like him, but my 5 year old grandson looks exactly like Patrick Swayze. Thank you Jordan for sharing all of this about him with us !! I love it...!! ❤
Patrick Swayze has always been one of my favorite actors! You did such an amazing job in your vlog telling about his life! Including all of the ups and downs. Definitely gone way too young!! ❤️
Jordan, you did him justice! He was "good people"! Gone far too soon from a dreaded disease. He fought the good fight and left us all a wonderful body of work and example! Thank you, Jordan.
This was a great video on Patrick Swayze, he was one of my favorite actors. Ghost was one of my favorites. Thank you for doing a nice video on him. Mary also read that book and thought it was great. He fought for his life right to the end.
Total Alpha male ! Loved Patrick as a actor and a man. When he died it was the first time in my adult life that I thought about age , once you start seeing the people you are fans of as a kid dying it evokes that feeling of how quick time flies.
I worked for his brother in law who was a remodel contractor. He always said that Patrick was a really good guy. we were supposed to build a post and beam barn for Patrick but it never came through while I was working for the brother in law. I enjoy your web site! you visit a lot of cool local places. Thanks.
i REALLY LIKE Patrick Swayze, he was a good actor and seemed really nice down to earth guy. So young to pass away, I cant believe its been 11 years, Wonderful tribute Jordan well done
Hey Jordan, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Patrick and his family. Patrick has been a favourite of mine since I was a little kid, and it’s really nice to see someone do a vlog on him. Thanks again x
Thank You for making this vlog, Jordan. I have long been a Patrick Swayze fan since I saw him in the TV mini series North and South and continued to love him in his many iconic roles. Him playing a Drag Queen in To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar was totally a off the wall change for him , but I just loved him in that role and the film. It really stands out to me as him proving he was a actor. It was heartbreaking to learn he had passed and like many I had hoped he would win his cancer battle. It was great getting to know more about his life. Patrick's success , many great films and performances surely would have made Buddy proud like that DeLorean did. They will always be there for us fans who love and miss him to remember him .
Lately I've been watching your older videos. Patrick Swayze was a great actor who is still missed to this day. I remember going see Dirty Dancing when it came out.
Jordan - Thank you for this video. I never knew about some of his other aspirations. It says a lot about his character that he didn't let those early set backs get him down. He just changed/adjusted his goals. I don't know if I could be that resilient. I've always had a lot of respect for him as an artist and now even more as a human being. Thank you Jordan. Blessings - Judith 🎵🎭
Thank You for your vlog, I am new to yours but am enjoying them all immensely. This one is so informative and interesting, certain things I was not aware of, but gives us a real glimpse into the man he was, and how he fought through all the adversities and carried on. He was obviously gorgeous, not just on the outside (swoon :), but on the inside too. His dancing was something else. I am so glad he danced with his wife on stage, that is a memory she will surely treasure. He has surely left his legacy in the films he made, and that was his calling in the end. Looking forward to watching more vlogs, well done Jordan!
Your vlog is better than most of the "documentaries" about Patrick Swayze. I grew up in Houston in the same neighborhood as the Swayze's . Patrick( was a few years older), I was in class with his younger brother Donnie. Donnie used to shoot spit wads at me in English class to get my attention ,when I needed to "move over enough) so he could see my paper. LOL We all went to Waltrip High School in Oak Forest, suburb of Houston . Shelly Duvall, who played Olive Oil In Popeye, also went to Waltrip( her brother,Stewart, was my age). Most of my childhood friends attended dance class with Patsy, when we were seven and eight. I'm pretty sure the entire Swayze clan would have loved being friends with you Jordan. Thanks for all the great work you do.
Another great masterpiece!!! Jordan, you have produced one masterpiece after another! I can hardly wait to see the next one. Shelly Winters was so insightful in your talents and knew that you were on the road to success!
This was such an absolutely special, interesting, happy and sad vlog, all combined. I’ll be checking out his book. You covered everything, Jordan. Thanks!
@Daze with Jordan the Lion Boy this was amazing, it made me cry . Really loved his spirit and heart. I followed his career for a very long time .His body of work was truly inspirational. Outsiders was one of my favorite films. I had read the book. I enjoyed all his films to be honest. It was such a tragedy he lost his life so soon. I was so impressed with this vlog. You just keep getting better if that's even possible. Much love and thank you for YOUR body of work. 🙂
This is such a heartfelt video filled with bittersweet memories Patrick was such a sweet man I'm so happy that he had a great relationship with his father and mother seemed like a great family I miss Patrick so much r.i.p Patrick and his mom and dad
Jordan, you did this Vlog serious Justice! Patrick Swayze was an Icon in his own right. My mom still has her Patrick Swayze poster with Patrick in overalls with one side un-buttoned. I guess that was sexy in the 80's. When Swayze died she put the huge poster in a frame and hung it up in her sewing room and cried for a week, its still on the wall😔 😔 😔 . Patrick was her "Teen Heart-throb" and Dirty Dancing is her Favorite movie.
Hi Jordan, well I could see the Jahster was getting himself all psyched up for the dog park. Loved the story of how the bullies got beat up, like the old saying goes 'you reap what you sow'! What sad stories at his parents graveside and another great actor who died far too soon. Great vlog Jordan.
Thank you so much for this piece on Patrick Swayze. I loved him in Ghost, but his dancing in Dirty Dancing was amazing. I think I saw that movie in a cinema at least three times. 'Nobody puts Baby down'. Love your vlogs. Love old Hollywood, and man, you have taught me a lot about the 'golden' days of Hollywood.
Don't forget about the miniseries North and South!!! I loved him as Orry Maine! I just watched the whole series on the Hoopla site attached to my library card.
Great vlog on Patrick Swayze. He was always open & honest in his interviews and was very frank and protective of how Hollywood would be allowed to use him so as not to be used or abused by “Hollywood”. Sorry his life was cut short here on earth. ❤️🙏🏻Nice to see the Jahster up & about. That toothy grin is precious ❣️
His car is Now in a Privet Collection. That I used to Detail for. I knew the car when I saw it. The Collector says a few times he seen his ghost in the car.
Are you still detailing cars? His car wasn't an Aston Martin DB5, I'm presuming. When I lived in Hollywood in the 80's, one of the guys that I shared a house with, started his own car detailing business in Beverly Hills. He just passed out cards putting them on mailboxes, and said he didn't get his best customer until a year later. He inspired me to start my own pool service business in the same area.
James bond 007 , lisa only sold the car a few years ago is that right ? Good of her to keep it and ive heard Patrick would drive the car to the studios up until 2000 ..
Jordan, you are so good at doing these and I always enjoy watching. I love that you include that handsome little boy Jah. Thank You for all that you do. ❤
My second visit to this vlog. I did actually buy the audio book by Patrick and his wife, Incredible stuff. I was devastated when I learned Patrick had cancer. In many ways he was great and talented individual. RIP Patrick Swayze.
My parents met him at a horse competition and my mom got a hug 😀 edit got a hug because she asked for an autograph and he said he didn’t give autographs but gave hugs.
Great tribute to a great actor and the struggles that he had along the way just shows that if you keep pushing you will get there and never give up on your dreams great vlog the good ones always die young
Wow Jordan...I loved Patrick Swayze as an actor and was devastated when he died. I bought the book when it came out! Thank you so much for bringing back these memories...even though some were sad. I love your channel!!!
What an amazing man and actor he was ,dirty dancing is my all time favourite film has been since I first saw it when it came out, he was an awesome dancer his relationship with his wife was beautiful so many wonderful years together.

When his dad died he was working on the movie ghost. So sad he had a hard time with the movie they said.
I usually wait till later in the day to watch the vlog, but I'm glad I watched it early.. Dirty Dancing was a huge thing in my life due to my Mother and Sister, they were Dancers..I needed this, thanks
Fantastic video! I have always enjoyed Patrick and his life journey. I’ve watched the Barbra Walters special with him and his wife. What a fascinating guy! He also if I’m not mistaken came up with the song She’s Like The Wind and sang the song. There is a video talking about how nervous he was to sing in front of a camera and people. Just a real true upfront honest, open guy that I was so interested in knowing all about him . Wonderful job sharing his story, very nicely done! I appreciate the work involved in you making the video!
I've been watching your vlogs for a very long time and you still manage to captivate me very time with these vlogs there just so beautifully done.. Patrick was an amazing entertainer and one you can't help but respect .. Hope you're all staying safe.
An artist never chooses their artistic medium, the medium chooses them. Swayze's life is a great example of that.
Well said!!!!!
Nice Job Jordan
I miss Patrick Swayze. He was a very talented actor. May he rest in peace ⚘⚘⚘⚘
I love Dirty Dancing, but my favorite Movie with Patrick Swayze is To Wong Foo, thanks for everything Julie Newmar.

You covered his life and family so well. I really enjoyed this.
Great job Jordan! What a contribution Patrick and wife Lisa gave to the Arts. Loved his dancing and movies.
Still catching up, Jordan! I adored Patrick Swayze! Ghost and Dirty Dancing are 2 of my favorite movies of his💖💖💖. Such a terribly sad loss💔💔
This was such an absolutely special, interesting, happy and sad vlog, all combined. I’ll be checking out his book. You covered everything, Jordan. Thanks!
Right when you said he got a Delorean I was thinking please tell me there is a picture of Patrick Swayze with a Delorean! 😹😻
I love Patrick Swayze! Thank you for doing this.
Thank you Jordan. I loved to watch "BIG BUDDY" dance. He was great.🕺🕺💃
Jah is so sweet waiting to go for his walk , just like my dog !
I attended the same high school as Patrick did for a short while in Houston, and remember passing him in the hall on the way to class
What a beautiful man and what an amazing life he lived! So missed. Thank you Jordan!
Jordan, thank you for sharing all that Patrick went through and how he kept going after his dreams.
He's one of my all time favorites!
@@DazewithJordantheLion Mine too, he put so much emotion into his roles.
I'm 66 years old and I enjoy your videos. They're new exciting and fresh. Guess I'm young at heart.
Wonderful vlog Jordan! I have always liked Patrick Swayze as a person and as an actor. RIP Patrick Swayze.
R.I.P. Patrick, You were the man in “Roadhouse”
Let's not forget "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing"! Loved him in all 3.
Ms. Happy Apple, that goes without saying.

I can’t hardly watch Ghost, it’s a damn good movie, but I’m a grown man and it makes me cry like a baby.
@@mshappyapple8663 point break too, top 10 action movie of 90s
Jordan!! I just loved this video!! You tell a story so well. Patrick would have liked the way you spoke of him. You honored Patrick well!! HEy Jah!!
Don't forget about the miniseries North and South!!! I loved him as Orry Maine! I just watched the whole series on the Hoopla site attached to my library card.
Patrick Swayze was amazing, I still miss seeing him perform in the current entertainment world.
Jordan, one of the best vlogs you've ever put out there and I've seen a ton of them! As you know!
Wow, cool. I wish I could see it.. that was his baby..

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT vlog Jordan. He was a fighter for sure , makes his death even sadder. RIP
My second visit to this vlog. I did actually buy the audio book by Patrick and his wife, Incredible stuff. I was devastated when I learned Patrick had cancer. In many ways he was great and talented individual. RIP Patrick Swayze.
What a wonderful guy and marvelous actor I didn't know he had such strength to keep acting during his illness
My parents met him at a horse competition and my mom got a hug 😀 edit got a hug because she asked for an autograph and he said he didn’t give autographs but gave hugs.
That's actually a really cool story
Great tribute to a great actor and the struggles that he had along the way just shows that if you keep pushing you will get there and never give up on your dreams great vlog the good ones always die young
Wow Jordan...I loved Patrick Swayze as an actor and was devastated when he died. I bought the book when it came out! Thank you so much for bringing back these memories...even though some were sad. I love your channel!!!
Not many actors have as many iconic roles as Patrick. Most actors have 1 or 2. He had Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Roadhouse and Point Break. All classics.
I drive by his childhood home here in houston and you get a feeling like he is still there
Red Dawn , The Outsiders.

A great actor that we lost much too soon. Thanks for the terrific video.
I've been watching your vlogs for a very long time and you still manage to captivate me very time with these vlogs there just so beautifully done..
Patrick was an amazing entertainer and one you can't help but respect ..
Hope you're all staying safe.
