    6:04 Interesting a lot of people don't know why rocks are placed on headstones, especially those with a star of David atop the name. In the Jewish religion, it is said that one leaves a rock on top of the headstone of a loved one. The rock represents love. No matter how many times you break down a rock, it is still a rock, even at its most miniscule state of being. Thus, love cannot be destroyed. Always touches me when I'm in a cemetery and see a headstone with rocks on top. Thanks for showing this place!

    Does anyone else like to frequent or "hang out" in cemeteries? I find them blissfully serene and a great place to contemplate anything and everything. They are often some of the most beautiful places with the mausoleums, statues and grounds features. I loved to element that the different animals add in Hollywood Forever. I would love to pay my respects here personally one day.

      @zippitydodaday6037 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I use to for awhile. I was intrigued by some of the statues etc and it was interesting to see the old grave dates.
      But I've encountered so many haunted ones that it's quite disturbing from experiences i had including sometimes when friends were with me we all heard/saw the same. I learned a lot from that but since then it's really rare for me. I only visit tourist attraction ones now beside family.
      When i was most interested in visiting a few random ones i was experiencing death and renewal in my life. So it was like symbolic for me. And I got over it so lost my interest.
      I tell you what though... I use to live in Chicago and I visited a few there. Turns out Oscar Myler ( sp)... You know the sandwich meat guy... Was buried near by my apt. After I saw his grave I can't buy or knowingly eat any meat from this company.

    Outstanding. The last time I visited Hollywood Forever, it was still Hollywood Memorial Park. It was in a sad state of repair, but still pretty remarkable. I’ll never forget the creepy feeling I got walking around inside the Cathedral Mausoleum, as if someone or something didn’t want me there. I also remember the strange sounds near the crypts of Victor Fleming and Darla Hood, like tapping up above your head. I’ve always heard the place was haunted, and I’d have to say I agree. I’m so glad the current owners have restored the place to its former grandeur. Great, respectful work, Adam…

    I toured that cemetary back in the late 80s. I was surprised to see the "newer" sites of those interred since then. Thanks for including the brief look at Hattie Man It's memorial. The former owner refused interment to any people of color, and known Jewish. Sad that discrimination has to follow even in death. I maintain the best headstone/memorial is Tyrone Power's. It's architecturally and esthetically pleasing, functional and non egotistical. A bench with books piled. As I was told, he was an avid reader, and had a say in how he'd like it to look.

    My Grandma and Grandpa were buried there! They share a spot and I haven't been over to see them, and it was a long time ago, and now I'm in a different state and don't know if I'll ever get back to it again. Thank you so much for this video!

    Jacob visited Johnny Appleseed's gravebin Ft' Wayne so I just watch your vlog from 2014. You have improved so much from then. You do know those trees were crab apples like Johnny planted. His apples were small and bitter and used to make hard cider - he would be shocked to see our large tasty apple varieties of today!

    I saw The Ramones in the early 90s as well! At a little hole in the wall in NJ called City Gardens. I was 15 and wasn’t old enough to get in, was supposed to be 16. I remember being so scared we drove all the way there and I wouldn’t be let in, but I got in and Joey Ramone walked right in front of me before the show started. Cool experience!

    The bench for Judy Wong is from her very famous friends. Judy was the office manager for Fleetwood Mac and with them since Bob Welch was in FM. She dated Bob and also dated a member of Jethro Tull. She had no family so Bob Welch organized a memorial.

    Loved the scene in Ernest Goes To Camp where Iron Eyes was stuffing tennis balls into the pitching machine. My mom having owned a few video stores I watched that movie whenever I wanted. ( plus many others but Ernest Goes To Camp by far was my favorite) After she passed away we were getting her estate sorted and I found the the screener copy of it,

      @@TheDailyWoo June Mathis loaned her Crypt space so Valentino had a temporary burial spot , as his death was so sudden ,plans were in place to build a grand memorial ,but funds were not found and his Hollywood pals never stumped up the cost
      the man who had bought the crypt space next to Valentino moved back to Italy, and sold the crypt back to June
      she died a few years after Valentino oddly , they then moved Valentino to the other crypt and put June Mathis where she is now !!

    Great vlog... I love the cemetery tours... it saddens though to see some of the great names, have graves that look so neglected.... like Janet Gaynor... you could barely see most of it. If I could, I would go to places like that and care for neglected graves like that.... and not just famous people. I don't have anyone grave in particular I'd add to your list, but I will love to see and vlog when you go back. Thank you for sharing, Adam. I also love how you are always so respectful.
